Man this guy is doing it right. Funny, wry, graceful and with a head full of amazing musical history, and he still makes interesting and compelling music. I think I like everything he's ever done, to one degree or another, and some of his stuff is foundational for me. WELL PLAYED, SIR
He always dressed well..I love style..but the music is what gets me.. sounding so fresh..loved his music for 30 plus years
The great Kid Congo Powers !!!!!!!!
Saw Kid Kongo with both The Gun Club and Nick Cave back in the day. Marvellous guitarist and seems a nice guy too
+ Cramps
I missed him playing live with Cave and Cramps but with Gun Club he blew my mind away as often did on his records I collect
P. Houdement
That solo bit that closes the first song is nice. Delicate and mystical.
He got a special touch.. for example, at the time Psychedelic Jungle seemed a not totally 'cramped' album, but after so much time I find so amazing that magical finess and even sweetness emerging from that particular album of the most raw band in rock'n'roll history
So psyched to be opening up for them in september!! ROCK!!!!
Great. Love the guitar tones and tremolo.
Maybe my new favourite KEXP show..
love kid congo & the pink monkey birds 👍🏻👌🏻
That is my new favorite drummer. Yet another reason to love Kid Congo.
It's impossible to be more cool than Kid Congo!
They got style, He's got a cool jacket on
Yeah, he does.
Link Wray heritage for sure.
Alex Orozc
I love that term, “Link Wray heritage”
Loved him way back with Gun Club ( Jack on Fire ) live spain
Alyssa Kelley yep, he’s got some CV, Gun Club, The Cramps, Bad Seeds
@@andrewgreen5986 Conjure Man sounds like the epic music from FORBIDDEN pLANET
il est excellent, dans tous ses choix musicaux!!! belle personnalité solaire
Great drumming.
and awesome drummer!
the soundtrack our lives... rock n roll yeah
GARAGE ROCK AWESOME
Pure Style & Grace
First time I've knowingly listened to him. I hear pure 1960s retro, and garage psyche. Film soundtracks. John Cippolina, The guitarist/s from Love, The B-52s- and no surprise to learn he was in The Cramps
Kid congo. Is king..i saw him many times..w cramps..w gun club w nick cave..w fur bible and more..i really hope to meet him someday..❤❤❤❤❤❤..just love
Still having fun with it. Still fresh.
Great performance!
this is dope
This stripped down band composition is so good!
This restores my faith in rock n' roll.
Cool... Very Cool. Thanks.
Outstanding still in 2023!
Legend...
Great thanks!
Much more class than every one else !
Their song "Lurch" is one go-to Halloween classic!
Love this!
One of the 80`s survivors...
Solid.
'I Don't Like ' reminds me of the Urinals 'I'm a Bug..' Awesome.
That drummer is amazing.
Yeah!
Stay sick (the Cramps album)....hahahhaha wonderful!
GENIO!!!!!!!
Desde México!!!!!!!... Que chido suenan!!!!!.....
Kids from LA Calif and I believe the other vatos are from El Paso TX.
buena onda kid Congo!
The killer bass on "Bubble Trouble" !! 💀💀💀
Fucking legend.
WOW
great sound, who slobbered up the guitars, though? btw, his what's in my bag segment is supercool, too.
KCP is so COOL :)
THIS GUY'S KILLER
there was already 60's garage all throughout the 90's and into the 2000's... this seems like the culmination of it being incredibly just one giant cover of the Nuggets compilation. This guy's 60's 45rpm collection must be insane. But at this point it just seems like a caricature of a lost underground era.
Cool
i don`t like i don`t i don...
RADICAM DOPE!!!
They're opening for The Damned tonight.
I wanna write music with him SO badly...
I say God Damn, this is de shit fo' sho'. Kid Congo is A #1!
What is this and why it sounds so cool? He's not even singing and it sounds like he is in tune, wtf.
This sound only can make are those who has the magic of rock 'n roll, as Kid Congo.
Where do you find paperclips that big? Where?
It's a safety pin ;)
What is the name of the electronic instrument that Kid plays with his guitar?? (Sorry for my english) // ¿¿cual es el nombre del instrumento q ocupa kid y toca pasando el clavijero de la guitarra sobre el??
Korg kaospad
That intro though...
Hahahahahaha his final word "stay sick" kinda haunting......considering Sea-town first case confirm covid-19 years later
Second one reminds me of the B52's. Cool.
Some smooth squawking
My only suggestion is to have the Archie picture in there somewhere
Whats the name of that neat little machine/pad Kid uses at 10:18?
It’s a Korg Kaoss Pad, an early one at that.
great, i wish they had play haunted head!
cool, but you have to be in small-town/open-mic mode to get the gist of what's going on here!
whats is the model of the guitarr?
NUM 28 It's a vintage Mosrite Combo.
El Twang okas, but the kid congo guitar -_-
NUM 28 Fender Stratocaster.
+Kutna Horum Squier Strat, to be more precise.
What guitar is not Kid Congo using in this vid?
A Mosrite
Ty
No, Kid Congo is playing a Fender Stratocaster, likely a 1980's made in Mexico model, think those are his preferred guitars.
@@ten10strips85 ya it's a Squire
ten10strips I thought it was a JV Japanese model..
Lou Reed influence here
It looks like the guy doing the interview aint giving a shit about the kid.
nice ear candy
is the drummer yawning at 15:50? 😂
No Kiki Solis :(
The Real Psycho Punk....?
are you sure that's not Fred Armisen?
Fred channels Kid, not the other way around
Kid Congo performed at Comet Ping Pong and is mentioned in the Wikileaks emails: dnc-emails/emailid/1551
That's a Big Ass Dog turns out pizzagate was really much bigger...and it extends to all these shitty ass bands that routinely play for these sick all ages late night shows.
Can you explain wtf does it mean? I know about pizzagate but this is interesting and I don't get a thing. How is this his email and how is he involved in this? I'm not here to argue, just want to understand :)
Comet is a great venue, you should see a show there some time.
The good british sound loved it!
kid once said "I don't play guitar, I do musical stylings"...um .his guitar is a lot better than his "vocal stylings"..
For some spastic reason I keep on imagining a imaginary middle aged Jim Morrison doing the vocals in this . Go figure .
I dont like. Sounds like Mark e smith
Really doesn't
As the saying goes. Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one.
Absolute crap.
Mary Ratliff let’s hear you do better dipshit
Mary Ratliff It's rebel music. Not meant for every day blokes.
la esencia misma del puto rock and roll me cago en dios!! que mierda tan buena
