  • Nick Wright is in a great mood today after LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers took on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, and after, Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers. After coming out of both games on top, Nick tells Stephen Jackson and Kevin Wildes why this is proof that LeBron is the best player in the league, and why the Lakers are the best team in the west. Plus, Stephen Jackson decides if LeBron's performance this weekend solidifies his chances at winning MVP this season.

And he only cares about the regular season if it suits Lebron. Bucks have been on pace to win 70 games yet he says the Lakers are still the favourites, but the Clippers being behind the Lakers in the standings (even tho pg missed almost half the year, he never mentions that btw) is proof they aren’t close to them. Kruppt808 and you don’t see the hypocrisy? He’s using the regular season to prove Lakers > Clippers, but still has lakers > bucks despite being better in the regular season. Either it matters or it doesn’t, he can’t pick and choose when the regular season matters. Like I said, he only cares about the regular season when it suits him. He can’t seem to understand that the same reasons he has Lakers > bucks are the same reasons ppl have clippers > lakers.
Also, Kawhi hasn’t rested in months, and pg was out for almost half the year. Any failure to mention that is being dishonest. The clippers likely are within a game or 2 of the lakers if PG isn’t hurt.

LeBron is playing with AD...that makes life so much easier. Literally every single game, you know AD is the mismatch, not LeBron. Sure, there's holes in Giannis's game, but his strengths are elite.
The problem for the Bucks is that they don't have a 2nd reliable guy. So unless Giannis can go for 40+ every game of the playoffs, they're not winning a title anytime soon.

The fact of the matter is that Lebrons continued improvement as an outside shooter, bordering on excellent, has just opened up those driving lanes and has made his first step that much quicker. Once you establish that outside shot at a high consistency the whole game just becomes butter. Really destabilizes a defense and opens up those alley oops and 3 point kick outs as needed. The last couple of seasons have been Lebrons best as a complete player.

Just watching the Clippers game, you could see AD was the problem, not LeBron. LeBron made 4 shots in the first 3 quarters and his other 3 shots made came in garbage time in the 4th. Most of his points came from free throws.
This talk about LeBron being MVP is pretty ridiculous. LeBron didn't actually do much against the Clippers when it mattered. Nine of his points came in garbage time when the Lakers already had a comfortable lead. Not sure why AD keeps getting shafted in the MVP discussions.
At least if it were AD vs Giannis, you could see the argument. The only reason LeBron is being thrown in is because he's a bigger name than AD as far as the media is concerned. I'm not saying LeBron is a bum or anything, but the Lakers owe those Bucks and Clippers wins to AD. He made things happen in the important parts of those games...especially in the Clippers game.

I love the fact that the Lakers won and the fact that they are going to be nr1 west seed. It's also great everyone has crown LeBron as the best player in the world again.
But you know what, there is no excuse anymore. I don't wanna hear the talk about clippers being better as a collective. Come playoff time you better show up and you better bring your A game every single game because if you end up losing in the conference finals you're done. I'm still taking clippers in 5 or 6 games but it will be quite good to hear nick then
