I was a pretty interesting video and I seen the movie good fellows and I always had a feeling that I was never incarnation and one of the characters in the movie. 😎
Nordvpn keeps logs and doesn't disclose when they get hacked and this data gets stolen.
Stop advertising wrong facts!
Do more mobster ones that can parallel movies like you did. Like casino. Anyone in that
Did that scene happen for real.
What about Petain
“I’m gonna hit the like button, hit the like button” - Jimmy Two Times
Haha underrated comment.
Classic!
Classic!
We need a jimmy two times stand-alone film
@@eoinmacdonnchadha5682 well it would have to have a sequel.
The scene "How am I funny" between Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta is one of the best scenes in the film.
That was Joe Pesci's idea. He actually saw the exact same thing happen in real life.
Down to mixing the meatballs and sauce
@@Eidelmania : Yes indeed, Pesci is an amazing actor.
Funny how
If I'm not mistaken that scene was improvised.
One of the greatest movie endings. The transition of Liotta on the witness stand to standing in a bathrobe picking up a newspaper on his front step in a non-descript housing development is tremendous.
As if it was all just the fantasy of the regular guys watching the film
One day, some of the kids from the neighborhood carried my mother's groceries all the way home. You know why? It was out of respect.
Kids clearly shitting themselves and hearing stories about henry blowing up cars.... yeah definetely out of "respect"
No, it's because Henry never had the making of a varsity athlete.
I would bet this story isn't true. Hill glorified himself a lot in the book.
Someone nicked the car...
So Goodfellas premiered on the day I was born, watch it every year as a birthday tradition
Gets better each time!
I love that.
That’s pretty stellar bruv 💪🏾💪🏾💯
Whrrroooooghhh
Based on my math, you're getting old. 😂
"One of the greatest crime movies of all time."
EXCUSE ME, One of the greatest FILMS of all time ;)
not even top 10, as someone who has a vertigo profile picture i thought you’d know that.
@@kiaandavids755 know what exactly?
Personally I enjoyed Irishman and casino a bit more than goodfellas They are both good throught the whole movie. Goodfellas falls apart when he gets into drugs. But this is my opinion
@@joshflynn2173 personally I think Goodfellas is a perfect movie that is basically a two hour and a half film that feels like 60 minutes. I've always found casino to be a solid movie but never great at any point. The Irishman though, I think is one of scorsese's best films
@@highwind1991 Cool. Dont get me wrong all are amazing, joe pesci in goodfellas was hilarious yet scary and I hated him lol
Michael Franzese called him ugly in the most respectful way. He said “first of all, Henry didn’t look like Ray Liota who portrayed him in the movie.” 😂
“Am I a fucking clown, do I look like I’m here to amuse you?” Lol loved that scene in the movie
That was from Pesci, he requested the scene that played out infront of him years ago
@@tc4423
Yes it was improvised by Pesci.
So did everyone else.
@@matthewbittenbender9191 I'm pretty sure Pesci was the only one to know apart from Scorsese on that.
@@stephenpriest2766 that was the genius of it. Pesci made it believable. A man that suffers no consequences for his actions even among his mobster friends...? That's power.
The magic of movies, purposely leaving out certain parts of Henry's crimes so the audience can sympathize with him a little more. Brilliant!
1:25 - Chapter 1 - Early years
5:05 - Mid roll ads
6:15 - Chapter 2 - One for the family
11:00 - Chapter 3 - Bye bye billy batts
13:25 - Chapter 4 - The lufthansa heist
16:00 - Chapter 5 - Life after the mob
The real reason Burke and DeSimone killed Batts was because they took over Batts rackets while he was in prison. They had no intention of paying him or giving those rackets back, so they killed him. It really had nothing to do with Batts insulting DeSimone. Like almost everything in the mob, it was related to money.
and John Gotti was the one who beat and killed DeSimone
@@ellisd3165 “allegedly” you fools watch too many movies
And Paulie was involved too!
I know misinformation in this video
Wares there's money anything goes, that's all.its over money money money and wot some greedy people will do to get it is horrible , godbless you top comment,
Even in his sixties, Hill walked like he thought he was a gangster.
Goodfellas is my all time favorite film so let me tell you when I saw this notification I clicked so fast. I have literally never clicked on a notification so quickly.
Mine too dude! Since covid hit in march last year I've watched it 9 times lol
I've seen it literally about 30 times. And Casino, another one of Scorsese's greatest films. If you haven't seen it, you absolutely must.
The first time I saw it back in the 90's, I couldn't believe how people didn't take it as such a masterpiece it it revered these days.
Nice dp.
This is something I didn’t know I wanted, but I’m so glad that you did. Thanks, Simon and Biographics!
You never seen Goodfellas?

