This was the last show of a two month tour, after a world tour this summer. They did so much this year. I’m not surprised they were sooo tired. When I saw them in November (2nd show of the Christmas tour) they didn’t sing this, but also his mother in law that I met in the merch line said he wasn’t feeling well (definitely a bonus meeting his in laws for me). They got sick this tour and still pushed through, the sick member sang off stage with a video feed. I think they did this song on the last show because it’s the “home town” show for the trio and the end of the tour.

  • @jcs1025

This was really good being the first time they performed it live anywhere.

  • @Karen-Campos

I’ve seen their Christmas concert 2x and The love they have for each other & the fun they have with each other is so obvious, it gives new insight into why they sound so good together! Great reaction.

If you’ve ever seen Kirstie in a tight dress or crop top, you’ll notice the tightness of her core. She can sing those notes all day because she’s never straining or tired. As time has gone by, you can hear the difference between when they started, PTX really started training in 2018 with personal trainers to get and stay strong. As a result, Kirstie has improved her lower register. She gives more goosebumps per pound than most singers in the world. She’s quite a machine, and a masterpiece of God.

  • @vmcgriff

I hope you can take the chance to go watched the official video - even if you don’t record it. I don’t know what date this was recorded, but they have been on this Christmas Concert Tour since mid-November! They are all exhausted!! None of them performed this as well as they did back when their voices were rested. Love your reactions!! Hope you had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! ❤🙌🏻❤

  • @NanacatiraV

I believe most of the members were sick by the end of the tour, but still pulled through for the fans

  • @hernameispekka_Rebecca

This is the first and only time they performed it live, so I assume they decided it was not sustainable/worth it doing it for 25-ish more dates. Probably a good choice since both Scott and Mitch managed to get sick during tour as well. Such a grueling time to tour, trying to not get sick.

Amazing reactions! I am a HUGE Pentatonix fan. Saw them live in Jacksonville, FL last year. My fav is "My Heart With You". Actually I think you have already reacted to it. Really enjoy your reactions!

  • @Pamela_T

I would love for you to react to the official video, as the sound is so much better. I think the sound here is quite distorted.... possibly not a great recording device. That distance from the stage, the harmonies should have been more blended. Maybe it was attributed to the venue or the sound system wasn't set correctly. I have had seats in previous concerts, further back ...not on the floor, and blend was so much better.

  • @jcs1025

I’m thankful for t these fancam videos - some of the most iconic PTX performances are only captured on fancam. But the downside is it doesn’t pick up everything happening in that room. I’ve seen them live a few times, and you physically feel Matt’s bass, and the overall sound quality is so much better. I find the fancam’s wash out the percussion and bass. Again, thankful for them, but I’m sure it’s to hard doing an analysis to them.

  • @faebrookeglen5169

Blue/Pink costumes = 1st half of the show. Palm Desert was actually the first show of the Christmas tour. They dropped it by the time I got to see them in Kansas City.

  • @nickerpsg1

Live is great, but there is lots of distortion because it was hearing them through a cellphone. If you want a real treat, cover their official video of that song....one of their BEST ever !!!

  • @barbaragoodwin5799

This is the first time watching your channel. Very impressed and enjoyed your comments. Just subbed!😊

  • @rogerramjet5214

You should really watch the official video of them singing this in the VEVO studio....the quality of the performance is exquisite! I saw Pentatonix live last August, and unless you can get a seat within the first few rows, it's not worth it. I'd rather see them in the videos.....and the quality is not as good either as in the videos. Still my favorite group of all........they are amazing!

  • @marthalikens482

You can wish all you want!! PTX IS PTX!! IF YOU DONT LIKE THEM STAY AWAY!! DO NOT CRITICIZE!! Look where your at then look where their at!!

  • @gemmamartin5157

We are in the 12 days of Christmas! The season doesn't complete until 6th January! That's when my decs come down, just in time for my daughter's 11th birthday on 7th! xx

  • @perfectkismet

I hadn't seen this recording. At the end of Kirstin's verse when the lead dropped out and it went a little weird... that was Mitch missing his line before his belt 😅 Mitch-y, ya only had like 3 lines, I feel deprived!

  • @ShinyElfriend

I was disappointed that they didn't do this when I saw them in December, but it is really a belt-fest with about four separate climax moments, and I think they had to save their vocals for the long haul - a VERY long haul this year. I saw them three times in three different tours in one year. Its an incredibly lovely arrangement. It was a long time ago when Avi was still bass, but a really well recorded live show is the Popspring 2016 video, recorded by MTV, which includes three original PTX songs plus their Evolution of Michael Jackson. In fact, I think that version of the Evolution of MJ is even better than their original video (which was also live). It is also the very best version of their amazing song "Can't Sleep Love." Now that I am thinking of it, all their Evolution videos are recorded live. A couple of more recent ones that have Matt in them are Evolution of Ariana Grande, and Evolution of Rihanna (and I can't recommend this without also suggesting a double reaction to the Evolution of Rihanna and the Rihanna Anti Medley by Superfruit - which is just Scott and Mitch and a couple of microphones singing their faces off). Other Evolutions from the Avi era are their early, viral, Evolution of Music, and their Evolution of Beyonce as well as the MJ. A truly awful live recording that, even so, is not to be missed, is another from 2016 that focuses almost solely on Mitch having a jet leg and Red Bull induced peak performance, the video is Aha Singapore Star Vista.

  • @terriepurkey708

Scott has said in concerts & interviews that he likes changing up his lead runs etc so it doesn't get boring. Every fan video I've seen of just about any song proves that to be true. Sometimes more successful than others. It's unfortunate it's such a poor recording; Mitch's and Matt's parts are almost nonexistent. It's worth your time to watch the studio version to hear what it's intended to be (even though touched up a bit). Enjoyed your analysis.
