My family had Chevrolets, Fords, Hyundais, Volkswagen and Toyota. Toyota is easily the best. All of our Toyotas never missed a beat. The worst of them all was Hyundai. No spare parts and shit dealer service; J.D Power can suck my balls if they think Hyundai is good.

Just squeezed 69 mpg out of my 2015 Camry Hybrid SE yesterday, average way over 40 in a 5 year old car. And has exact interior of the red one in the video. : )
I bought a Black on Black XSE V6 earlier this year & I love it!!! It has everything except for the advance technology package. I love it even more now cause I found out that it's a very rare car where I live cause everybody buys the damn 4-cylinder & there are almost no V6's in stock at the dealers all the time & I live in SoCal!

Nathan has a point, in my opinion this is a good looking car. Camrys have come a looong way since the first generation ones, looking closer to Lexus, style and even quality wise. Personally I'd go for the hybrid, 268 hp going to the front wheels isn't *really* necessary for most people and I'm sure sales will reflect that(maybe not in the US, but elsewhere numbers will probably be closer). Kudos to Toyota and as per usual The Fast Lane Car for another great review/comparison! Cheers guys

Is the V6 actually faster in real life? I test drove a V6 and hybrid camry and the hybrid certainly felt faster to me. That electric motor has INSTANT torque, so as soon as you floor it the car JUMPS off the line. The V6 didn't do that.
lifehackertips I own one and yes you're right you get all that instant power with the hybrid. it's actually a pretty fast car feels like 250 horsepower instead of just 200 hp

Have that same v6 in my es350 and it's honestly a really great, fun, powerful engine. Definitely no slouch at all and btw, average around 30.5 mpg highway and city. Great great engine
I have a V6 inline 3.0 european sport daily driver. I commute 50miles to and 50mi from work. "Ocasionally"I drive pretty quick on the highway on a clear straight line. Early today I test drove this 2.5 hybrid (for gas considerations)and thought I was going to need more umph to overtake on the car infront with a steady fast traffic coming on my left. and so I punched it a little for anticipation and whoa man...had to break because the power that kicked in was just not expected! sold!

u guys forgot to mention one important thing...the hybrid version has pretty high level of torque (>200 lb ft)...

make a video about hybrid and non hybrid with both car with same engine and run a drag race . . i want to see three drags with all the modes of the hybrid car comparing with regular gasoline engine. compare the pros and cons. the main purpose is i wanted to see how hybrid works when the new generation is moving to electric vehicles. then you can compare them with only ev car. . figure out the best candidates of vehicles.
"Damn good car" Exactly what the camry is and always has been and why its always sold so good. I had 3 generations camrys in the family and none ever gave us any major issues. Love camrys

I agree, but trust me, the 2018 Toyota Camry (especially in XSE form) looks even sexier.
Toyota DID have a 2014.5 "Sports version" of the Camry Hybrid. Limited run to see what the interest would be.
Upgrade the tires on the V6 to Michelin Pilot Sport 4's or Continental DWS06 Plus and it will tame some of that front tire torque and traction.
I'm pretty sure the 2014.5 Camry Hybrids had a special "SE" edition. So, the Hybrid Sport has been done before.

Why no actual acceleration times and so on? The cool thing about the hybrid is that with the fuel economy you still get pretty good acceleration.

I'm a hairy chested 29 year old single man, but I'm going to side with Nathan on this one. You don't buy a Camry because you want a sporty car, you buy a Camry because you want a car. 16 feet of car that carries your family about in relative ease and comfort and is efficient at doing it. You want a car with a sporting pedigree? Buy a BMW. You want transportation? Buy a Camry.

Secondly not all BMW's are good most of them SUCK unless your buy a M division model or a highly priced out fully loaded model. FYI BMW isnt the go to for sport anymore. AMG Lexus F Caddy V Models the list goes on and on... who cars about sporting pedigree real car loves go by pants of seat driving feel and honestly Lexus and Caddy have been out performing BMW lately.

Toyota4Life lol any BMW //M car will blow the doors off any Lexus lol. The X5//M for example will destroy any Lexus out their. As for AMG and V their good cars and are good rivals for //M but they are not better in my opinion then BMW.

Nobody realizes, but the 2015 camrys with V6s get RevvMatching straight from the FRS, using the paddles is much better then the 2012/14.5 ... I work at a dealership. Why doesnt Toyota advertise this :/
Paddle shifters that will immediately determine you made a poor shift and promptly shift the car into the next gear to continue its automatic function. It is Toyota we are talking about here.
The car knows what's best, don't blame the car ;) It is slightly annoying that you can't downshift when you want,yes. But it saves stress on the motor and drive train, so it's better in the long term that way. After all, it's not a "drivers car", more of a family sedan than doesn't bore you to death.

Hey Roman, get the hybrid in "sporty Red" and enjoy a Camry for what it is; and save the $3K. If the specs are real, 200 HP and torque that the full hybrid electric motor gives has the potential of being great. Is the same CVT in both versions? If so, Nathan's really got you cold.... Or at least as convincing as any Camry can be.
Personally, for less than 32K, I'm doing an optioned out Mazda6 Grand Touring with iELoop to get great overall economy, EXCELLENT road manners, and just plain Handsome looks.

My moms Husband just bought a New Camry Hybrid and claims its really fast.
I took it for a spin and its alright.
He kept telling me to Watch out!.. Watch out! like it was supper fast.
It did have a good passing power though.
While I was driving it I kept thinking (He thinks this is fast) my old 1980 Pontiac will smoke this thing, but the V6 is a sleeper, I seen them run 5.5s 0-60.

Gas? $2 a gallon? Where? Cali dropped as low as $2.29 where I lived. Now it's going back up to close to $2.90 now. At one point, gas was $4.70. T_T
I never had hybrid cars, but I am assuming that because of their extra weight they would be more stable and would have more grip on snow than identical counterparts, like this camry s.

V6 0-60 is a pretty good engine as it goes pretty fast in around 5/6 sec I think.
Roman, paddle shifters are part of Camry since 2013! Stop making a deal just because American made cars rip you off in added value (gadgets) to their car with same old engines. Ford is catching up I think, more power to them.

Hybrid is much better choice, I mean come on, difference is only 16 hps which is not that much while Hybrid has almost twice better mpg. in 0-60 also v6 makes like 6 secs or 6.5 somewhere while hybrid makes 7.2 secs. Its not big difference and definetly should not cost 4000 $ more than the hybrid version, its not even that much faster almost the same power with alot more mpg and cost to buy the car, I say v6 camry is bullshit Unless you wanna drift or something but even If you want that from your car you should not buy camry at all. So V6 here loses big time I think

GT6SuzukaTimeTrials Camry more reliable. Accord used to be good but after removing the double wishbone suspension and that dreadful CVR which is known to have issues... Yeah Camry > Accord overall.

I owned a Camry Hybrid (2007). Never again. Most boring car in the world. Give me a German luxury sedan, or if that's too expensive, a Mazda6 or Subaru Outback. With Mazda6 I can have fun driving, or with an Outback I can have fun *where* I'm driving. Why get the worst of both worlds with the Camry?
