it may not be the case for any new car to think this as you used to be able to on the older ones. there's parts engineered beyond reliability like the plastic valve cover. in 15 years the valve cover will be prone to cracking if you push on it too hard. A 2025 Camry LE Hybrid wouldn't last 5 years. The Bottom of the Barrel or lowest Trim level always breaks down after the Basic Warranty Expires.
A fully loaded 2025 Camry XSE Hybrid FWD has an MSRP of nearly $42,000 and AWD would be $43,500.

2019 Camry XSE 2.5. I bought brand new, and it was totaled by an 18 wheeler rear ending it, and side swiping it 05/31/2023. That car took me everywhere. It was my daily driver, and it hurt my heart when it was totaled. I put 252,000 miles on that car simply by oil changes, OEM plugs, keeping the coolant changed my fuel pump didn’t have an issue but it was recalled and replaced by Toyota at 116,000 miles. Mobil 1 0W-8 is readily available through Walmart and it's about $27.47 for five quarts. I just changed the oil and filter last month on my 2024 Corolla (at 2937 miles) and the oil came within two days of me ordering it on the Walmart website. I'm fine with a hood prop rod. It doesn't break and require new struts every few years. Sometimes simple is better.

I've had my 2025 Camry XSE AWD in black for about a month. It's been an amazing car. Drives smooth. Sport mode gives it a jolt - plenty of power. Adaptive cruise is awesome. Interior looks impressive and materials feel high quality. EV mode in parking lots and quiet residential areas is great - using it way more than I thought. Looks low-key money in black with black badges IMO. I thought the gas mileage would be a bit better. If you drive like an angel it's great. But drive somewhat aggressive, it gets less impressive. Overall I'm so happy I bought one. I enjoy driving and looking at it. On top of that, my dealer got me the "dealer demo" so I was one of the first in Canada to take delivery of a 2025 Camry XSE AWD. Thank you for the honest review. Sounds like the Camry is still a great car technically, with several annoying quirks that older generations did not have, and several downgrades over the previous versions. I guess we passed the peak of best cars ever made, not just with the Camry. Glad they're still focusing on reliability, that's most important to Toyota buyers like me. That said, the Camry XLE now costs almost twice as much as what I paid for my 2014.5 Camry XLE, and just about the same as what I paid for my 2022 Avalon XLE, so you are absolutely correct that prices are getting out of control. I would say if you don't drive that much or just the average amount most Americans do it probably isn't such a big deal. But if you do a whole lot of city driving particularly the hybrid is going to definitely pay dividends. If you do a whole lot of long distance highway travel it will make less difference. 0W-8 has been in use in Japan for a few years now. It was only recently (within six months) approved for use in the US. Many of your recent engines sold in North America requiring 0W-16 are actually designed to run on 0W-8, but were vetted for compatibility with 0W-16 in the North American market. Because of the recent approval, it's taking some time for the oil manufacturers to put together a 0W-8 oil for North American markets, get them certified, and put them on the market. Over the next six months, I suspect we'll see them become more common on the shelves at auto parts stores. :)

why? you understand that the hybrid powertrain is more reliable? there's no starter for example, it uses the electric motor to spin the engine up to speed.
the ecvt has no moving parts beyond rotating gears and a parking pawl.
the lack of shifting means you don't have acceleration gaps. no valve body in the transaxle to wear out, no shifting bands losing friction material over time.
there's no drive chain in the ecvt like other cvts, it's two electric motors and the combustion engine each spinning at different speeds to create an output ratio, so if you floor the gas the power is very quick to come in because you're not moving pullies to change the drive ratio of a steel pushbelt. I just cannot fathom how people find a modern hybrid powertrain to be less reliable than one without.

@@johndoe-fy6jz I need to give hybrids a try. I've never had transmission or starter issues since 1996 on vehicles. so for me regular gas engines and trans have been fine for me. I guess I need to change with the times but going to something I know little about or have used is difficult. Thanks for the info!

@@BigD481 yeah....I did a spreadsheet on car cost of the 2024 Camry with gas mileage, maintenance for both gas and hybrid and if you have to replace the battery at 150K miles you spend more for the hybrid long term. If you don't replace the battery you about break even. But, what is the resale of a hybrid with original battery at say 10-15 years/150K_ miles vs a gas model? I think the answer is you just get a new car every 8-10 years. No keeping stuff for 10-20 years with a hybrid.

I have a 2031 le hybrid. 50k miles. All black with black badging. I switched out the 16 steel wheels for 17 inch black alloys and slightly wider tires. Also put in aftermarket lexus style yaillights with sequence signals. Next switching headlights. I seriously think mine looks better than the new style. Also been getting 50 mpg total life and with full battery does 0 to 60 in 7.5. . Passing on the highway is a dream except for the drone. Ill keep this until the next gen in 5 years.

Disagree, warmer weather the heavier grade is more protective.
The thinner oil rating are for fuel EPA ratings that manufacturers have to abide by.
0-20 will flow just as well through oil passages as 0-16.
And now, with 90+ degree temps, I’m glad for the 0-20, and yet I get over 40 MPG
For winter start ups, of course go back to 0-16, And “100%” Synthetic Amsoil, not the “full” synthetic crap you get at Walmart, there is a difference.

I recently bought a 2025 Camry se. and I love it. This hybrid is one of the best driving hybrid vehicles on the market in my opinion. After 1,000 miles my only gripe with the car has to do with the interior. The b pillar driver side keeps rattling and it drives me nuts. Did some research and it seems pretty common on Toyota vehicles. My only advise is make sure you guys look out for that while you’re on the test drive. Also if anyone knows how to fix it Plz let me know
