- Learn how to make homemade vanilla cupcakes. These cupcakes are moist, soft and rich. In this recipe I topped the cupcakes with simple buttercream frosting. They are perfect for birthdays, holidays and any occasion.

Ingredients:
For the cupcakes:
1¼ cups (156g) Flour
1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
1/4 teaspoon Baking soda
1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp. (125g) Sugar
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup (115g) Butter, softened
2 Eggs
1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
1/2 cup (120ml) buttermilk/Milk
1/3 cup (80ml) vegetable oil or 1/2 cup sour cream
For the frosting:
1/2 cup (115g) Butter, softened
1½ cups (190g) Powdered sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
2 tablespoons Milk
Directions:
1. Make the cupcakes: Preheat oven to 350F (175C).
2. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, one at the time, beating until combined after each addition. Add oil, vanilla extract, buttermilk and beat until combined.
3. Sift in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix until well combined.
4. Scoop the batter into the cupcake liners, about 3/4 of the way full.
5. Bake for 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool the cupcakes on a wire rack.
6. Make the frosting: In a large bowl, beat butter until light and fluffy, about 4-5 minutes. Beat in powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time, beating in between. Add vanilla extract, milk and beat until incorporated. Transfer to a piping bag.
7. Frost the cupcakes as desired.

I was on the hunt for a vanilla cupcake recipe that did not explicitly only work with buttermilk or yogurt and I stumbled upon yours thankfully. I've made this twice and the first time I somehow forgot to add the eggs hahaha but it was still so delicious cause it was moist but the second time I did remember the eggs but I'm not quite a fan of the texture like it without eggs. It's just a personal preference but still ever so delicious.

Well I tried to make the butter cream and it turned out soo bad like it was watery and didn’t hold

I doubled the ingredients and tried the recipe. Sadly it didn’t turn out to be good.
If you knew how GMO, hexane/acetone-refined, bleached, & deodorized vegetable oil is made and what it causes -- obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc. -- you'd never go near that garbage again. You may as well put motor oil in your food.
Sour cream and grass-fed butter are MUCH healthier choices.

I tried this recipe yesterday but my cupcake bottom became full of oil.. we can’t even eat that guys don’t try this recipe
for god's sake, melt the butter before adding the sugar so the sugar doesn't spray everywhere, lol!

I-I you- can't melt the butter 🙄 you can soften it tho to make it easier 😂😂think before you speak. Melting get the butter makes something completely different 😂😂
