Rupert is talking about “lasting happiness” he is really talking about the “peace that passes all understanding” or we could also call it “non dual happiness” A “happiness without opposites”

OMG! I awoke this morning thinking about happiness, especially because I visited my little sister yesterday, whom I have not seen for a couple of years. We've always been close. It was a joyful experience😊.
Synchronicity led me to this. As I switched on my phone, I accidentally touched on this. 😊
Peace joy and love to all ✌️ ❤

All is ONE - there is not two!
But to experience this what do you do?
For years I’ve given this lots of thought
I’ve listened to speakers, to what they’ve taught.
Then something hit me, right in the face,
It’s all to do with what we call space!
The universe is infinite - goes on forever you see.
Hubble and James Watt give us pictures for free.
Those photos are magic and pull at the heart
Gazing at them is where you should start.
There’s planets and stars and galaxies and such
But that’s only 5 percent - which isn’t that much.
The rest we ignore, which is our big mistake,
Because we’re missing 95% of the cake!
We all want harmony, oneness and love -
The secret’s around us, down here not above!
Yes the truth is staring us right in the face
To experience ONENESS include the space!
So make this your mission - your daily goal
And with a permanent smile you’ll truly feel WHOLE!
It’s all in the oneness (love’s the same thing)
Get it in your heart and it will sing!
The truth is staring you right in the face
To experience ONENESS include the space!

Senses and the breath move automatically and if you relax as much control of your muscle tightening or pushing or pulling on the breath, energy is saved. The breath moves on its own. Just wait for it to move on its own. You won't suffocate. You literally have to hold your breath to do that. Your eyes, ears, nose, sensation, and taste work automatically. The tightening of those things when you focus on them is a habit and wasted energy. Buddhists know that you still need effort to be conscious, and that there's a little sense of tension or impingement, compared to Nirvana, where you are completely unconscious. Not too much effort, but not too little. Do the same activities more efficiently and rest normally.

It's easy to overlook our own self deceiving nature in the midst of self hypnotic, conceptual ideologies in the form of religious beliefs.
Self deceiving, religious ideologies and beliefs can never really explain why there are sufferings and madness in the first place.
Countless life forms are screaming in pain at this very moment, and, at every moment from being torn and from being eaten alive. Aren't they? And, it has always been like this, ever since life can remember. Hasn't it?
A woman was forced to watch her young daughter, being brutally raped and executed by the invading soldiers. Followed by the execution of her husband and her two sons.
The woman lost her mind and threw herself over a bridge and committed suicide. She did ask one question before ending her life. Her question was, WHY?
Religions tell us that, an all good and all loving deity created everything good, but, somehow the devil has managed to turn everything into the bad and the ugly, causing all the sufferings. Thus, it's not the deity that is responsible, but, it's the devil that needs to be blamed and held accountable. So, all blames and responsibilities for the sufferings were conveniently placed on an imaginary entity and explained away.
Under Rupert's religious ideology, the all good and all loving deity of religion, becomes an all peace and all happiness consciousness and the devil becomes mind and finite mind.
Not so surprisingly, Rupert also has been claiming and preaching from day one, that, consciouness is never responsible for any suffering. All blames went to mind, finite mind, belief in separate self (ego), world cultures...etc. But, never on consciousness itself.
Same doctrine, Same ideology, Same beliefs, only different labels.
What are we going to tell the woman? How do we answer her question? Are we going to say to her, that, her true nature is really all peace all happiness and all fulfilled, needing nothing, but, somehow her true nature has decided to exchange all the happiness and the fulfillment for this madness? Really? I think not. That would be killing her twice. It is better keep our mouth shut, than to deceive oneself, others and ultimately Existence Itself.
Unfortunately, the fact is, that, religious ideologies have always managed to get the majority of humanity to believe and accept their claims about Existence. By speaking Truth ? Of, course not. Far from it.
Self deception has always won by betting on the ignorance of humanity throughout history. So it continues just as how it has always done.
Selling a deity or a consciousness and religiously ideological heavens, filled with only all the desirable and wishful qualities, while dumping all the dark, bad and the ugly qualities onto imaginary entities is what has always worked, and is working. Because, that's what the many in the market demands. So, the supply meets the demand.
What this really is, is a religious belief in duality, based on self ignorance and self dishonesty, packaged and marketed as a nondual teaching. It isn't and it has never been.
Praising one while blaming another is only possible in duality. Where both the deity and the devil, have their own existence with their own volition, completely independent of each other. Where the consciousness and the mind both have their own independent existence from each other, each with its own volition. Only then, praise and blame can be split.
Only in duality or multiple Realities, such religious ideology as Rupert's, praising consciousness while dumping all blames and responsibilities onto imaginary entities such as mind, ego, finite mind becomes possible. It's a form of self deception, based on self ignorance and self dishonesty, on which religious ideologies and beliefs are always based.
One can never be too careful, nor, be contemplative enough when it comes to understanding the nature of Existence in Itself.

