- I decided to make an Advent Calendar for my younger 3 kiddos this year! I am constantly saving things to my Pinterest Boards and never get around to doing them. I have already created my Christmas Bucket List and that inspired me to make this as well. Next up will be my Elf on the Shelf Calendar ;)
The items I purchased for this would also make great stocking stuffers!!

I love Advent calendars, I don't remember doing one except one in a book when I was a kid. At some point I started buying the ones filled with chocolate. A few years ago, I just started filling random containers with gifts for me. This year, I went with paper bags, I haven't numbered them, I just put them in a big box and I'm planning to pick out one a day. I started a bit late this year, and am still filling up my bags. I may not have 24, which is fine because I have an Advent calendar pocket letter and an envelope swap which is about the same thing, just bigger things to fill, so I'm sure I have enough to lead me up to Christmas.
Great Idea, good job. I just love to see children playing outside instead of watching TV or computer games. You really are a great MOM!. Thumbs up

Very fun idea! My son is 27....but I still bought him a chocolate advent calendar because I've done that for 26 years! LOL!
I feel like I'm going to be the same way when my kiddos are grown :)
Super cute! I bought chocolate ones from Aldi for a buck a piece but I'm also making one too with just brown bags and clothes pins on a string. I love advent calendars! :)
Cute idea, I always took the easy (and foolishly expensive way) out and bought them Advent Calendars. Often Lego ones. I stopped last year. My girls are 19 and 13. I thought about doing something like you are this year, but couldn't think of what to put in for each day. Can't wait to see what you do for Paige, And of course your Christmas decor!! I am almost all decorated here, just need to get a few things to finish off.
Jingle all the Way was in the the late 90's. Great Xmas film. Of course the 2 Home Alone films were great.

I love your tree idea. Since I am part of a newly blended family this year, I decided to make advent calendar bags for my 13 yr old son. I got the idea from another you tuber I watch, Cheap Crafty Girl. I decorated brown paper lunch bags for each day and inserted the little gift/action item or candy treat. He is slightly older so I wanted to make a lot of ours family action items. Thanks for sharing your craft. Be Blessed.
I watched that video also! Definitely going to be doing that for next year, after making this advent tree the bags seem just as cute but much easier ;)

Most of the items that she didn't say from where were all from DT. Flashlights, bracelet set, dum Dums, candies, etc

I have 4 kids but my oldest is 13 and not really into the "little" toys anymore. She gets her own Advent Calendar :) My younger 3 are 6 and then twin 5-year-olds.
love this idea, When my mum had three of us under five she had a Christmas tree on a piece of paper like yours but no cups, it was also n the hall wall and every so often 3 sweets would appear and the excitement as there was one for each of us was great. the thing was as it was not set up in advance we did not know when or where a surprise would happen, so in your case, you could switch prizes according to the day ie rainy =DVD, sunshine =bubbles, and so you are not stuck for an activity, also eliminates the cups sticking. I think there would have been an adult meltdown in my house!!

It's a countdown to Christmas :) Starting with the first day of December and going up to Christmas Eve.
