Salaam Remi has to be the most low key, legendary producer ever. Love that he doesn't care for the spotlight.

Same here. I was one of his biggest critics until this interview.. when Nas chose him to exec. produce The "N" I was clueless to why. Now it makes sense. This dude is a genius.. body of work is up there with the household names.. just a quiet dude who didn't get caught up in being in the spotlight.

This man deserves greater credit and acclaim. He produced the best tracks on Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black' album and yet all the fuss is made about those produced by Mark Ronson.

Vlad keeps pushing him to brag about his money and his talent but Salaam never goes there. Hip hop producers usually can't stop talking about their money and stature. How can he be so talented and so successful and still be so humble? Amazing!!!

If you followed everything he said then that's great. But if you caught every musical sample reference and all the soul music nods,,then bigg up to you cause you are a musical person. For everyone else, let your comments reflect your level of music knowledge.

Why the surprises on how low-key he is, this is the original role a producer is supposed to play, producers are background guys that are behind the sound they aren't supposed to be ALL IN THE VIDEOS, ALL ON THE RECORD...you know the rest. He's just playing his part.
