    Surprised I didn’t see Biore UV Athlizm Skin Protect Essence SPF 50+ PA++++. Water and sweat resistant, they made it specifically for outdoor activities, sports, work outside, beach etc. It’s one of my favorite sunscreens!

      @@Lily_-iz4py They’re both velvety matte but the original gold milk is more “mattifying” and the mild milk is “dewier”. My oilier skin enjoy the original gold milk better when it comes to finish.

    Thank you for the great SPF/waterproof recs! Florida has really hot/humid environment, add in hot flashes, and it's easy to see the SPF sliding south.... In winter, I love the Missha, I have used their Essence SPF for years. It's great for drier/mature skins. The only downside to Missha (and the Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen Skincare Milk) is it has fragrance.

    Thanks for your recommendations! I ordered some for an upcoming beach vacation. I use Asian sunscreens on a daily basis, but most of them aren’t water resistant. Hopefully these will have a similar feel and look as the ones I know and love while being water resistant!

    Hi Dr. Liu, we went to Japan this summer and picked up the Biore UV Athlizm essence which is similar in texture to their popular Aqua Rich essence. Both very nice. I also got the Athizm milk which I quite like.

    • @kmjdebay
      @kmjdebay Před 10 měsíci +2

      Yes! GlowbyRamon reviews both the Athlizm and the watery essence. Athlizm is their most "waterproof" sunscreen. Both come in 70ml tubes, so a better deal.

    Two things I'm wondering if you can comment on--1. how well do advanced filters work for preventing melasma? I'm reluctant to have my skin be the testing grounds, because that will cause a flare up I can't reverse! 2. How can we tell the Zinc oxide percentages on korean and japanese sunscreens? Or do you know for these specific sunscreens? That's one factor I've found helps with my melasma, and one of my hesitations from using them is that I have no idea what the zinc percentage is.

    I really enjoyed the video🤩.My issue with “waterproof” sunscreens if that I have to wash it up with water to preform “Wudu” which is a preparation before prayers for muslim where we wash with water several body parts including the face. Some waterproof sunscreen leave a residue so I have to wash it with a cleanser to ensure proper ‘wudu’ which is a hassle and thats why I prefer non waterproof although I live in a hot humid climate.
    Can you do a video on “non waterproof” asian sunscreens for daily use too☺️

    How are these around eyes? I would love to try Korean and Japanese sunscreens in hopes they help my issues: I live in the US, I'm in my 60s, and use mineral sunscreens on my face because the "chemical" sunscreens here often irritate my eyes (uncontrollable tears or sting) AND sometimes turn my white hair & brows & sweat-damp clothes ORANGE. What do you suggest?
    And thank you so much for your CZcams channel! I love your presentation style.

      American chemical sunscreens sting my eyes very badly but I've been able to use at least the 'Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel' without any problems and it's much less drying than the mineral sunscreens I was using before.
      I think it's definitely worth a try! I'm planning on trying a few more of the Korean sunscreens with newer UV filters as the Isntree one was nice but a little too shiny for my taste.

    Hi Dr Liu,
    I was wondering if you could do a comparison video between Avene and La Roche Posay as well as maybe Vichy (particularly their mineral 89 product) as they all claim to contain special thermal/thermal spring and/or mineral water.

    I tried the Korean and Japanese sunscreen, it feel good but I live in super hot and humid Florida and just being outside for few minutes to car or shop, the sunscreen is gone just from sweating. Forget about water activities. I now use their “water resistant ” sunscreen for daily use to job or errands so I have some product on after walking to my car. The American and Aussie brand are much better for my active days but not perfect. I really need better coverage, higher protection and more water resistance…any recommendations for very active people out on water 6+ hours and reapplying every 2-3 hours barely helps.

      I don't know if you're still taking recommendations, but I live in the Caribbean, no ac, have used these at the beach and the pool with ZERO sunburn and I'm pale: Missha Waterproof in the morning, reapply with Abib Waterproof Sun Stick every 2 hours. That's for the face and neck btw. I use American sunscreens for the body.
