    Accord also received a "GOOD" safety rating while Camry was "Acceptable" to "Marginal" according to actual Crash Tests!
    In fact, Honda outperformed most other sedans in it's safety rank.
    I would say Honda all the way!

    My Chevy Volt just turned 12,000 miles after 8 months of driving. I have a 145 mpg lifetime average since I bought it new. It goes 45-51 miles on electricity, then the gas generator kicks in seamlessly for limitless range. Most owners who drive less than 40 miles per day get 900 mpg lifetime ave. I have never changed my oil (75% oil life left), and rarely use my brakes due to the instant regenerative brakes as I let up off the throttle (totally awesome in heavy traffic). It hasn't had a single problem since I bought the car, not even a single rattle. The maintenance schedule up to 120,000 miles is basically rotate tires and check fluid levels. Virtually no maintenance. I have 274 lbs of torque at 0 rpm, so leaving cars at lights is easy. 0-60 in about 8.5 secs, a very low center of gravity for good handling, and looks better than most cars. The Volt will be like the EV1... People will cry when it's gone because they didn't know enough about what a phenomenal car it truly is. The car seats 4 in bucket seats, which may be a deal breaker for people looking for more than 3 passengers. It has been the top rated car for customer satisfaction for a couple of years. Mine cost $22,195 after $9,000 in Fed and Ca. Credits and rebates. They are even cheaper than that now.

Wanna try again? What are you comparing? Modern Honda Accord V6 to old late 90's Mustangs and Camaros??? Mustang GT's in the late 90's (2 valve SOHC 4.6L 260hp) were slow compared to the new 4 valve DOHC 5.0L 420hp ones now. You can't compare old vs new. New vs New the Mustang GT and Camaro SS as you see are faster and those are the numbers for the convertibles that are a little heavier and usually a little slower than the coupes. So, yeah. There's no way. Look the numbers up for yourself if you don't believe me. Motor Trend, Car and Driver you pick they're all close. Honda Accord V-tec V6's have always been fast for what they are. I just saw the consumer reports video of Honda Accord hybrid VS Honda Accord 4 cyl, turns out Accord hybrids actual MPGs aren't close to the EPA estimated 48 and Accord hybrid handling in emergency situations is poor, also the trunk loses a lot of space and no spare tire included. Consumer Reports recommend to buy a Camry hybrid instead which doesn't give many complications like the Accord hybrid. Also the Camry starts at 27k the Accord starts at 29k.

  • @usxinfinity
    @usxinfinity Před 9 lety +2

    Test drove both of these cars and, to be honest, I wasn't impressed by the Accord like these paid fanboys were. I am 6' tall and a hearty 225 pounds. I could barely get my legs to fit in the Accord Hybrid and the engine felt sluggish in all three modes. In contrast, I felt comfortable in the Camry hybrid, had plenty of leg room, and the drive-by-wire feel was amazingly responsive. The Honda interior was not nearly as finished as the Camry and the comparable luxury and technology packages on the Accord to match the Camry's XLE would have pushed the Accord's price closer to $40k. I am not sure why these guys compared a lower level model of Accord to the Camry XLE but I am guessing it was to reduce the weight of the Accord to give it an advantage in their little "race".

      Tom Eisenmenger Typical Accord fan. I've owned both. Camry wins and my Camry Hybrid XLE has LED headlights. Do your homework. I bet you hit your legs on the steering column/lower console 8 out of 10 times. You are showing a lot of bias via all of your other comments.

      @tomeisenmenger6475 Před 9 lety

      Matt James ...as you are showing your own Camry bias. I'm just saying that I fit just fine in my Accord and in the HAH I test drove with no leg hitting the steering column or console. Then again, I don't feel the need to "man-spread." If it makes you feel any better, I do plan to test-drive a Camry Hybrid but it'll have to be far improved over the '07 TCH I test-drove back in '07 - that car was wanting

    • @mattjames5270
      @mattjames5270 Před 9 lety

      It's not about hitting your legs while you're driving...but every time you try to get into the Accord. It noticeably sticks out in comparison to the Camry. You can't really comment since the last test drove you took of a TCH was back in '07. Eight years...so much fine tuning and upgrading. I had an '09 Accord coupe and while it was a great car, it was sluggish around corners, slow as hell off the line, and the interior hadn't been changed since '06. I gave both the TCH and the Accord a test drive last September and there was NO comparison. The 2014.5 TCH won hands-down.

However, this new design really sucks and I am holding out to see what happens next year. Honda is ok but I had a really bad experience with one so not very interested in Honda anymore.

      dvdrummer vann Constant transmission problems with my Accord. It was a used car so it might have just been a lemon but it was the worst used car that I ever had. Hate judging all Hondas based on my experience but I have had multiple used Toyotas and my experience has never been that bad.

    What is the cost of each component of the hybrid system? How much does the 2.0 Atkinson cycle DOHC i-VTECH engine, two hybrid motors system, Lithium Ion Battery, and PCU cost? How long do these parts last? This needs to be addressed before buying the Hybrid Accord. Please help. Thank you.

    Based on safety/crash rating alone, Accord already wins. My families got both manufactures over 30 yrs. Still got both cars in our lots. I've checked out both cars in car shows for the 2014 model. Based on this video, I got a better understanding of road drive. I would pick the Accord. Now my dilemma is which to buy, between Accord vs Ford Fusion hybrid.

    Only thing I don't like about the new Accord Hybrid - I can't frickin' get one! Honda has only made about 1,500 of these so far. The color and trim I want is almost nowhere to be found. Finally broke down last week and placed a factory order. May have to wait 3 months or so.
    But I do love the electric drive modes. I really wanted to buy a Tesla Model S. But I don't have $80,000 to spend on a car. The Accord Hybrid is a good compromise :D

      Correct, but I drive the 2013 Camry Hybrid (basically same as this model) and if the car is in the Eco Mode vs not the car actually uses far less power and you must take it out of that mode, by pushing the button in front of the gear shift.

    Off topic a little but my new accord coupe with the v6, my fourth Honda car, really should be called a Prelude. The coup with the v6 feels like a completely different car from my neighbors four cylinder sedan. All of my Honda cars, motorcycles, lawnmowers and generators. have been rock solid reliable. The three Toyotas I've owned have been just as reliable. Honda seems to be getting the mojo back.

      Yeah but in terms of long term investment return the accord's got it down. i also like the fact its one of the last midsizes offering a stick on multiple trims, a coupe EXL v6 with a 6 speed manual, and a naturally aspirated 278 horse V6.

    • @pornaddict7578
      @pornaddict7578 Před 10 lety

      No doubt. The Accord is the benchmark in its class as always. And in terms of resale value, the Accord is top shelf.. But for just a sweet riding fun mid sizer with a nice exterior/ interior the 6 is pretty sweet.

    2 things. What trim is the Accord? The Accord fights the Avalon as well and the Camry. Of course the Accord is going to offer more than the Camry.
    Also, the Accord looks VERY similar to a ES350. From 2007. How is THAT one the more modern looking? I agree that the Accord looks better, but that is because the Camry's looks have deteriorated since 3rd/4th gen.
    Of course you would do well to get either one. I would go with the Camry since Toyota has more experience with the hybrids and if you plan on keeping the car until it dies, there will be more of the Camrys on the road.

    When the Accord hybrid is on the road you can tell its a hybrid by looking at the wheels its has a slight blue tint to the head lights and the Camry looks like a typical camry you would see everyday. On the camry you cant tell if its a hybrid or not UNLESS you come up close to listen to the sound even the 2015 Camry is the same story. Even the Camry does NOT have LED lights in which the Accord has
