    • @EdinburghFive
      @EdinburghFive Před 4 lety +2

      Hi@@christiangrendel9893 - I have been to many parts of Canada. All really great. For such a small Province, Nova Scotia is very diverse in its landscape. Beautiful coastlines from dramatic rocky bluffs to white sand beaches that stretch on for miles, lush green farmlands producing lots of table crops, orchards, and also grapes and hops which produces good wines and great beers. Further east are the highlands which look a lot like Scotland and guess who settled there - the Scots. They even distill whiskey there. Lots of other craft distilleries scattered throughout the Province. Great places to hike, canoe/kayak, sail, etc. If you make it there you will have to try out rafting on the tidal bore. Halifax, the capital city, is very ethnically diverse, has a great food & music scene and has a perpetually young vibe due to all the university students attracted to the many universities that call Halifax home.

      Nonsense! She was probably kissed on its rear side. That is more realistic! If you sit on its side all life then all you see is the dull landscape from your window. Then of course you don't wanna think that you live in the boonies, rather in the tropical paradise.

    Summer is super warm from the huminity and the best beaches to cool off.
    Fall has some of the greatest most interesting scenery.
    Winter it gets alot of snow and you can go sledding down some mountains and have a good time

    You're not wrong about just scratching the surface. :) I'm not blaming you. I've lived on Cape Breton for almost 40 years and I've barely seen everything this place holds. Cape Breton alone has more lakes than most US states, is full of wild life, beaches, camp sites, cliffs, caves, museums (Louisburg which is the partial reaction of the old fort, the miners museum where you can actually go into the mine, etc). My suggestion for your next trip is aim to come early to mid November and really see the fall colors and spend a week exploring Cape Breton specifically. You won't be disappointed.

    • @MustDoCanada
      @MustDoCanada  Před 2 lety

      We actually came this year mid-October and timed it perfectly for the fall colours. That video will be out soon! :) However, I've noticed most things close after October 15th and as early as mid September in Annapolis regon so fall colours can be a challenge for tourists

    • @2centschange
      @2centschange Před 2 lety

      @@MustDoCanada Cape Breton is a little different. Some resturants close at the end of october, but some are open year round. We have ski hills and the like up here so tourism is more of a year round thing up here than down there. They usually close then because the thrust of their tourist season is the harvest and fall colors.

    I've lived in N.S for 17 years, if you visit, check out Fort York, I think its called "York-redoubt" or something, that's a cool spot to explore.
    Halifax is a pretty city to walk around at any time, For food, you absolutely must visit Mic Mac Bar and Grill in Dartmouth N.S. It's a family restaurant, great food and service, be warned, its usually busy, for good reason tho. Peggy's Cove is pretty, but its a tourist hot-spot. If you have a vehicle, drive the coastal roads in any direction, they usually go through fishing towns, and are curvy, and scenic for hours.

      Sir William actually named it Nova Scotia in 1621 when he received his Royal Charter from James I (or of course James IV to all good Scots). It took a few years to put together the financing and logistics before he was able to send colonists to Nova Scotia.

    My husband just got back from a short visit to see the town where the "Jesse Stone" movies were made, mainly Lunenberg. He really enjoyed himself and found the people quite warm, the seafood quite amazing, and the area quite beautiful. Finances permitting, it looks like our whole family would love to go there. They should definitely fix the "Cat" though. He said the worst part of the trip was the boat ride as one engine is down and the trip took 7 hours, as opposed to the 5.5 it should take. At any rate, it appears there is plenty to do and see, and I agree that this video makes a convincing argument to go there. My first stop would be the Raft ride, WOW, how cool is that?

      Hi Stephanie Anne. Nova Scotia is actually the warmest on average Province in Canada. Nova Scotia is surrounded by the ocean thus moderating the climate somewhat. If you live in BC other than in the Lower Mainland or Vancouver Island you would find Nova Scotia's winters easy. The damp cold in the Lower Mainland can often feel worse than eastern winters. Daytime winter temperatures average around 0C or a little better.
