Nice! I operated the later 6008S professionally in the early 1980s. A wonderful camera that ran the larger film cartridges. I even had the Beaulieu stereo projector for my own telecine 25fps work.
Hi, did the motor unit on the 6008 actually bother you back then? I have just had a camera rebuilt on this model and the 5008S that runs without the motors for the lens. Adjusting everything by hand (what else). Feels very good to me, but haven't shot a reel with it yet.
@@super8173 I stupidly ran mine on NiCads so slow running or film jamming became an issue until I built a 'belt battery pack' with an extra battery in series to get the proper voltage to the motor under load. I remember a red LED in the viewfinder would light if the voltage was low and so long as it was not on, everything worked as it should.
Hello, im 25 years old from Italy, last year i felt in love with the super 8 camera world after i found the old beaulieu 4008 my dad used when he was younger. Im now restoring it, all the mechanics have been restored and the electronics checked, it is now a little gem. But my problem now is once i removed the internal filters the lens need to be collimated (i have no clue on how to do it), can i have an email to contact you? i would love to ask some questions :) Thank you, Luca.

If you are based in the US near the east coast Du all camera in NJ can restore this camera! I got mine serviced there and the camera runs like new.
Thanks for your tip! Would you like to write briefly about how much the service cost? The prices are sometimes very different. Of course, the faults are also very different, but mostly it's just missing/old lubrication, cleaning the focusing screen, removing the filter and adjusting the light meter.
