One of my roommates at the time of the first Spider-Man movie worked on it as a PA. He said they were filming one of the Green Goblin glider scenes with a stunt double when Dafoe came in and got really upset he hadn’t been asked to do it himself. Although this does makes me wonder…what WOULD a movie where Will was Doc Ock be like? Eh, who knows. It’s not like I can access the Multiverse. One can only imagine…

My god, the pure glee on Alfred Molina's face is just perfect. When he sees Willem Dafoe he can't stop grinning. XD I absolutely love this!
Its very heartwarming to see the amount of respect Willem Dafoe had for the Sam Raimi's Spiderman films that he always wanted to be in it. And vice versa, its so great to see Sam Raimi appreciating Willem Dafoe as well.
Dafoe also written that scene where Norman and Harry talk to each other like it’s Hamlet. Sam liked the idea a lot and decided to incorporate it into the film.
Originally William didn't want to be in it but when he saw the casting choices he wanted to be in it, if curious i recommend checking out fact fiend they talk about how Willem Dafoe insisted on being green goblin
I think there is a missing oportunity on them not making an horror movie together, Willem Dafoe can be terrifying, and Sam Raimi...well, Sam Raimi.
The 2,000's (2000-2009) were just incredible. What a magical era for both films and video games.

Seriously though, the Goblin with Doc Ocs arms would be a genuinely terrifying villain, considering he could also fly and throw his pumpkin bombs with 6 separate limbs.
At one point in the comics Green Goblin even had the Carnage Symbiote.
Simply some of the greatest movies ever made, not saying that as a Spider-Man fanboy I just think the first two were damn near perfect, third one was really good also Imo
You're damn right, the 1st one was great, the 2nd one was perfect. Tbh, thats one of the best superhero movies of all time IMO. The 3rd was OK for me
The third movie was a massive disappointment and a decent surprise. I was hugely let down by the terrible Venom they produced, but actually found myself interested in Sandman, simply due to Thomas Haden Church’s acting.

This shows what a great actor Willem Dafoe is. Although, it's probably just playing around, but his stage presence, and the way he delivered the line, he's still convincing as a mad scientist who's in the process of creating a monster. Which shows if he wasn't the Green Goblin, he could have played Doc Ock. But he was a perfect choice as the Green Goblin, and it looked like a lot more fun to play.
0:57 Look at the way Dafoe keeps looking down at the paper in his hand when the camera is on him - he seems so shy in person in this compared to Alfred Molina. So different to most of Dafoes characters but Alfred has played a big mix of easy going kind characters and villains.