@@mcspikesky Nah, I actually just like the video and the creators. They put out content that a lot of people enjoy and appreciate, which I’m assuming is something you can’t relate to.
At this point you can probably add anything you want after this name and it would be believable.
You should check out his casual criminalist station
As far back as I can remember, I always loved this channel.
For anyone else interested for more background on Henry Hill watch Michael Franzese’s video on the movie! He knew quite a few of the people in henry’s life and was even mentioned in the movie. anyways awesome biographics dude!!
I’ve seen this. Michael said he was in the theater with his wife. She’s like you didn’t know these people did you? He said no and then his name gets dropped in the movie n he’s like 🤦🏻♂️😂😂
It's a good one. According to him, Goodfellas is mostly true and very accurate when depicting mob life. Hill did make himself seem more important than he really was, which doesn't surprise me.
Great Channel
A fictional version of Michael Franzese is in the movie

Ever since I saw goodfellas I wanted a biographics on Henry hill
U musta just saw it recently lop
When he had to go straight, all he could do was be a short-order cook.
now that reminds me of "Frankie and Johnnie "
Most criminals have no marketable skills.

Hill was a clever and cunning sociopath who made a lot of money but was ultimately destroyed by drink and drugs. That's what addictions do to you.
I watched a BBC video on Hill, he just getting out of the clink he was in and out of jail. He was a total alcoholic and was a cook at a bar when he died.
My grandad drove UPS van in the 60s and his stop off was the luthhansa airport and he actually was robbed by Jimmy Burke.
What an honour
Meet him when I was in high school. It was during U.S. History class we watched Goodfellas anx well the teacher said he had a surprised guest. He came in abd sat down and just talked about his life and somethings Hollywood got wrong. He was a really nice man and told us stay in school
That’s honestly insane
I find it curious that in Goodfellas Henry Hill is quite open about all the things which he was caught for, but all that other harsher stuff? He was only peripherally aware of them happening.
"100 dollars just to keep the ice cold" Nas
Jay-Z also said it on "Thank You"

This was great, I love your videos but I'm a huge Goodfellas fan and this was really cool, good job Simon.
It's amazing how few liberties Goodfellas took with the facts. If you had to do a report on Henry Hill you could just watch the film and have just about all you need.
Goodfellas is my favorite movie, and this just made my day.
Thank you Simon!
As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster
Funny how?
You're a funny guy
God, I can ONLY hear Chris D'Elia when I read that lmao.

