You should have put Sam's amazing Magic Spoon ad from BB.
Let's try some truth in advertising and go with Magic Coke Spoon next.
Do a biographics on Simo Häyhä. He was and still is the greatest sniper of all time.
Simon...is a CERIAL KILLER...Allegedly. This IS PETER and I know...
They should finally give you the Promo Code "0G" for your BB ad reads for Magic Spoon...
You know, since they're actually writing "0G sugar" on their product and we - obviously - are your OGs...would be neat ;)
Could we get a video on the Pinkerton Agency? Being a detective agency that also supplies hired guns sounds like an interesting set up!
Yeah they were/are a pretty fucked up organization over the years
I believe he already did one on the Pinkertons
Yeah I'm down with this idea 💡😏
I would watch that. 👍👍👍
I've heard a podcast about them.... But need it here too!
Can you do one on Joe Medicine Crow. He was a Native American writer, historian and war chief of the Crow Nation and the last Plains Indian war chief, which he managed to achieve while serving in WWII completing all four tasks required to become a war chief: touching an enemy without killing him (counting coup), taking an enemy's weapon, leading a successful war party, and stealing an enemy's horse and this is only part of this True Native American Badass.
We.need more.on Native Americans.
That sounds like something I'd enjoy.
@@archstanton6102 And less of their oppressors, like the Presidents.

Love to see this
I live in Cheyenne WY, Willie Nickell's grave is here, and the jail Horn was kept in still stands.
That is so cool!! Wild Bill Hickock was apparently there with Calamity Jane at one time. Even more surrealistictly, the fashion Icon and future Editor in Chief of Vogue Magazine in the 1960s was in Cheyenne, Wyoming as a young girl during some outbreak of disease that had her mother sending her, her sister, and her French maid to the wilds to avoid illness....they learned to ride horses and talk to cowboys....
She LOVED being out there, and in the future, would send models and photographers to wild towns all over America, creating some of the most iconic photographs of all time....
@@christineparis5607 that is cool! Didn't know that about Vogue!
Yes Wild Bill was here, he passed through many times (I was born here, so the history of the city is pretty interesting) along with the fact downtown is still VERY similar to how it was in the 1800's (obvious modernization has occurred) but many of the buildings are from that time period.
The gallows from which Tom Horn was hung from didn't fully be dismantled until I was young (70's) but the court house it was next to (across the street from the original jail) still stands today.
Thank you so much for sharing with me! I greatly appreciate it!

One of my dream ideas is to travel America for a few years and look at our history, not just the big stuff, but the minor characters and events as well. I could go to museums for the rest of my life, I never get tired of history, and have collected thousands of memoirs from the 1800s on. I was completely fascinated as a kid, and now, as an adult, that what I spent every extra dollar on, old books, I hope to be able to finish a book I'm writing based on my grandmother, who grew up in West Texas and ended up in Hollywood! Hard to believe, I know! There are so many places to go to, I know I'll be in my 80s going, "I'm just getting started!"....😀
That's pretty cool 👍👍👍
“ Shredrick “ has to be one of the most badass names for a dog ever/. It’s simple and right to the point,
I hope he ended the guy that shot his dog
I am the great grandson of Tom. My mother is Pamela Horn. Close to the great Ross Perot. Anyway I have a family book of every horn that dates back to the early 1800s.
The craziest thing about my story is that Shedrick was my nick name Growing up my entire life. It was a baseball nickname that my coach gave me. It stood for ‘bringing the tools to the Shed’ a baseball term used often. My real name is Cedric. My nick name is Shedrick.. Pretty crazy
Feel like Shredrick would be a badass name for a cat, actually!
That’s quite the German name considering Tom was of German descent.
"Dog" best name
Played by Steve McQueen in one of his final roles in 1980.
Simon: "I've done shows about serial killers, but never cereal killers..."
".....but you certainly can be a cereal killer Ledgend with Magic Spoon!!!!!"

His cell mate gave my Grandparents his Saxophone. My great aunt woke up one night when she was 5 and heard a noise outside. They were rustling horses out of my Great Grandparents place. She went out and told them to stop as she didn't want to walk 5 miles to school. They laughed and told her ok. She said she knew who they were but wouldn't tell anyone if they left her horse. They agreed and left all the horses. My dad's father was part of his group and would tell my dad stories when he was little about Tom.
Thank you for sharing!:-) 🖖
It was my birthday two weeks ago. I like Swiss cheese. I prefer fresh ground coffee but sometimes I drink instant. I'm out of white candles. I have a Rottweiler named muffin, and a cat named poodle boots. Muffin doesn't answer to his name . It was cold today so I got up late, I usually get up early. My toes are cold right now. Despite the hype Pop-Tarts suck. The Ouija board was invented in 1891. My favorite color is purple. I identify as a straight cis white male goth lightweight combat chassis/ weapons platform. My pronouns are God Emperor and Mi Lord. Every 60 seconds in Africa a minute passes. I couldn't find my lighter for an hour today. I lived in Wyoming all my life. I knew a cattle inspector that said Tom Horn was at his grandfather's ranch at the time he was supposed to have killed the young boy. The cattle association which were a bunch of rich guys that owned most of Wyoming. Horn had completed his usefulness and they wanted to be rid of him.
Yeah, that's the legend. He literally knew where the bodies were buried. Not saying he didn't kill men and boys in cold blood. I'm just saying that there were many powerful people that didn't like him talking about who got killed.
As a life long Wyoming resident, I think this is the best episode yet.
Ideas/requests for Wild West Biographics videos:

Doc Holliday: “I’m Your Huckleberry.”

