  • Are The Ping G410 Irons Too Powerful?! - MID HANDICAP TEST, PING G410 driver, hybrid, 3-wood and irons have been a huge success in 2019... but how good are they for mid handicap golfers? should you look at these for your next golf clubs? how do they compare to the ping g400 clubs? are the ping g410 irons the best irons for mid handicap golfers? will they help improve your game? maybe they will help you hit longer iron shots closer to the flag? resulting in lower scores and a reduced handicap? lets find out... and lets do it now!

    I have upgraded from G400 to the G410. I started with the G Series at a 9 handicap and now carry a 5 handicap. I don't believe these irons are just for mid-handicap players anymore. As a matter of fact, some "low" handicappers should actually try some of the new game improvement irons. For me, making the switch made golf fun again. Is there something wrong with reasonably straight shots, and more greens hit? Not in my book. I can still make them bend a little if I need to. I think we have all heard the new term Game Enjoyment irons. These are it! Enjoy!! P.S. I even got the power loft Specs.

    I've just been fit for a set of these irons on Friday night. They were the best set I tried out of the srixion, titelist and callaway equivalents. Made a huge difference immediately (partly because I was playing regular shafts and I needed stiff mind you). Improved my distance and accuracy and they look and feel great. I found them to be very forgiving also, still got good distance and reasonable dispersion on poor contacts. Just waiting for them to arrive now!! 😬

      @@mattdavenport7596 love them, they're a big improvement over the nike vapor fly irons I had previously. Ive used them practically every week since they arrived. The idea they're "too powerful" or whatever this video is suggesting is silly of course, power distance etc is all about your technique eh? but getting fit for these irons was a really game changer for me. Over the last year I've gone from regular shooting +18 to regularly shooting +8, mainly through regular practice of course, but having decent irons that were fitted to me really helped. So, yeah, I really like the g410s, so much so I also got the G410 LST Driver and, when I've got a few quid saved again I'll likely get the 3 wood to match 👍

    Old video I know - but I am always amazed with people who claim "feel" = control as this gent did. If I strike an iron and look up seeing the ball start on my line, fly through the window I want, and then land on my intended target spot, I could care less what that shot "felt" like. Heck, it could make a spark coming off my club face, but If I end up 15ft for bird, I'm in. If you play for "fell" good for you. I for one like lower scores. G Irons should be in the hands of more players.

    I would restart the whole test with a brand new ball, as from previous experience I have found that a ball will often play 'wonky' for about 2-3 holes before it splits, which may have been the case with the ball you were using....

    I'm off 8 and play the Ap1 718 irons. These type of irons are not just for high handicap golfers. I take advantage of these clubs with the height i can hit them. Nice high fade and land soft with long irons. Don't be scared about spin numbers being lower because the the numbers on the bottom of the clubs are only numbers. Its the lofts that you need to know.

    Anyone can hit a blade type club when they are swinging well even mid 14 handicap golfers like mark!
    The reason why ping G type irons do well for most handicap golfers from about 8 up is.They offer the forgiveness when your not striking the ball well as opposed to blade type irons where if your on a poor striking day the penalties are exaggerated several fold.I bet if you could do a full season test on comps with mark playing his i200 against the g410,his handicap would come down more if he used the g410.I am not a ping iron player it's just I see too many mid handicap golfers and I class mid handicap from 8 to 18 playing equipment that their swing
    Isn't good enough to hit them on a consistent basis.If you can make the game easier then why not.Golf unfortunately is full of egos,Just watch the Mark Crossfield Volg on the Cleveland launcher irons and see what he has to say.

  • @BSKTCreation
    @BSKTCreation Před 5 lety +1

    The problem with gimmicks and power lofting clubs is it screws with the expectations of how far you should hit. For example my old iron set in the 80's was 1-9, pw and sw; now my set is 3-9, pw, 50* gw, 54* sw and 58* lw. My distances have not changed over the set, just the label at the bottom of the club! This is stupid. IMO we shouldn't try to hit bigger through equipment (learning to swing better will do this), instead I think consistency and feel should be what we go for. If this trend continues I imagine a set of clubs in the future might look like 5-9, pw, gw, sw, lw, llw, lllw; when will this crazy train stop?!

      Clinton Andersen = the i210’s are muscle back irons that I can really feel the difference. So from 145 yds in I felt I needed more of a players distance club. I really like them. I probably oils have added the 7 then switch to g410s for the 5&6 then add a hybrid. The four is a great club but it is more difficult to hit than a hybrid the same distance. Hope this helps.

    Hey James, I have watched your review on both the i500's and the G410's, how did they compare on feel and feedback? Did the i500's feel better, as in more feedback, softer and feeling all around more like a players club as apposed to the G410's? Did you feel that you could potentially shape shots, control the trajectory and have your shots be fairly consistent when the need arose?
