Originally This anthem was a love song about 1100 yrs ago.
Then in Meiji period about 150 yrs ago, they chose it as an anthem of Japan.
From about 500 yrs ago the original type of the song was being sung as a song to hope long life, and also still nowadays.
    Meanings ( nowadays version)
    Kimi ga yo wa
( I hope you and your family )
    Chiyo ni yachiyo ni
( will live in peace a long long time)
    Sazareishi no
( like a stone in a riverside)*sazareishi means that it’s a big stone made by many small stones with rolling from upside of the river.
    Iwaoto narite
( is rolling over, and getting bigger with some small stones)
    Koke no musu made
( for a long time like moss grow)

An extremely rich culture. It's a society where everyone is on the same sheet of music, and that is why i can understand that they don't want foreigners living amongst them (only visitors), because when you don't understand the culture, but you live/work with them, then you just ruin everything, you ruin the society. *"Diversity is a strength" is actually a feel-good lie.* The reality is that homogeneity is a strength (Cruise-ship executives know this, that is why they always have crews of mixed background working together, least the crew gets united and starts making demands upon management). Look at prison, people entering that environment naturally seek other people who "look like themselves" for safety & support. Join the military, you'll see exactly the same thing.... Now, look at Lebanon, Rwanda in 1994, Ethopia (societies with "strong diversity" that splits fractures along religious or ethnic lines resulting in disaster). Now, look at South Korea (a racially homogenous ethno state), low crime, high income, high IQ, high literacy. I can give you examples all day long.