Ah, I see that all wild west boys were already born with a 'stashe
Simon is a whole series of immaculate vibes
Steve McQueen portrayed him in the 1980 movie Tom Horn, made him look like a nice guy when he was far from it.
Nice guy? These were different times. Nice guys, like today, finished last. You had to be a bit brutal to survive back then. Billy the Kid was not a nice guy. Nor was Wyatt Earp or Bass Reeves.
We need to stop judging people of the past by our own standards in order to make ourselves *feel* good.
Also, the mock trial in the 1990s, using our enlightened standards, acquitted him.
@@samsoncrosswood7259 Most people bakc then were nice guys who didn't kill. If the standards back then were so different why was he frequently fired or hanged? Stop aggrandizing criminals.
@@zarasbazaar He was frequently fired, but only hanged once LOL
@@zarasbazaar People back then used to beat other men near to death for an insult, people shot each other over grazing land, shooting a man's dog or horse would get you dead as a door nail and no one would say anything. Tom Horn was a hired killer, there is a difference, that is why he was fired and ended up hanged.
@@deanfirnatine7814 That sounds like West Virginia right now.
_"I never ate a bug that big before..."_ ~ Steve McQueen, as Tom Horn.
“You’re the sickest looking lot of sheriffs I ever seen”
Tom Horn
An interesting take on the man was given in 1979 TV miniseries "Mr. Horn," starring David Carradine, Richard Widmark and Karen Black. There are many fictional aspects but there is a key phrase: asked whether it's true he has killed a hundred men, he says, "a thousand. The more they think I have done, the less I have to do. Fear serves me. The fear they have of me."
Maybe his bragging wasn't a psychological flaw, but a weapon that ultimately killed himself.
$10 for a box of cereal = I'll pass. For $10 it better taste like ambrosia or Miss America's pvssy.

A biographics video to end the week is like adding fresh milk to my favourite cereal
I live near browns park where dart and rash were killed, my neighbor found isom darts branding iron in a tree while out riding. I have also worked on the 2 bar ranchs equipment, ironically they are one of the largest sheep ranchs in the state after waging a war against them a hundred years ago.
Come on his iron just hanging in a tree tell now
I personally believe Tom Horn got railroaded on his trial it says a lot about the man’s character when nobody in the county wanted to pull the lever when he got hanged
He deffently got railroaded he was my grate grate grate uncle storys told threw history in my family about him and from what you dont hear of tom horn brother was my uncle charlie all we got from then is chairs passed down in history from then.,the stories told down family history i go beliving books only go by what someone else thinks not always fact.,i belive my family on how he was insted.
Great video! I learn more history from Simon than public schools ever hoped to offer me. Thank you Simon and team.
I just watched a movie about Tom Horn yesterday and today you happen to fill the gaps I was wondering about today. Thanks Simon
What are the odds on that??
Sams edit for magic spoon on bb was f*ckin awsome xD
At this point I'm convinced Magic spoon offers no actual financial incentive for the videos.....they're just Simon's Peanut butter Cereal Plug that he re-ups with in exchange for the sponsorship.
I didn't pay attention in world history class in highschool. Only now do I want to know it and Simon has provided an Avenue for me to learn about Plato, Aristotle, julius Caesar, and so many more. Thankyou Simon.
Finally - someone admits that they didn't pay attention in history class! Everyone else just says, "Why weren't we taught this in school??"
Simon I love your videos! I wish that you would make a video on Orin Porter Rockwell.
Hey could you please do a biographics on bert trautman. He played in the FA cup final with a broken neck. But before that he was a member of the hitler youth, Luftwaffe, paratrooper and a prisoner of war during WW2.
Man, this guy really toots his own Horn...

*IS CEREAL A SOUP OR A SALAD?*
I need answers!
Cereal is a vegetable product, so I’m going with a very wet salad.
Cereals are grains. It is neither soup or salad. Who eats it determines how they prepare it.
Several years ago my wife and I were wandering through Columbia cemetery in Boulder Colorado, which is a historically old place, with lots of interesting tombstones, and came across Tom Horn's grave. It surprised me, as I knew Horn died in Wyoming, but didn't know he was buried in Boulder.
I thought Tom was buried in Wyoming as well.

"The Kindness of Strange Farmers" - great title for a movie.
I liked the idea of the farmers washing his clothes for him ... !
Commenting before watching. Tom horn is left out of a lot oh history and should be remembered better. Love the channel simon.
Recognized the name from the book Apache Wars I read a couple years ago. Horn is a character.
Tom Horn is one of my favorite people from the Old West.
Braggart or not, he was a hero. He got railroaded in his trial.
Do a video on Carole Landis her life story is both heartbreaking and fascinating

Cedric, I am a researcher and would love to email you for family stories. The problem with a lot of "history" is no family stories or stories from boots on the ground. Now, Tom wasn't married that we know of, unless to an Apache common law wife and/or he didn't hang? So I'm very curious about your history. It's far past time for truthful and/or filled in history!
