That was me in so many MMORPG. I was the character who would sit there and intentionally piss off a whole zone and just let everything attack me while my friends killed the enemies one by one. One time I even soloed 10+ enemies in the time the rest of my team dealt with 2 enemies. Gotta flex and have fun while you can!

I think angles are able to get mad without problems. Whis is just a very gentle and calm angle because he knows his strength and has basically no enemies (so far....).

What you mentioned is basically the point of the series. I think Whis is supposed to be the constant in the z fighters' lives that provides an insurmountable obstacle. Beerus acts as a goal for Goku and Vegeta at this point in the story. Especially considering the fact that Whis only agreed to train Vegeta if he would become a God of destruction.

Its the little things that they do to remind you just how powerful they really are.
People mistakenly reduced Angels to one skill, UI but they are actually the one teaching the gods all these moves including Hakai, so Angels are basically like some sort of perfect Martial computer program, mortals will never get close to.
Do you also know why is the whole Dragon Ball pantheon into ki mastery and athletics in the first place?

In Pokémon, we know that fights for the survival do exist between deities, but we are yet to see them codified by civil terms: these latters are limited to a few planets and they're not (as for now) part of any scheme regarding the fate of the whole universe. Dragon Ball worldbuilding is way different, just think that Frieza race had the option to be peaceful but instead chose to lead an uncivil intergalactic tiranny and some species wildly reacted by rebeling. At high places, instead, they agreed for mutually part the multiverse by universes and the universes by sectors.

Whis is honestly one of the best things in Super and almost justifies its existence on his own. Not only is his character pretty amusing but it's great for Goku and Vegeta to actually have a teacher for once that they aren't just going to casually outpace after one to two episodes of training with them while having a great in universe justification for them not stepping in and easily solving every fight for them allowing them the potential to actually grow.

Also in the Granola arc, when Granola made a wish to become stronger than Goku/Vegeta, and Goku/Vegeta adapted to become stronger than him, and Gas was affected by a wish to become even stronger than them, and Goku adapted to become relative to that in SSJB and started ITing everywhere, Whis was still able to casually blitz both Goku and Gas to the point they didn't even see him sneak a transmission device onto Goku.

Whis is low key one of my favorite characters in the series. I like that the two most powerful beings can sway a story without lifting a finger, but are still a constant threat at all times. They definitely have an aura about them