Agreed on much of this, but if we fall asleep at night & we have a nightmare, in our dream, we may call out ..."WHY"? and then we wake up. Suddenly, our "Aware Experience" is in this realm, back in our bed, head on the pillow. Do we go around asking why we had such a nightmare? No, we just carry on with our new experience. Because that's what it is, an experience. Let's say that we cure aging in this realm. We're eating all the good foods, played a bunch of sports, travel to different locales including other planets. We do this for 1 million years.
Your friend comes up to you and says, "Hey, do you want to enter a simulation". And you say, "Sure, what's it about? Well, you have to understand, you'll forget that you're in it, and you may be at war with X and you may see your friends blown up..I'm telling you, it's intense!" You say, "Well, sure, as long as it's not permanent".
If you look at statistical accounts of NDE's, >95% of them state what they experienced in that realm is the most loving realm we can ever imagine, more real than this realm, just as this waking consciousness appears to be more 'real' than the dream last night. It's difficult to make rational sense that the dying brain creates a realm of the most loving-peace we can imagine. It's hard to say why they remember with such clarity their NDE 40 years later, as if it was yesterday.
Seems a bit strange that every one of them says it's like "going home" and that information/communication is exchanged via a kind of telepathy rather than speaking. Not sure if we can discount the folks that have information about what happened in the waiting room when their eyes and ears were taped shut. It becomes difficult to dismiss when a woman is blind from birth and then shares what she witnessed. How many accounts can we listen to where someone in their family died at the time they crossed over and they know it before the family knows it. There's just too much data that cannot be dismissed by stating it's a dying brain. Dying brains can't know that the nurse that took the night off drove her car into a tree and when she died told the patient who died to please tell her parents she's sorry that she cracked up the car. "I would say that there's just a 1 in billions chance that we are living in base reality"......Elon Musk. "Elon what would you ask if you had one question: "What's beyond the Simulation"......Musk.

@@JamesDidato I've had numerous obes when I was little. It just occurred naturally all by itself. I was always very curious about life and everything ever since. I was just too little to understand or analyze.
My first all-in meditation into the nature of Existence began when I was in college. That was almost 30 years ago. Countless explorations and discoveries to say the least.
The most shocking discovery for me about consciousness , knowingness or knowledge, was its self deceiving nature. Its subjective nature is full of self deceiving tendencies and projections. It does that for one reason. To continue to experience.
Consciousness has been deceiving Itself ever since life began. In human forms, it has been mostly deceiving Itself thru religious and spiritual ideologies and beliefs. Which is far more deceptive than all other life forms put together.
Life that drives survival can only function on self deception. Self honesty is the biggest threat to self deception and life that drives survival.
Life is not interested in understanding Existence in Itself. Life is only interested in survival and experience. Positive the better. Thus, the endless desires for the experiences, while deceiving Itself to be already fulfilled, needing nothing.
But, its activities always speaks louder. Consciousness has an inherent fear of its own disappearance or Non experience. It has to turn everything into a knowledge. Including all the so called "Self Knowledge ". It can and does project every possible, conceivable and perceivable knowledge and experience one way or another only to be ever hungry again in its never full belly. So, the self deception continues, writing more books, more retreats and more church services. On and on, until life force is interrupted.
Life that drives survival and self honesty do not go well together. If you're a teacher, speaking on self honesty concerning the nature of Existence as Is in Itself, the chances are you will most likely starve or simply ignored by life that drives survival.
Self deception runs far deeper than most can imagine. It runs all the way down to the core of the Psyche of Nature Itself.
The prize for self deception is experience. And, a promise of more experience. As long as possible. All the good, the bad and the ugly. Gross and subtle. It wants to be eternal as experience. So, it can only make the best of it for as long as it can.
The Catch is that, it needs all the bad and the ugly, to project the good. Thus, the inevitable nature of suffering in experiencing with no escape sign in sight, until an understanding or an insight of itself takes place by an uncompromising self honesty thru introspection. Introspecting its Own Psyche of all the itches and impulses. It only has itself to be liberated from. There's no one else.
You take good care of yourself!

