You want the game to be as soft as possible. A player is an investment ment worth millions. If your investment breaks and isn't functioning for months, then you are making a loss. You don't want to make a loss...so that is why you make the game softer to protect your investment.

When a team is well-coached they will play as per the manager's vision whenever they hit the pitch, that could be 3pm on a Sunday afternoon or 1am in the morning, the same goes for players (you can drop different AM in there and the team doesn't miss a beat because of the coaching). The thing is though just as Klopp found out you can't take a team with basic tactics and turn them into full speed heavy metal football overnight!! just go back and look at the number of Hamstring injuries Liverpool picked up when they changed the training regime, thats before you take into account Rangnick will be using Carrick and his cronies, so he will have to train them up first. Half a season is not nearly enough time to see any real fundamental improvements.
Tuchel did it in 4 months after taking over when Frank's Chelsea team were appalling... just saying.. Kopp might not have done it but tuchel did. The contrast between lampards team and tuchels team is manager and tactics. The same group of appalling players were instantly brilliant and won the champions league in 4 months.. anything is possible with a great talented group and a very good manager with a clear style of play

One key take away from the coaches like Rangnick that I take is that routine is absolutely important. Fuck the fancy shit. Learn the foundation of understanding what you are supposed to do with a football. The moment it becomes like breathing for you, then tactics come into play and repeating the same OVER AND OVER day in and out builds you into a machine to know what is expected of you because it’s now a part of how you live. I am a huge believer in routine, it makes you sharp and you master what you need to a whole new level.
