They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'

    It’s simple. Habits make you become unconscious, like an automaton.
    If you create a good habit, you do it with intention. And the motive behind that intention is to make it more automatic.
    But if you lose the awareness of why you’re repeating that routine or habit, then it becomes destructive. The order has turned into a disorder. And what’s worse, you’re not even aware of it.
    With bad habits, it’s even worse. Not just because of the damage that they cause, but because you (probably) didn’t enter into it consciously.
    Wow, these comments. Lots of bots, or what?
    To be concise, wake up. Or just do it. Or both, I’d say both. I like both

    All what JK says here comes naturally to many a successful. Success is rather far away but perseverance brings us closer. It is rather uncomfortable but the good done is more pertinent to oneself than to anyone else. Life is wonderful! The mountains the valleys the flowers the blue sky the rain have you ever seen the rain and so on. All of it is valid.

      @@Cecil_Augus Habit is repetitive, mechanical. To a certain extent, in the things related to physical, there is a need for a routine, may be. But psychologically speaking, what is the necessity of a repetitive attitude?
      Discipline means learning. Not from a master, not joining a monastery. A learning in which all accumulations of the past ceases to exist. It is these accumulations which prevent one looking at things afresh and anew. When one is learning a new language, there physically, accumulation is necessary. All psychological accumulations in relationship is very destructive --- to see this destructive nature of psychological accumulation is learning. To learn all this, there is no need for a teacher; oneself is one's own teacher and the taught.

    Habit produces disorder, but trying to stop or prevent that habit is further habit, therefore further disorder.
    Can one just observe that one is constantly in habit, constantly mechanical. In that realization, that one is constantly habitual, there is order. Because order is choiceless.

    • @bh_486
      @bh_486 Před rokem +5

      Not quite.
      It is discovering the capacity to observe without censorship that brings order.
      Choiceless awareness is another way of saying that YOU (the ego or the self), stop judging or condemning or justifying your behaviour.
      It is when we constantly control ourselves that life becomes chaotic, because we are preventing the small and hidden clues coming into view.
      BUT not controlling ourselves does not mean 'anything goes'.
      On the contrary.
      Observation without the ego interfering is actually highly disciplined.
      But it is a different kind of discipline.
      It is this discipline that brings Order.
      The order comes because you are no longer wondering if you are right or wrong, you are not dithering.
      Your mind goes through a constant process of 'defragmentation'.
      New insights and observations require the old insights (and habits) to be shunted around and maybe deleted (continuing with the computer metaphor).
      This brings order to your internal world and also to your external world.
      You start to tidy up your space, you look again at the projects you have never completed, either abandon them or finish them.
      You take care of yourself.
      This is order.

      @Enavor Před rokem

      @@bh_486 I see. It's a difficult thing to learn these teachings.
      I think what is interesting with K's talks is when I'm listening to them, I'm using my intelligence (which discerns) and from that discernment creating conclusions which is exactly the cause of disorder.
      Even my response to you now is disorder it seems because I'm responding to you only because I'm working with past knowledge to do so. It's like that phrase: "If you see a buddha on the road, kill him". It doesn't mean literally kill him, what it means is that to see the truth, you have to see past the conditioning and all conditioning is caused by the intellect itself.
      When the intellect somehow matures, and comes to the realization that its always discerning, causing choice, which is disorder, that very realization brings order. Like a "choiceless awareness".
      I thought I was on a path, but I duped myself, I was here the entire time and my intellect, which is time dependent, causes the illusion of choice. However the actions I do now (no matter how illusory) have a direct impact on the future forms you'll take and those future forms will see reality in a different way as the human form taken now - which was caused by millions of years of actions.
      It's too hard for me to explain succinctly, but that's the best attempt I can do.

      It certainly is the most difficult thing to do.
      I will say this - the reason it is difficult is that it requires a kind of 'magic' - and this phenomenon is not present in our everyday life.
      If you do 'catch it', then it is both highly reasonable but peculiarly magic.

  • @richardhorvatichfittrader

    I think routine is useful but we need to do things spontaneously, throw new experiences In between.
    Krishnamurti did yoga for years, that's a habit. He has been a public figure and speaker, this implies routine.
    But we can't just be rigidly involved in habit without doing other things too. We need to dance, hike, wonder, play. But without a habit or routine, how do we make progress anywhere? How do we become skilled?

    • @pooscifer
      @pooscifer Před 6 měsíci

      Why does it matter to be skilled? Also, what suggests skill is a matter of setting an intention (to repeat a habit) over and over again? Couldn't we develop a skill without relying on repetitive thought patterns/intentions?
