- The OnePlus 7 Pro was basically the first full screen/pop-up camera device you could regularly buy here, but that one wasn’t really the bang for the buck device we were used to seeing from OnePlus. The Mi 9T or Redmi K20 has made a lot of headlines recently because it brings a lot of what makes the 7 Pro great to a lower price point. Is the Hype justified?

@@Simon-is2xd the fingerprint scanner isnt really that good. sometimes it doesnt recognize my thumb. sometimse the phone shuts off out of nowhere.
For anyone considering buying this in the UK go for it. I paid £254 delivered for a brand new Mi 9T. I've had it for about 2 weeks and it's been incredible. I'm literally blown away by how great this phone is. Even just the little details like the red power button and camera detail. The software is excellent, it's incredibly fast and smooth, the screen is an absolute joy and the speakers are way better than I've been led to believe by CZcams reviews. It simply is a £600 phone that's available for less than 50% off. Seriously just do it, it has zero drawbacks.

@@jamesndemera975 honestly, it's unbelievable, the speed, the smoothness, the camera. I'm still a bit speechless with how cheap this was. The screen is stunning, and the camera is excellent. Even the front camera

All the reviews I've watch about this phone has a positive battery life impression.... except for this one. As a matter of fact, this device has one of the best battery life according to many drain tests.
I bought this phone yesterday, it came with ~50% charge it and it lasted all the way to the evening with ~20% to spare, overnight it lost 4% so I can say the battery life is pretty good. Perhaps Brian had some apps installed which drain the battery in a background that would explain his poor battery life results
That might be the case. Even the last battery drain test I'v watched, this device vs other various 4k mAh battery devices including k20 pro and rog phone 2, still got the second place behind the sd 855+ equipped gaming phone rog phone 2.

That's the first review in which i heard someone saying that the 1+ pro has a better battery than the Mi9t, get your shit together mate.
Yeah the non pro version lasted 11 hours when headphones were used instead of speakers. The OnePlus 7 pro is actually only 9 hours. No idea how anyone can this that super good battery optimizer is worse than a phone with the same battery, with bigger screen, double speakers, and verry little optimization. You must be doing something wrong
probably because he reviewed the k20 pro version which has 855 that consume more power , the non pro may have less performance but also lesst battery usage
@@MegaHassan3000 the non pro usually gets 1-2 hours more of battery life

The best $350 smartphone I ever had. It has it all from its design, performance, great battery life, decent camera but better with GCAM, dual sim, great AMOLED display, and I kinda liked MIUI 10

the MIUI gestures is what got me hooked to MI brand. I recently broke my Mi Mix 2s and I had to decide between Note 9, Oneplus 7 pro and Mi Mix 3. I went for Mi Mix 3 and I'm loving it
Oneplus and Galaxy Note's gestures are simply not as good as MIUI's. that was the deal breaker for me
I got my k20 for around £240 in India when I visited. It's a very good value phone
I'm surprised you even got to 6 hours SOT. According to your batterystats at 4:06, your phone has been awake almost the entire 20 hours of its current charge.

@Nevercholt Tech the K20 Pro is cheaper than the Mi 9T Pro for a reason .. it was made for the Chinese market and it's not fully compatible with global LTE bands and it won't work properly in the U.K. or certain European countries.
Hey Brian, I'm owning a Mi 9T for a little over a month now and something really is buggy with the battery. I used to get around 8-10h of SoT over 1.5-2 days of usage up until ~2 weeks ago. Now my battery drains noticably faster and my SoT went down to about 5-6 hours over one day. I assume a software update caused this and I really hope they fix it.
Do you use the dual sim? Cause it drains battery a bit more than using a single sim.

You can still the GCAM in this phone also, and the results are simply awesome

i have a pocofone phone and i really am happy with all of it except the screen which you point out is a letdown.now in end of 2019 most affordable phones have amoled that are alot better.

Yeah he was wrong. Funny that he managed to set his phone up so technically yet couldn't find the setting to change the camera noise or just mute it entirely. You can also turn the notification light on and off in the same section. Took me around 90 seconds to find it.
@@z06dave Then the problem was that I gave up after 10 seconds when not finding it in the camera or sound settings 😅 My bad.

@@e.t1031 no. The display shifts slightly every so often so it's never in them exact same spot for too long. (You can't tell unless you stare at the screen for a long time) 💯

I had this phone for some time, returned it because I absolutely hate the software.
I think it's ugly, there's a lot of bloatware and I hate the fact they don't use the regular android settings and dropdown menu.
Buying a Pixel 3a XL instead.

Good call. Then a good question is why? I never had signal problems with the same SIM cards under the same conditions.

if you notice, in your battery consumption screen your phone is awake the whole time. i had the same issue and high battery consumption. debloating the MIUI apps solves this problem.
And I thought the times of battery eating bloatware were gone.

First fullscreen pop-up camera phone was the Vivo Nex. Get your facts right.
And you can't cut quotes short. "...that you could regularly by here". The Vivo Nex was never available in the west without importing.

This phone is only $350 whereas OnePlus 7 is at $500 mark. Don't get the 6T its already getting old and has a notch, yet more expensive than the 9T.
@@jopsmoflo FYI they don't use Xiaomi phones because they live in the US where Xiaomi phones don't fully support their network bands. Also, if they can use it they will still be in disadvantage in network coverage.

Mi 9T. I would stay out with those cheaper Samsung Galaxy devices. Its either S or Note series or none
I chose the MI 9T. I had to really think about it though.
