      Worlds most beautiful flag? Seriously? Dude, I get nationalism and more power to you, it's a great flag and it represents your nation in an awesome way, but... Look, clearly, it has no dragon. Flag of Bhutan has a fucking DRAGON on it. Can't beat that.

    Nice job. You thought of everything. I have several flag projects with different needs. I will keep these ideas in mind. I have experienced the tear factor, or the flag catching on a fence too close by. I have another that is huge, and I want to have it relocated to the front of a historical building which is more bureaucratic in nature. Excellent work.

    You did a great job here. I made made mine almost the same way. I used the fence loop caps to attach the pulley though. I also made mine 20' so I could lower the flag to half staff for Memorial and Veterans Day or when necessary. Great job!

    Great, simple idea! May I make a suggestion? I would try locate some type of rubber end caps for the bolts and fence clasp. It might help with prevent flag tears in the future. May want to think about adding a ground cable/rod at base. But over all your idea is simple and easy to follow along. Great idea! Enjoyed!

    I made my own using a piece of inch and a quarter galvanized steel pipe and set it inside of a 4 foot fence posts it was 20 feet high. At the top you don’t need to use a pulley. Just put a large I I BOLT Threw the pole near the top. Didn’t put your cleat about 5 feet from the ground. Then you can use I’d recommend quarter inch or 5/16 Nylon braided marine grade rope not the plastic stuff but the white stuff. You can tie the rope into the big loop with a couple of feet extra to Tyrone the cleat or you can leave both ends loose I didn’t have to tie off both ends. With a poly the rope is liable to come off track and get stuck, and the pulley will eventually rust in the barons, and the eyebolts serves the same purpose with a cleaner look

      hobertjr I have seen a coupler for it and was thinking the same thing, but I'm not sure if it would keep it straight, it might cause a lean in it.

  • @zacksgaragedoorserviceandr1208

    So with the flagpole rope you want to put the knot in the center of the American flag that will help with the flag getting higher on the pole and use a fisherman’s night and you actually do not tie the hooks on the rope there is a video on how to attach step hugs to the rope and you do it the same for the top and bottom one and then you have a nice clean look

    • @rogermoreau8834
      @rogermoreau8834 Před 6 lety +7

      If you purchase a Harbor Freight pole that usually sells in the $50 dollar range, fly the light weight flag that was included with the pole which is usually 3 ft. by 5 ft. made of nylon with printed stripes and sewn stars. Do Not fly a flag made of cotton. The Cotton Flag will absorb rain water and the weight with the wind blowing will bend the pole at ground level. I would recommend to fill the bottom 4 feet of the pole above the ground with concrete to provide the support when the pole wants to bend.

      You can go to any auto parts store and buy lock tight
      Comes in various strength levels by it's liqiuid color, so it won't work loose and if you need to can use a wrench to loosen. Just buy the mid level
