While it's unfortunate melee wasn't at EVO this year, Ultimate really stole the show and is clearly the most exciting Smash game to watch since Melee, shattering viewership records. Also it's awesome there were 8 different characters in top 8.
It was so awesome to see that everyone chose a different character. Rather than 1 charactwe dominating we have a bunch of really good characters

Man, it really bothers me how much people try to take away from Leo's beastly skill by blaming Joker, think about the following.
How many jokers where in top 8? What about Top 32?
This also happened with Ike, where people complained about how broken he was, because Leo was winning with him in such a dominant fashion.
Now try watching the Raito match completely, at the start of the first bout Leo couldn't even approach without being punished, he was pushed to the corner but by the end of it he adapted and managed to win the first one, then proceeded to steamroll the second one to win the match.
Gluttony was playing amazing but Leo has him figured out, he's his demon (the demon of many) and it showed.
Againts Tweek who used to be Leo's demon, playing the PT matchup he seems to have the worst time againt (although he seemed completely walled by Kameme) and lost the first two games, 3rd was super close and 4th was such an overwhelming comeback that it destroyed Tweek mentally (known for not having that much mental fortitude) and eventually chocked, he tried his best but it was too late, Leo had already adapted and was on top of him for the rest of the games.
Joker or not, Leo's an amazing player and will push whatever character he's playing to heights never reached, because that's what he does.
The well deserved Champion of EVO 2019 and the current best player in the world.

Tweek and Mkleo are both amazing but if you watch the full grand finals you can see many many times that Tweek almost always landed with falling foward air as ivysaur, once Mkleo adapted to this it was over.
Layne Rowland other tendencies like switching Pokemon offstage or friending for grabs lead to tweeks downfall. mkleo doesn’t need to many games for the download

he also stopped jumping into leo w Nair, which was his main punish for Leos air moves. he went w Upair or forward, which has a smaller overall hitbox (360 vs a horizantal hitbox)

What a match for grand finals. Tweek played out of his mind early on but Leo’s stamina is just insane. A well deserved victory, and here’s to hoping that Tweek’s mental game continues to improve and he learns to better mix up his gameplay
Can I just say these commentators did an incredible job keeping the hype going through all these matches? It must be exhausting to try to make every single match as exciting as the last, but they pulled it off and made for a great show.
It’s really impressive that a Coney commentated this entire top 8 by himself, and he could even make his voice go super high and some parts. Dude should be an opera singer as well 👌🏻
im relatively new to the smash scene, what draws me in besides the entertaining game play are the great commentaries. Cinnpie and Coney’s commentary made the matches even more hype than it already was.
MKLeo VS Tweek should be the must watch match for anyone that is remotely interested in getting better at Smash. Seriously, if you wanna get better, study this set.

It’s not that he’s underrated, it’s that he relies on can. If you dodge it or get around it Just like Gulutonny did you win.
If Duck Hunt has other things to rely on, easily be a top fighter as weird as it is to have Duck Hunt on the roster. It’s also hard to see who’s amazing when there’s almost 80 fighters lol this shit is like a Moba.
Fighting duck hunt just looks like a bullet hell game imo. Watching Raito just makes my head hurt.

The punishing game of Leo is so freaking strong that he basically get a KO out of every wrong move, after that the mental game of the opponent gets completely destroyed and Leo keeps punishing, if you see at the start most of the matches against Leo they start pretty even but the more Leo capitalize the mistakes of the opponent then the other player lose complete momentum of the game.

Joker's back air even without Arsene is insane, and his guns when pointing down in the air is quite crippling... Leo even gimped Tweek's recovery in GF's at one point while he was Charizard with those guns...
Those are the only two things I can consider being toned down, besides maybe making drag down up air into up smash a bit less consistent?

Hes just not motivated like before and a lot has to do with the pay. He doesn't weight it out to be worth it when he can make more money streaming
How to stop Leo’s Joker
1. Camp Arsene, if you die wait on the star platform. Don’t fight him unless you have to.
2. Edgeguard recovering Arsene his hurtbox sticks above the ledge. We saw Raito do it. The only type of pressure he has is the Ahah move which can be shielded.
3. You have to stay consistent and not break mentally. Over these sets people would do good the first game or two but only falter when it matters most.
4.Wait out counter and charge a smash attack. Or if at low enough percents start a combo.
5. Dont take your time recovering back to stage.
5.Dont blow several stock leads against the best in the world.

I was talking more in general. I noticed Tweek didnt do a few things I listed.
He hasn’t ever waited on the star platform to not have to fight Arsene at all tournaments.
He also kept switching Pokemon in a vulnerable spot offstage. Also take a shot every time he goes to the left corner after taking a stock, he started getting predictable.

I'm sure tweek thought about what he was doing, but understand joker is an incredibly quick character who isn't the easiest to camp out considering he has a really good reflector and one of the best projectiles in the game, so he is more likely to camp you out better than you can camp him since he has all the tools to anti camp.
