    I've been struggling with this for hours and putting the 2 same ram sticks in sequential slots(A1,A2) fixed it. Thank you.
    I'm just glad I got it to boot, so I probably won't even try to overclock at this point.

    I ran 4x16 gb of ddr5 at 6000 mt/s for 15 months JUST FINE. Then one day I started having random BSODs. I think my latest BIOS update changed some settings that made my rig unstable. I will try your settings and report back. I will just go with 2x48 gb later, but maybe these impedance values will keep me going for now.

    Subbing, hoping you can/will answer my question/problem. I pulled the trigger on the MSI MEG X670E ACE M/B and went hog wild on the M.2 slots getting 6 Kingston Fury Renegade 2280 2TB NVMe's and put them on the board (4) and the eXpander Z card (2) and they all went into a 6TB RAID 10 array. Don't ask. I've been building my own for 30 years and a huge redundant array like that has been a dream of mine since my first build in 1992 with a Cyrix CPU and DOS 5 with a gigantic 12MB of RAM I used to load all of X-Wing into a Ramdrive and run it from DOS. I also bit the bullet and Got a Zotac RTX 4090 gaming GPU.
    Here's what I originally did regarding the RAM: I bought a 2 stick 32G kit of the G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO DDR5 6000 and ran Expo (6000) in the bios and it ran great. However, thinking Cities Skylines would run better with twice as much RAM, I bought a second kit, same RAM just made 1 month later and it ran well for awhile. Then a Win10 update tried to restart and it wouldn't get out of BIOS. I had to shut down (cold boot, wait 10 seconds) and then the BIOS would sometimes stick on the memory test (15) for more than two minutes and I'd cold boot it again and sometimes it would go on through to Windows.
    Then the machine would just reboot for no reason at all. Sometimes I would get a BSOD saying IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and a few more, all of them relating to a possible RAM problem.
    So I took the second pair out and it ran great on Expo again. I called G.Skill and the guy there said they won't run 4 sticks at 6000, I'll have to run something less if I want to run 64Gb with the 4 sticks. And whaddaya know, the MSI specs for the M/B says that to run 4 sticks I must be at 5400.
    Which is what I'm running now. The machine is stable, no more crashes, but it's sluggish as hell. CPU-Z is showing CAS# Latency of 46 clocks, RAS# to CAS# Delay of 45, RAS# Precharge of 45, Cycle Time of 87 and Bank Cycle Time of 132. You know those Expo timings. Seems like it ran better on 32G running at 6000 than twice the RAM running at 5400.
    Is there something I can do to speed up this build with what I've got? Or should I try to sell this RAM and go for a 2 x 48G set I can run Expo with?

      @GameTechReviews  Před 3 měsíci +1

      You have to adjust the ODT values as shown in the video. What to adjust them to depends heavily on the RAM kits as well as the motherboard. It will take some trial and error. I recommend first downloading Zentimings from techpowerup to get the baseline values. I'll cover this later this evening on the livestream.

    • @ladamyre1
      @ladamyre1 Před 3 měsíci +2

      @@GameTechReviews I've got it running at 6000 now and I'm using the exact ODT values I see at 9:50 in this video. However I let the M/B set the timings, it's not running Expo as it won't even post into the BIOS. tCL, tRCDWR, tRCDRD and tRP are all at 50, tRAS is 96 and tRC is 146.
      The thing I missed was running the RAM in the same channels as you did. I kept the set made in September last year in the A2-B2 slots and the October sets in the A1-B1 slots. When I got them rearranged it posted to code 4F, but I cold booted it and it went on through the second time.
      Day 2 now and no BSOD's or random reboots. Went through BIOS and set my fan speeds and it posted fine. I'm running two Noctua NF-F12's and they're quite loud at 2500 rpm but since they blow right at the Noctua NH-D15s cooler I have them set to 40% at 70C and ramp up to 100% only until CPU gets to 88C. The Noctua NF-A15's on the cooler itself are very quiet even at full speed (1500) and the 3 Fractal Define 7 XL case fans bringing the rest of the air in are set to voltage on the controller that came with the case. She's whisper quiet now until I run Kombustor CPU burn.

    Running 4 x8-32gb Am4 cl16 3600mhz. Msi tomahawk trained all 4 properly. Expo runs them at rated spec. I had no issues or had to tweak anything. I am upgrading to Am5 atm and believe 6000mhz for a rzyen x3d is 1-1. Anything more runs 1-2. Basically infinity fabric won’t work. Needs a 1-1 to work. Good setup. Little overkill at 8000 but can run at 6000 1-1 on all 4 sticks. 👍🏼

    • @larrydysondev
      @larrydysondev Před 2 měsíci

      are you sure youre actually talking about ddr5 because your first few words are talking about 3600mhz. ddr5 doesn't run at that speed natively as 3600mhz is the ddr4 sweet spot and hasn't had training issues since like 2015. ddr4 is also NOT expo related whatsoever.
      lastly, amd has stated multiple times that ddr5 6000 is the sweet spot for all 7000 series cpus. you can currently run up to 8000mhz board and agesa bios dependent but 7000 cpus memory controller gives minimal gains above 6000mhz.
      you will NOT be able to run 8000mhz with 4 stick whatsoever but ryzen 9000 may support those speeds as x870e has a better memory controller.
