In the right PTS color absolutely it will add value.

Must be market dependent, doesn't seem to add anything where I live. Manual gearbox on the other hand....

I did PTS on a GT car and it was a disorganised mess at retail in the UK. The OPC didn’t have samples, the available colour list was unclear and the order window in production was tiny and I had to do all the legwork. The dealer tried to persuade me to give up and it added nearly 8 months to my order but it is perfect and only 2 exist in the colour according to vehicle planning. Since then, Porsche have woken up to the fact that they can rinse customers so enter a price hike and tiered cost levels. I’m frankly surprised that they don’t offer the car as ‘body in white’ and tier everything. PTS will add to the desirability of the individual car contingent on the cohesiveness of the rest of the specification but I don’t believe people will pay huge premiums unless the car has genuine collector and enthusiast appeal i.e. RS4.0. Despite how well it turned out for me, don’t think I would bother again now that it is so cynically driven.

Not sure if this applies to Australia. 2 dealers have told me the GT Silver and Red Porsche take longer to sell, and that black and white are safe bets for resale.
Having had a few silver, black and red Porsches. Went left field for me this time and got Gentian Blue, some hate it, and others love it! Couldn't get PTS in 22, if I could, it would have been another shade of blue.
Lastly, the colour is not the overriding factor for me. The complete spec is. Rims, seats, manual, carbon, etc etc.

I think PTS adding value is also model specific... I dont think a PTS Macan would really fetch more than a standard cold, but PTS on a GT3 touring.. it makes a special car that much more special... and and valuable IMO

I love my Carrera red leather interior, something to be aware of is some colours dont photograph well, deffo go see in person.
Carrera red looks RED ❤ in a photo, but in real life is nice deep darker red 🛢️

I think it's all down to the taste of the original owner. I have seen some terribly shocking colour choices which I think would no doubt devalue the car.

    Interesting feature

Mostly yes, but it depends on the colour. There's a 991.1 for sale in the worst possible gold (Exclusive manufaktur) which hurts my eyes and has been for sale forever

    Nice video.
I think the term PTS is over used. If you take an item in and say "I want it in that colour" that is paint to sample. Otherwise, it's just an off the shelf colour, all beit something more interesting than the standard range

Let‘s generalize it: Original, rare and handsome colour packs a premium. Back in their day, olive or linden green, strictly not PTS but rarely ordered.
Now, if you manage to find a Farbmusterwagen (car ordered by the factory to test a new colour, mostly sold of to personell later)… with a colour that didn’t make it to the catalogue, oh my. Somewhere out there is a pre series 2.7 RS built from a 911s in Tagesleuchtfarbe Gelb, that‘s a one off.

It seems that in the Porsche market cars that sell at a premium are bought by the people who value your tastes! Hence you should spec the car to your liking and budget, then aim for a future buyer who is basically YOU. And, between those two points the only thing to do is drive it!

With Porsche, PTS is a given. Most of their standard colour selections are quite bland. It ultimately comes down to personal preference.

Any info on why the cars they're producing lately, PTS included, are plagued by horrific Orange Peel? I had to send my PTS GT4RS back to the factory for a repaint (they agreed the paint was "unacceptable"). Luckily the car was still in Germany.. I got home to receive my C4S manual that was optioned to Turbo S money, and it was just as bad. I'm so upset about it that I haven't even driven it yet.

Oh wow, I've not heard of this before but will say the 'post-paint' process isn't as intensive as, say, Bentley, where you get a beautiful 'piano finish'.

@@9WERKSTV True they're admittedly not great normally, as evidenced by my others, but these most recent 2 are egregious.

I think PTS is more important in America.. you brits seem to love your grayscale cars.
