To quote the great Artie Lange: when I was a kid, I was into the Jets. As I got older, I got into girls. Then I got back into the Jets again because I learned that girls won't always eff you but the Jets will ALWAYS eff you.
This quote has withstood the test of time for the Jets since 1969. Just when you think it can't get any worse for them? It always does.
I supported the Jets for the London game this year out of my appreciation for Rich. I had a true snapshot of Jets fandom; the shambolic play, the glimmer of hope, the unhappy ending. My first thought at the final whistle was about this man’s mental fortitude he must have needed for a lifetime of this purgatory.
Rich is an adult. Like myself, I like the jet's, root for the jets, but have never been a fan, why? Answer this one question: "what is there to be a fan of ? " so, when rooting for the jets... we always root for other teams to keep us sane, Which is what rich does.
i mean George this is def a new low for our team first time in 36 years giving up 50 points the big difference is when we did that in 86 we still made it to the Divisional that year .... even when we went 1-15 in 1996 our worst ever season we still managed to keep the score below 40 in all 15 losses

Rich reminds me of my dad. When he's whispering criticism it seems scarier and more ominous than if he was yelling. Inevitably the tone of voice gets progressively louder and u can hear the anger rise.

and don't start in about the Dallas game. That was the worst officiated game of the year by a long shot. Dallas had an extra 2-3 td's if it wasn't for the refs always helping out NE when they are home. Wonder why that is? Also. I wanted to laugh at the jets game this week so went back and watched it. How dirty were both those hits that put Wilson out of the game and no flag? Patriots pay off the refs no doubt about it and Mac Jones cries when he gets touched. Have fun not making the playoffs with little Macky for years to come.

@John Drummond I feel your pain. I too came under the Namath spell before I was 20 years old. I'm done suffering. I bought my first Buccaneers hat and it feels real good to wear it and root for a winner.

Rich, I feel for you. As a Patriots growing in Boston, the Pat's were awful and your Jets had Broadway Joe. I never thought the Pat's would become a dynasty. The only way the Jets will get better is a change at the top. Zack Wilson is a talent, but needs coaching and an offensive line.
Gee whiz, you must old if you remember those days. So many young fans don't remember a time when the Patriots were the Lions of the NFL. If you go back to the Sullivan days, it's surreal to think that the Patriots over took Dallas, Pittsburgh, San Fran & even Oakland as the mystique.
I remember the times before Brady and Bledsoe. It makes me sick now that so many fans are now jumping ship and becoming Tampa Bay fans due to Tom Brady leaving. I will always stick with the Pats no matter what. The Jets need to start hiring more competent individuals in the executive positions to be a contender.

No patients now a days in the NFL. If a qb isn't throwing for 250 plus yds and 3tds right away, teams want to get rid of them. There is no more growing for qbs, it's like in Miami with Tua, this kid might be real good by the end of the year, but since he isn't doing what Herbert is in L.A, most fans want him gone. It's just ridiculous. Even Garrapolo, the guy took the 49ers to a super bowl 2 years ago and since he wasn't throwing like Arod or Mahomes, 49ers wanted him gone. NFL has changed, go look at Troy Aikmans rookie year or Matt Staffords or Drew Brees first couple years, they sucked, but with time, all 3 became HOFamers, I know I'm all over the place with this but 49ers should stick with Garrapolo(better 4 Lance too) and I hope Matt Nagy dies from Covid.

I'm in Cleveland and a Browns fan all my life. I know full well about the struggles of a badly run football team and 20 years of misery. The Jets have been there with us most of that time down in the basement. Not sure if Saleh is your answer at HC, not sure if Wilson is your future at QB, but signing Flacco can't hurt. The Jets are a mess and that's terrible, but I'm not rooting against them. I want to see them succeed.
I agree with this take. I'm a Browns fan too. I think Wilson will be fine. But he was no where near ready to play. Saleh looks like he's already lost the team. The move to bring in Flacco should've been done earlier in the year. And Joe Douglas isn't catching more heat is beyond me.

As a 49er fan who lives in Ny, I really want Saleh to experience success, dude was great for my team and I dearly miss him. I had to admit, when I heard he was signing with the Jets, I figured he was doomed to fail, no matter how good of a coach he is. I hope he experiences a turn around.

It’s hard to actually evaluate Wilson & Jones he you consider whose coaching them. A great coach can take any otherwise subpar talent very far. Wilson needs a Belichick before any sort of definite analysis
Give the man 3 years for improvements. He inherited a CRAP team, from a CRAP coach & front office. The entire Jets team from the ground up needs to be rebuilt. That takes time.

Rich, I know this feeling. I’ve been a fan of the Arizona Cardinals since 1988 when they moved to Phoenix. Riding high right now but have been bit so many times before and get scared of it all falling apart.
So far the new jets coaching staff has no clue

As a Patriots fan I was a bit worried about our make shift offensive line .But right away Zach seemed to be floundering and the jets actually looked better with the backup QB
I told ppl from day one that Mac Jones is a better QB. Hes doing a great job of proving me right.
