- It has been exactly a year of owning the BMW 318i. I have driven it extensively which is about 24000 kms to be able to get to you a fair update.
In this video, I will be showing you 10 good and bad things about my BMW 318i after a year.
If you are considering to buy a used one, then this video will hopefully help you to decide on making a decision. This car is one of the perfect daily drivers as it has the comfort, efficiency, performance when you need, style and enough of technology to keep you busy during your journey.

Some idiot opened the bonnet while the wipers were off the windshield. Thats how you got that scratch. Secondly what do you expect if you are not careful and bang your door against a wall or another car. Thats not a defect in the car. Its how you take care of your car

Do the bmw engines turbo usually have issues?
I have the exact same chipping on my bonnet @ 1:22 , i've only noticed it like two weeks after i got the car back in 2018, this is very weird, exact same spot, same 318i model, exact look of the chipping, i can even send you a picture of the chipping if you want, seems to me like a manufacturer thing perhaps ?

For a start, it is the nature of the paint applied. The paint is too soft. It gets scratched with your finger nails. It's that soft!
So a few days, I sat understood how the chipping would've happened. The bonnet covers almost the wipers. So say someone was trying to clean the windscreen and decided to lift the wipers. The body of the wiper hits that exact edge and chips the paint. I replicated the same scenario and to my surprise, it looks most likely that reason. Call it a bad design but it should not happen ever in the first place.
Seats were mentioned as uncomfortable and tiring in previous video.. That feedback changed over the year, how it become very comfortable now (9:10) :-) !!
Seats tend to soften with the usage as the fabric stretches and goes through the cycle. In this case, they are comfortable but I still wouldn't rate it as the most comfortable.
Even in the previous video, if I remember, were not deemed as uncomfortable that you cannot sit on it. But I get the sense of confusion and it is plausible.

Great video, but I think some issues that you are complaining about is because your model is a basic one. I own a 2018 320i m pack and it’s amazing so far.
I have a top spec 318i which is what is surprising to me. The 320i M pack must be pretty amazing I'm sure.

@@MisterMZEECars my 318i 2018 has the sports-kit (not m-kit), difference comes with sportier rims and sporty interior, also with an AC for the back seats, instead of the pocket your version has. Your interior is as expected for a basic bmw, my 523i has the same interior, its also basic. My car is now 46k kms and no paint issues, not from the doors nor the hood. About USB cables, let’s not forget its a 3 series, you have the basic version and its 2018, most bmw cars were the same back then. The only thing I would agree is the throttle response, but hey, what are we expecting from 134 hp?

There is 12 v under the glove box
all the features ur missing is being you have the base 318. My 330 has all the features you said was lacking and it has a bigger screen and doesnt have an insane lack of power like yours

the 3 cylinder is shit, the 320 and 330 are good as long as you have the LCI facelift after 2016.

@maxduimovic I guess should be active by default. I'm close to buy an used car , same model and year, 318i 2018, in the drive test the vendor connected his iPhone without issues. Did you fixed?

Hello, i want to ask you a question if u please can answer me, i wanna buy a 318i f30 2016 month 5 with 70000km automatic, this engine , it’s a good engine? The 3 cylinder? Eat oil? Or something bad? I wanna buy the car and keep it for 3-4 hands, i buy it second hand from Germany from a park auto. Many thanks
The safest bet would be to have a warranty on the car before buying. Or get the turbos checked from your mechanic. The engine and turbo set up is really very good for everyday use. There are zero problems currently that I have faced (apart from Turbo replacement covered under warranty). My 318i has done 54,000+ kms in about two and a half years.
@@MisterMZEECars they don’t give warranty because the car it’s in Germany at a park auto and i send a guy to check and buy the car for me to bring it in Romania where i stay. And i check the car if you know on carvertical and there it’s ok, and my guy there in Germany he will check the car, drive it and look around… this is all he can do…

Dude, you bought the entry level car, you expect too much. This is not a review, you're just ranting.
Buy an Arabic car. Oepsidasy.
Dude. You live in a dessert. Buy a camel. BMW is not designed for your giant children playground, it wants “autobahns”.
All of the complaints are addressed in higher trims, and your car seems bare basic, doesn"t even have climate control...
You know those whining kids in the class and mama boy types. Like OMG, if you want heavier doors, more space, better paint and interior, buy a landcruiser or a patrol.
If you want people to sit in your car get a van.
This is a commuter's car. Its more than sufficient for every day driving.
If you want response and acceleration, buy the M3.
BMW offers many variety of engines for a reason.
