    In the 2001 movie "The Fast and the Furious," Dom's 1970 Dodge Charger is a true classic muscle car. The car boasts a menacing, aggressive appearance with its iconic long hood, wide body, and massive engine protruding right out of the hood. The big supercharged V8 kicks out enough horsepower to shred tires and rip up asphalt. The car becomes a symbol of Dom's character as a fearless, powerful, and unstoppable force in the world of street racing.
    Enjoy!

    Speaking of the Fast & Furious movie franchise, you should do a video about Brian’s Nissan Skyline GT-R from 2 Fast 2 Furious, because that car was never available for the US market and is revered by JDM car enthusiasts worldwide. Another good one would be Han’s Mazda RX-7 from Tokyo Drift.

      I see what you are getting as those are some of the few great import cars, but I'm not planning on covering anything in that franchise beyond the first film vehicles since all the other movies were ruined by CGI junk. I will eventually cover Brian's Supra from the first film however when doing second rounds through my list at some point 😉👍

    Just an fyi my man fact #2, ratchet shifters like the B&M in the charger are meant to manually shift my 69 charger does too and all my other classics ive installed ratchets it. And if you only race and dont install a kick down cable to the 727 trans you must always shift the auto manually

      People also shift automatic transmissions that aren't converted to manual shift. I would bet that is actually what is going on in the movie. It doesn't require anything special. I used to race my '69 Charger like that.

    • @Christackleberry
      @Christackleberry Před rokem +2

      They make a “sequential shifter” that converts a typical H-pattern into a straight line front-to-back.
      Lots of drag racers sue these. They prevent missed shifts.

    Love these episodes man but please do a little more research for the voice over. The manual shift looks like a ratchet shifter on an automatic (hence the wide brake pedal) and that's suppose to be a 426 Hemi not a 392. Hope this is more constructive than Jerky. Cheers!

    • @bobbydavis2299
      @bobbydavis2299 Před 10 měsíci

      Not jerky at all, when he said 392 I was like "what"? To me kind of a big mistake saying a 50's engine would be in a 60s/70 car. Especially when talking about "facts"...

    • @mikefelty2625

      @@bobbydavis2299 I think he just made a mistake by saying 392 Hemi because that's what's in the newer Scatpack and Daytona models. The 392 that's around now isn't even close to the old 392s from 50s and early 60s

    • @drippinglass

      No it's not a 426 Hemi. It definitely is a 1958 Chrysler 392 Hemi that was built by Chuck Taylor Racing Engines. Fact.. not opinion. It was a full blown alcohol breathing Drag engine.

    How is it possible that one is still owned by universal ? I know that one was owned by George Barris after they finished the movie, and then the car went to the Netherlands, where the crmar is still in a private collection, the wrecked one is at the Bronson movie car museum now and the one from the garage scene had no engine, they rented one for the garage scene, and then after the movie was done, they installed a real blown HEMI in it, and the car went to auction in 2008, and was sold to a man in Switzerland, after that he sold the car in 2015, and it is now owned by 2000 motors in Italy. :)

    I saw a bunch of the screen used cars at Universal in Orlando after the film's release. They weren't much to look at in person which gives kudos to movie magic. Also this is one of the worst car movies ever made and it is hard to understand how they keep making them. One last thing, NOS is not a word and should never ever be pronounced as a word. Real car guys don't say "NOS"

    • @CarStarz42
      @CarStarz42  Před 9 měsíci

      Indeed, the later films are practically unwatchable to me, especially more recent ones.
      Well, opinions vary on the NOS pronunciation deal; I usually just refer to it as a Nitro myself, but most people I know who actually keep watching this atrocious movie series; usually pronounce the word out as NOS like that, so I did that for them. Got to try to appeal to the younger folks a bit too sometimes 😉
