- In this video series, I'm doing a 5" drop on the front of my 1977 Chevy squarebody C10. I will be cutting the stock, original coil springs netting roughly a 2" to 2.5" drop from the coil springs. I will also be using 2.5" drop spindles that I purchased from Chassis Tech.. I am also using tubular DJM upper control arms and new factory lower control arms. The front drop shocks are from CPP. The whole front suspension and steering will be new when I am finished.

• PART 1 C10 7" REAR DRO...
For the rear drop, I will be using a axle flip kit from Belltech. I am also installing all new urethane bushings from Energy Suspension in both ends of the stock leaf springs as well as the factory spring shackles. While I'm at it, I remove a few of the individual leaves from the leaf spring pack to reduce the spring rate to smooth out the ride. I am also using Belltech drop shocks in the rear. - Auta a dopravní prostředky

Good Vid! how are things with it now? I just started on a '81 Chev and i cant wait to get into the suspension and this is an interesting correction you are doing
hey, does the lower control arm bushing screw into the control arm?
thanks inadvance!
larry
thanks for the response saw your brake line issue I was waiting on your response before I ordered mine one other quick question I noticed when you did your rear flip kit you took part of the overload spring and made a lowering block and the saddles are offset pushing rearend back a little i noticed it made the back of the saddle have some over hang off the lowering block have you had any issues with that?
I haven't had any issues, but I should have cut that spring longer to avoid that overhang
Nice move on the brake lines. Look good all around though.
808dv Thank you!
what welder are you using? looks great
gReG sKi Millermatic 135. Thank you!
When installing those DJM arms did you have to grind part of the frame where it mounts to the crossmember in order to remove the shims to get better camber, caster. When i installed mine i had to grind the back for the upper arms to fit. Otherwise my caster camber was way off. Looked like this \\.....// I wasnt very imppressed with the a arms. I like how you mounted the brake line. I have a 70 chevy c10
+J Shorb No, I didn't have to do that. Are you sure they shipped you the correct control arms? Working on a friends truck a few years ago we ran into the same problem as you. We checked the part number on the box with the one on the invoice. The vendor had shipped us the wrong control arms. When the correct arms arrived, we bolted them on without any problems.
5:04 "safety squints on"
What were the control arms used for?
Did u leave the factory shims on. On the top control arm
Yes... I put the original amount of shims back in place so I could drive it the 1.5 miles to the shop for an alignment.
do you have to replace the control arm or could you use stock?
+Sean Bradley You can use stock upper and lower control arms with this much drop. Any lower and you would want to swap out at least the upper control arm. The stock upper arm would hold the upper ball joint at a sharp, unfavorable angle with a drop of more than 5". Thanks for watching!
how many inches was the coil after cutting
Total height?
can i a spring from a strut
what brand spindles are those
Chassis Tech. I do not recommend them.
What drop spindles are you using???
chase williams Chassis Tech. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM!!
Why not ??
I'm gonna get mc gaugty 2.5
chase williams I had a MAJOR interference problem with the spindle and the brake line. I documented it in one of the videos in this series.

Hacks off part of his springs, then calls people who use zip ties “hacks”
