Yea, it is up for a while as well. Havent seen so many bugs to be honest. Should be beta already.
Never seen a game so long in its alpha stage
But in this case I think it's justified. It isn't like DayZ where the devs simply stopped working on it for a while. While they don't make any drastic changes to the game anymore since the foundation is done they still make tons of little changes which turned the cars in the game into acctual drivable vehicles instead of fidget spinners.
And the physics engine is really impressive because it simulates everything from driving, to actual pistons moving in the engine and making the car drive, real steering that's acctually connected to the steering wheel instead of just pushing the button and the car's wheels turning themselves like most other games and air flow/pressure, moving the different panels of the car like the hood depending on the pressure. All of it is simulated in Real-Time.
You don't even have to go to any major lenghts to mod an airplane as long as it has the correct aerodynamics to make it fly instead of having to mod all of the behaviour to harsh manouvers etc aswell.
It's one hell of an impressive game and you absolutely need to go into slowmotion to appreciate it completely.

Mew Two they weren't calling you a dummy. It was a crash test dummy they used for that crash. If they were calling you the dummy it would've been "pretty sure it was a test, dummy."
as amazing as this game is there are a few things I noticed
- Everything is a small bit to light. you can see this when the car crashes into the trailer of the large truck.
-More particle affects would help (sparks and dust)
-More ground resistance, as it is the cars slide for far to long.
-Glass doesn't smash as satisfyingly (this will probably be fixed in a later update
-No paint scratches or chips (same as the glass)
Other than these the game is spot on. updates will definitely help the game and have in the past.
It is great to watch this game grow and change!
Another thing i dont like about the game is the fire animation
You can change the % of gravity in game
yeah everything is a little too bouncy but its still really impressive

When you push the game in a little bit more extreme situation, that really becomes unrealistic because it doesnt recognize weak spots and the vehicle tends to resist as a single part.

The main problem is if they made the cars with separate parts, it would take a much more powerful CPU to run.
The 8x8 rig mod for example as a lot of small parts, which while makes it more realistic when it crashes, makes the game lag incredibly bad due to 1 car taking up 1 core.

Close enough that you can almost pass the differences off as simply circumstantial. Although the game needs more flying debris.

And the added bouncyness BeamNGs cars have.
The main thing that bothered me is the lack of friction between the bodies of the vehicles and the ground. A small adjustment there would make a lot of difference, imo.
The next thing on the list was the 'bounciness'. It's as though the models aren't allowing for quite enough energy absorption by the body deformation.
Overall, impressive as hell but I feel that just small adjustments to these two could make it even more realistic.

No, the cars are just right. Beamng doesn’t have any real life cars so the creator of this video had to use cars that looked similar, but actually had a huge difference in weight.

Overall, BeamNG is pretty accurate.
The fact that it is so accurate to the point that it is almost the exact same as the real life crashes sends shivers down my spine

The problem with this is that as much as you try you cant get a full fair comparison due to the fact that the cars in real life are different to the ones in game and their structural rigidity also differs however props for going into pretty much as much detail as you can in this video.

it almost seems like the cars in beamng are lighter than usual... but still, this game is insane... it blew my mind!
We just need parts to rip apart at certain points. And more particles.
I think airbags are possible but the ultimate new thing would be scratches.
They made scratching noises so how about actual scratching paint.
I know it would be decals what would be FPS heavy but maybe they come up with a better solution. You never know. PCs are getting better and allow stuff that devs would have not been able to implement 5 years ago

This is the first game that features vehicles where I have motivation to drive slow and careful. Controlling these cars can be incredibly hard when you're used to arcadey racing games. For some reason I started enjoying this game so much that I've spent a bunch of hours on each map just driving around, sometimes speeding, sometimes watching the speed limit. Sometimes with traffic but mostly alone. Just waiting for that one moment you don't pay attention and damage your car.
Real life needs an update.
Whoever programmed real life, got very close to BeamNG, I think real life is hands down the best BeamNG simulator!

It's a great game for sure but its random at times and I find it's only realistic with the crashes like in the video and that's it ...when doing odd stuff like flying through speed bumps and etc etc it's off with the realistic damage model

it's scary how close it is to RL, I'm sure it won't be long before BeamNG becomes a platform for driving school teach kids about the dangers of driving and how driving is without having to put inexperienced kids out on the road with zero idea of how to physically operate a car properly. At least with this as a driving pre-test the instructors can gauge how safe a student is before hitting the road.

BeamNG is so inconsistant. Sometimes the car wont damage too much, and sometimes it damages way more than it should, but it is a very realistic simulator overall. I guess we could give the game 8.5/10 in realism? Maybe 9.

Well obviously. But considering it's a $15 game anyone can buy that's still developing and getting better, it really isn't bad at all.

This game overall is great 👍🏼. But I think if they could make the windows glass shatter to where you can see the glass, and last thing is if there is an option to enable airbags. 👍🏼

Nice, but for the test with the loaded van vs. car you should have used a new pessima instead of a LeGran. LeGrans have a very weak passenger cabin and surprisingly rigid crumple zones, unlike the car that was used for that crash in real life.

The main difference is the Beam.NG cars bounce back a bit and the real cars don't. I'm wondering if that's only due to the cable that's pulling the real cars along preventing them from bouncing backwards.
What about the driving physics though?
