Now Don was a different kind of personality, he could make you laugh even if you were the butt of his jokes. He had a warmth about him that manifested itself even when he was attacking you. Bob & Don were both warm wonderful human beings who really cared about their craft and cared deeply about the people who came to watch them perform. They were the last of the great comediennes of our time, they didn't need to use foul language to shock their audience to be funny. Performers today, especially black performers need to use outrageous language to elicit some kind of response from the audience. Bob and Don needed only themselves and an audience and they were off and running until the tears of laughter were running down your cheeks.