@@joajoajb Thanks for sharing! Your conclusions sound in line with Donald Hoffman's work. Have you read his book, "The case against Reality" or watched his videos? He's a cognitive scientist who developed a theory about the nature of reality and perception w/ his central idea being that our conscious perception of objective reality is essentially an interface or user interface that has been shaped by evolution, but does not necessarily reflect the true underlying reality.
He posits (supposedly vetted/proved by mathematics) that consciousness constructs a simplified virtual reality model optimized for fitness, not truth. So he basically thinks our perceptions act as a user interface, shaped by evolutionary processes to hide the complexity of objective reality and highlight only the fitness-relevant information needed for survival and reproduction.
Our senses misrepresent reality's true nature because filtering out certain details and distorting others was advantageous from an evolutionary fitness standpoint for our ancestors. He thinks abstract mathematics may provide a better window into the true nature of objective reality than the physical perceptions shaped by evolution. Curious: How did you come to the conclusion about "consciousnesses self deceiving nature. Its subjective nature is full of self deceiving tendencies and projections. It does that for one reason. To continue to Experience". Also wonder why you think "Life that drives survival can only function on self deception"? Animals life is driven by survival and as you stated, "humans are far more deceptive than all other life forms put together". When you see people like Warren Buffett, Steven Pinker, Robert Sapolski (wrote book Determined...thinks there is zero free will), Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Google Founders, all of these people (especially Musk) seemingly have very little self deception. Their survival rate (financially anyway) appears much higher than those who are deluding themselves. Are most of your conclusions from insights itself thru introspection or also because of certain other humans?

@@JamesDidato A baby gazelle hiding in the tall grass, peeks out and shocking witnesses her mother gazelle screaming in pain, from being torn and eaten alive by a pack of hyenas. The fear almost stops her heart and freezes her body.
A man in north Korea hides in a bush and witnesses his mother, his wife, his son and the daughter, being dragged away to be tortured and executed to be made an example of. What was the crime? The family, secretly watched a South Korean tv drama on a dvd out of curiosity.
The man greatly suffers by what the society imposes and dictates.
What is the man to do? Where can he go to find comfort?
The man closes his eyes from the society, the world, and enters into the world of imagination. In his imaginative world, he finds everything he desires. Everyone is peaceful, loving, kind and beautiful. Only in his imaginative world, he finds all the beauty, happiness, peace and hopes. So, the man finds some comfort from fear, anger, and confusion. Even finds some imagined hopes that someday, his imagined world can come to pass. One more way and device for life to drive survival, wins the day. So, it continues.
Man and society. Man and world. Man and universe. Man and Nature.
The society, the world, the universe, the Nature always takes up a higher position to impose and dictate. So, Man suffers. But, suffers with hopes . Hopes have to be guarded, otherwise, life loses. Can life lose?
How can there be life without self deception? There cannot be.
The implication of self honesty in self introspection, is far too great to be put into words.
Self deception always wins in life. It has always won throughout history, ever since life began. So, it continues.
Anyway, you take good care of yourself!

@@joajoajb There's no question that we are having the "experience" from evolution and the animal kingdom and we are indeed the paragon of chimps. And no question that nature can often be red in tooth and claw. But none of this explains Near Death Experiencers experience which is seemingly (from almost all accounts) the greatest experience of LOVE. No explanation of suffering on this earth plane can explain why they all say it's like "Going Home", & it's "more real" than this realm. Why they feel like "light" and "love" and as if 'bathed in that love". Focusing on the suffering here doesn't explain WHY Near Death Experiencers all state that communication is direct (like telepathy). Or why they come back with info they should not know.
Focusing on some of the suffering that occurs in this world doesn't mean that our Awareness (or Experience) does not survive this world just like our Avatar when we dream can certainly write youtube messages about the suffering that occurs in that dream but once awakened, it's very clear that our Awareness survives the nightmare from last night. And most are likely having a more pleasant experience in this realm than say the nightmare from last night where they may have been raped in the dream.
If we are in a better realm here, than say the nightmare we were having last night, why couldn't we have an even better experience when we shed this skin suit? I understand that humans delude themselves. That's fine as far as it goes. But with respect to searching for truth, don't you think that NDE Researchers such as Moody and Dr. Parnia and Dr. Greyson, Dr. Alexander's research as well as Donald Hoffman's research should be looked into? If the math shows that there's a 0% chance we see reality as it truly is, it's almost beside the point to point to the suffering in this world as some sort of evidence that our Awareness does not survive this realm or that the next realm is not infinitely better than what we experience as humans in this realm. If we only recount what our perceptions perceive in this realm, we can come to conclusions that are just not true.

Lots of words that mean nothing and give the impression that the person is very wise.