More than president?
One of my favorite interviews I ever did was with Henry Hill. Fascinating man.
Oh wow, that's awesome. Is there a video of said interview?
@@joshuaprice8501 I wish! It was for a radio station, so I have an audio file somewhere.
That's amazing!!!! Im Sicilian on my mother's side when I was young I met John Gotti when he came to dinner at my great aunt's home one Sunday.
I met him one time at a bar in Seattle. He asked me if I ever saw the movie Goodfellas. I told him it was one of my favorite movies. Then he told me that he was Henry Hill. I didn't believe because he seemed a bit haggard and his arm was in a sling; apparently he'd just been released from the hospital. I remember he was with a black guy that he called "Stacks." After he said that, I just kind of laughed and said okay. I think it was someone that was helping him out. I still didn't quite believe him, though. Anyway, a few weeks later I saw the same guy I'd seen at the bar on a local evening tv show. They were doing a story on him. It absolutely blew my mind. Turns out he was telling the truth. And even though his story seemed sketchy at the time, he was a really nice guy. I wish I'd known.
I interviewed michael corleone
You know you’re hooked when you look forward to getting home for the day to kick back on the couch and fire up a Simon video lol
Now I wannna go and watch Goodfellas
You’re the best dude, this is just what I needed !!
He was involved in the Boston College basketball point-shaving scandal in the late 70s, as well.
Great video and interesting story. You should do a video on Donnie Brasco sometime!
During first five minutes you described A Bronx Tale. 👍🏽
Thats awesome! One of my favortie movies! Would love to see one about Anthony spilotro!
Great content. Thanks Simon!
I was just sitting here thinking I need a good biographics/geographics video
The Mafia really doesn't have a great retirement program
I like the scene where he's making sauce (gravy) and meatballs for dinner while also cutting coke. Then he starts talking faster about all the stuff he has to get done. Selling some pistols, going by his girlfriend's house and the helicopter is following him. Its classic.
That scene stresses me out
Was waiting for this one!
The way he says mafia makes me laughia.

Hill's life in witness protection was far more interesting.
After he left witness protection he became a cook in North Platte, Nebraska. He was a really good cook. He was also a SUPER nice guy!
You know what I need more than I do Simon ❤
Ex-mobster Michael Franzese commented on what his impressions of Henry Hill were from the Goodfellas era, and Franzese thought Hill just seemed lost and unable to escape from addiction(s); a far cry from Hill's portrayal as a tough guy with influence in the Lucchese crime family.
YES! FINALLY! Henry Hill!!
I'm so used to mistakes on so many other CZcams sites that when referencing 1979 with 1969 on the screen. A first. Great content as always..
Awesome video, missed an interesting fact about his time in school though.
According to History Buffs (as well as a few other documentaries) Hill was probably somewhere on spectrum, with ADHD and some mild Dyslexia. Seeing as Hill was in grade school in the 50's and neither of those were diagnosed yet, teachers wrote him off as a bad student which pushed him away from school even more. Interesting to think if the teachers treated him different he may have had an entirely different life.
I don't think he would have been on the spectrum. He wouldnt have lasted so long in a life of crime.
@@silvervalleystudios2486 It wouldnt be hard for people with high functioning ASD to live a mostly normal life, it would just make some aspects harder, like for example, reading, or understanding numbers. Or if he had ADHD he just would have been more distractible.
Just because someone is on the spectrum doesnt mean they are incapable
@@seraph535 It's not so much about capability. I think the traits like fussy eating, the fidgeting, etc would have rubbed up the wiseguys the wrong way.
@@silvervalleystudios2486 Hard disagree. Technically everyone is on the spectrum, it doesn't put you at a disadvantage in the rest of the world to know where you fall on there. Hill was great with numbers but had poor social skills. I'd very much believe it.

He was hilarious whenever he was on The Howard Stern Show
His drunkin laugh and claims of being sober were classic
Henry was on the Howard Stern show and when he was very Drunk admitted that he killed 3 Guys on Paul Varios order. Henry seemed very sorry and sad about the murders,....but then he was pretty drunk too!

About time
Knowing next to nothing about Goodfellas, this was an extremely interesting and informative video for me
The best scene in Goodfellas - Paul Sorvino slicing garlic with a razor in a prison cell, cooking homemade Italian food with his mafia crew.

There’s a docu miniseries of the Irish mob. It talks about Henry Hill and features him himself. Ends with Henry saying “I’ll outlive all these bastards” and followed by “Henry Hill: 1943-2012”.
With knowing that Hank is the diminutive name of Henry now all I got running through my head is, "I sell cocaine and cocaine accessories."

The funny thing is that they changed Jimmy Burke's name in the movie to his actual name, Jimmy Conway. Burke was the name of his foster family.
