- Largest and Busiest Airports in Africa - Air travel has been one of the most prevalent and dependable modes of transportation around the world over the years. In Africa, the situation is no different, with millions of Africans connecting flights to and from the continent and the rest of the globe every day. In normal times, aviation hubs across the African continent are usually flooded with millions of passengers, travelling for a range of reasons, brushing through tourism and leisure to business, etc. The past year however was an unprecedented era that packed a punch with enough power to cripple the global aviation capacity. According to Airports Council International (ACI), overall passenger traffic at the world's airports has plummeted by 64.6 percent, although air travel has recovered at varied speeds around the world as travel restrictions are relaxed.
To determine how busy an airport is, there is the need to consider many aspects such as the number of passengers annually, the number of flight departures and cargo traffic among others.
Our video today will look into the 10 largest and busiest african airports, in terms of number of flights and passenger annually, based on current available statistics.

@@ahenkangh4279 We spend days /weeks researching on topics and make sure we present quality and reliable news. The current capacity of Kotoka Int. The airport is below 8 million (all Terminals). Also, last year, the airport recorded just about 1.1 million passengers. Putting all these together, it's not closer to the top 10 listed. Ethiopian Airport for example is 22 million capacity airport and recorded last year 6 million passengers last year. We can not rank Ghana ahead of them or the others with similar or better capacity. If we do our next video about beautiful airports in Africa, maybe Kotoka will rank among the best, based on available facts and figures.

I was about to say the exact same thing.JHB is the busiest airport in Africa.
I think its based on passenger volumes last year (2020)- which was a chaotic and abnormal year. JNB was shut down completely for almost the whole year. Also, Durban is not on the list, which is odd. Having said that, the info in this video is already dated and irrelevant.

As an egyptian, I can confirm that Cairo Intl Airport is not the biggest, its actually the 2nd after O.R Tambo Intl Airport In Johannesburg
