    Great video! Loads of information. Food for thought though can you film in 4 or 5k, makes the details really stand out if watching on a TV.

    I have a couple questions mate. Should you wear gloves while handling hammered coins? What gloves do you wear? And whats the best way to store/display the coins? I notice you have a large tray box. I'm in the states by the way.

    • @TheHammeredCorner
      @TheHammeredCorner  Před 3 lety +2

      Hello there. Gloves are optional, technically the oils from your hands will always transfer over to the coins and hardcore collectors with expensive coins (thousands of $$) will wear coins, same with big auction houses. Personally, most people like to hand their coins and the oils won’t play ever play a big part on the coins in the short term. I wear them because it looks better for the videos! In terms of storage, a mahogany cabinet is the best way to go. Do not use any of their wood, and buy from reputable coin box makers like ‘Peter Nichols’. Avoid cheap wooden boxes that doesn’t specify the wood, as they’ll be made from cheap wood and often glue. Both cheap wood and glue release fumes over time that are harmful to your coins and will eventually over time destroy them. Mahogany releases a natural gass that tones them naturally over time and is the conservation of choice. If you don’t want to spend that money on one, buy a cheap coin tray for the time being, avoid plastic sleeves or capsules, anything with acid in as well. Hope this helps 😃
