  • In this video we will show a few spots we visited on a food tour through Pitillal!
For transparency purposes, Vallarta Food Tours let us tag along on one of their food tours for free, but all thoughts and opinions are our own! I've been a long time fan of their tours since I first took one in 2016 :D

In 2014 I created my CZcams account "Tourist to Local" as a way to document my study abroad adventure in Chile. Over 6 years later, Tourist to Local has turned into a travel community on CZcams that is focused on sharing our favorite travel memories. Along with my husband, Martín from Bitácora de Viajero, we make bilingual videos providing tips and guides to create memorable and unique vacations. Travel is attainable, and our goal is to show you how you can travel too, whether it's for a weekend or a year!

Vallerta Food Tours have the best tours! We were in love with the one we did in PV. DID NOT leave hungry!

Glad you covered el pitillal. There is so much more to Puerto Vallarta than just el centro and zona romantica. Food in El Pitillal is bomb as well.

Always start with a Churro! When we make it down to PV monthly, it is tough to get us out of El Cerro/El Centro/Old Town. Look forward to heading to Pitillal for food sometime soon!

I always hang out in old town or romatic zone, but this time I plan on going to Birreria Robles in Pitillal because I love birria de res

One of my favorite restaurants was in Pitillal - La Ribera - I'm afraid it's gone now, though.

Be careful. We have been going to Mexico for 10 years. Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and Puerto Vallarta. The only place we have gotten sick is Pitillal. We thought the same thing .. eat where the locals eat. We wanted birria. We think we got sick on the fresh vegies served with it.

Seasoned travelers know to avoid raw veggies when traveling. Always eat well cooked, seafood, meats, and veggies, or fruit that has been well washed and peeled either by yourself or in front of you. Been traveling all my life, and have never gotten ill of off local foods following a few simple steps such as these.

I’ve heard that it’s the water that is used to wash the veggies and fruits with that can make a person sick .
