"I am at peace with my lack of peace." Profound ... simply, profound. Bernardo's intellectual contribution does not lend itself to measurement. Such a truly beautiful and lovely person. ❤

Thank you, Simon, but it's people like you that look to identify and make available beauty and love where they find it that deserve recognition. In a world where anger, hate, and ugliness abounds, it brings me no small measure of peace and joy when I'm in the presence of those who truly care about the human condition. As I like to say, "Be kind, it's that simple."❤@@IAmSimonMundie

Wonderful to see and hear that Rupert can tell his friend Bernardo that he hasn't left the personal perspective yet (fully) and therefore still thinks things should be arranged differently in the dream called life.

That was intensely intimate and a joy to watch ❤️‍🩹

Pardon me, Rupert, if I offer this about what you and Bernardo have been discussing. From what "i" have come to know, the Peace (that passeth understanding) of which you speak comes when complete emptying of the vessel (the body-mind) occurs. Thus, we are being lived--we are not an "i" that has a life in which there is either suffering or not suffering. I honour the greatness within the three of you involved in this discussion. 🙏🏻

The vast majority of the time pain (or "catalyst") is needed to learn the deep lessons of the soul. As awareness grows, less pain and suffering is needed to learn as will and desire takes more prominence in learning.

Dear Bernardo, Turn your attention inward via Self-inquiry to dissolve the Self-forgetfulness (suffering) and experience the beautiful loving and ever-lasting peace of your true Self. ❤️

I think intelligence has a lot of curiosity behind it so the “you” becomes harder to drop but though it be long, it will drop.

Comments here can be censored to avoid criticism. I refer readers to Dr Nathan Hawkins from Absolute Philosophy a Cambridge idealist who IMO has a coherent critique of Bernardo's theory. Idealism is so fundamentally important to the spiritual cause by way of giving meaning that it must be able to explain all from within its own realm. Bernardo and Nathan are 2 brilliant minds and Bernardo would do well to kick his ego into touch and work more in a collective way with Nathan for the good of humanity. Nathan is friendly and willing.
Rupert's course fee's, his manner, his material assets are huge red flags to me. A lot of what he re-says may well have substance but if he really believed it would he / should he be so allegedly materialistic in his lifestyle?

bernardo's "peace" is a logical peace i.e. if i didn't accept this suffering i would double it. ha ha. you're too much in your head bernardo. delving deeper into this won't erase your knowledge that you clearly identify with so very deeply. be not afraid. let go and find out how everything becomes more efficient including mental dexterity and motivation to elucidate empirical truths, etc.

The dude on the top should give them a little space to talk before jumping in. I know he's probably the host and maybe I'm watching out of context as it's a short clip but just adding my 2 cents

Hmm this doesn’t seem right to say Bernardo needs his suffering as motivation-so if Bernardo was at peace he wouldn’t share the message with the world? Rupert is at peace and he shares a message. So I’m not sure why Rupert is saying Bernardo’s suffering is needed to motivate him to share the message.

It’s all good, but, man, what a price to pay, to remain ignorant for the sake of your duty. I mean, aren’t we destined to “have our cake and eat it, too?” But, in reality, I realize that we can’t. Once realizing peace, the passion for what we did prior for survival, has to be diminished. Our ways and means will be governed and motivated by a Presence not concerned with success nor failure, but BEING.
I know we have duty, but, again, that’s one hell of a price to pay. But, then again, when I tried to drop out, I realized the great suffering of those around me, that required my attention. My withdrawal almost allowed a death. Had that death occurred, my absence from my duty allowing it, would be unforgivable, in my eyes.
So, we take the balanced approach of Swami Sivananda, “Give, Love, Serve, Meditate, Realize.” We are multifaceted human beings.

Nice gotcha comment. Boosts our ego and makes us feel morally superior.
