This video didn’t have the Mexico head coach getting a red card, the multiple altercations between players, and bottles being thrown at team USA
Yeah missed all of the juicy bits. The real reason there were +7 mins of stoppage time
Glad you told me this because I’m not watching now lol those were the parts I wanted to see the reaction to.
The reason I believe Mexican commentators cheer just as loud when the US scores, is because there are millions of Mexican/Americans living in the US, who cheer for both sides, because their hearts are in both places. And in the end: soccer is soccer!
Sounds like a bunch of plastic fans support the country you were born in 😂
@@MatthewHackett Well, I was born in Brasil and I live in Botafogo Rio de Janeiro,Brasil. We happen to be 5 time world champions and have more hardware internationally then any other country!
So either you know nothing about futbal or you need to explain to me what a plastic fan is, cause I tried looking it up and couldn’t find it. My English isn’t the best.
@@Princeofbrazil I’m talking about the people who were born and lived in the USA the entire lives and support Mexico
Well, almost every Mexican-American I know could give two shits about the USA. Especially/At least when it comes to football.
@@manwithnoname7592 You can say it! We are all thinking it! The US sucks when it comes to futbal. Got to give their 20,000 fans credit for sticking with them. 💯
The reason Mexican and Middle Eastern commentators talk a lot, it's because they are actually describing everything that is happening because sometimes it is or they are used to broadcasting through the radio since not everyone owns a TV in some of those countries.
also keeping it 100. a lot of poorer people in those countries don't waste money on TVs. people go to local bars to watch the game. So even if you're outside and can just hear it you'll have a good grasp of whats going on.
I'm not so sure about that. There's specific radio programs commentating the games that aren't affiliated with the TV broadcasters. At least here in Argentina. I think it's just the style that was inherited from last century from when there was only radio to broadcast the games, also for sure there were less TVs back then.
TDLR Basically the style of radio broadcast ported over to TV some years ago, not that there aren't enough TVs.
Mexico isn't that poor, it's just the way sports in done in Spanish. I know from watching tons of baseball and soccer in Spanish.
Latin America ain't the average sub-sharan country.
Mexico is not in Africa , Jesus fucking christ.
Watched live and was so proud of the way team USA played and how they handled team Mexico’s aggression.
@@melahalo4014
Not as much as in Mexico. When was the last time a whole bus load of Students were kidnapped and never to be seen again in the U.S.?
@Me La Halo
You sure you want to bring up violent crimes in the US? Undocumented Mexicans are up at the top of the list.
@@lennyjenkins9931 Well, at least here there is respect and culture, here people are not killed just for being black
@@melahalo4014 there’s no respect😂 someone dies un justly here there’s protests. It happens in Mexico and it’s a normal Tuesday and nobody cares
Indeed. Don’t have to have a bodyguard to come work in the US. I’ve had a bodyguard assigned to me every single trip to Mexico from 1992 til now.
Further...USA saw 19K murders in 2019. Mexico had over 35K in same year. Not even close. Who knows how many actually happened and how many people “disappeared” that weren’t even counted?! 🤦🏻♀️
5:40 this is actually an American broadcast. A lot of Spanish speakers in the US are USMNT fans too.

The rivalry is strong with the USA and Mexico. The USA, for a long time, was never a threat to Mexico until recently.
You drunk we have a positive record against them since the year of 2000
@@Johndoe-kw5zr The rivalry dates back to 1934... sooo you're drunk. In the 71 games they played, Mexico is up. 36 wins to USA 20 wins.

They are still not a threat he wasant off sides but to be honest I don’t blame them for saying it was after what the fans did. The fans always make Mexico look bad
Weird. The best parts of the match weren't in that video. And by that I mean, the fights, the fans throwing beers, and Pulisic blowing kisses to the Mexican fans after scoring the penalty. lmao
That's cause it was the telecast for Mexico, didn't want to show it prolly lol
funny but sad at the same time is the fact that a lot of the "mexican" fans that were there are actually mexican americans, like, I get you're supporting your parents or grandparents's country of origin but like, you guys are american now lol
@@benstark6105 Exactly, and these are the people making such a big deal of our border policies and whatnot. Ridiculous is all I can say
Oh wow, yeah, I'd forgotten about Pulisic goading the Mexico fans. That takes two-ton balls, man, ya don't just do that lightly!
Idk why every reaction video has the same shitty highlights. Can’t they play the official one?! Unless it’s copyright
It's funny how they laugh at the commentators but for us that are used to it and enjoy it we find English commentators boring and lacking emotion. The added value of that is that you can multitask with a Hispanic commentator cause you would never miss the important stuff if you're looking away, whereas I never know what's going on with an English one.
Nailed it.
I never know what’s going on with the Spanish
commentators because I don’t speak Spanish
@@michaeltnk1135 But you can (more easily) tell when there's a goal because of the scream even if you're far away from the screen or listening on the radio.
@@danigar If I only cared about hearing when a goal was scored then I’d just look up the score
@@michaeltnk1135 I think you're missing my point, but is all good. It's just a personal observation that I can put games on the background without paying attention and get alerted when something happens because of the screams/emotional commentary. I can't do that with English commentary, but then again I'm not a native speaker so of course I know they probably don't have the same problem :)
Had the U.S. fans had acted like the Mexico fans during that game, it’d would’ve be in our news cycle for a month of how terrible a country we are. And then held over us for the rest of time.
Its so funny watching the Legacy Media die as they continue to sell division. Its Karma baby.
I'm pretty sure the fans were majority American no matter which side they rooted for.
To be fair Mexicans do that in Mexico when their own teams play against each other.
@derp derpin You live under a rock if you think that.... the US pro league has 27 teams and growing..
@@1BobsYourUncle
MLS is still hot Garbage
As a USMNT fan, we still have a long ways to go, but it's very encouraging seeing the US put out more young players in Europe! Including some that are apart of pretty big sides, like Pulisic, Dest, Reyna, McKennie, Adams, Musah etc, who are all young and have broken through at their clubs. It's the most talented generation that US has produced by far and hopefully we can build upon it
Idk man soccer still isn't a big thing in US. It's pretty much relegated to girls in school. North America never caught on the soccer train like lat am and Europe.
@@mverick5444 Oh for sure there is a long way to go, but it's nice to see signs of progress at least
I agree, and it's been a long road.
There has been great talent in the US since the 1980s, but nobody was looking for players here. Rob and Rich Ryerson, Bruce Murray, Darryl Gee, Rick Davis, Tab Ramos, John Harkes, etc. Although none of those players would be considered superstars in world football, their generation did pave the way for later players. They did well enough that European clubs starting paying attention to players in North America.
Pretty big and growing in the Southern football states. Finally starting to really separate from just the Hispanic fans for Mexico/Central Amer. or just small Club followings.
Lots of college players that are starting to branch into soccer as well, or from soccer into other sports.
So, it's a good base to grow on, just need this generation to get old and watch the actual US team as well lol. Need to figure out whether it's National, college, or club though.
@@mverick5444 Have you been living under a rock for the last 20 years? The MLS has seen growth in attendance every single year for the last two decades, including a stretch where the big four all saw attendance declines. Youth programs have almost tripled as a result, and it's become very popular in areas where it used to have no foothold like Atlanta and Ohio. They are barely behind hockey numbers-wise at this point. Is it like Europe? No, still quite a ways to go for that. Your claim that it's "relegated to girls in school" is hilariously stupid, though. Sounds like something people said back in the 70's.
I love that after a whole exhale of "GOOOOAAAAALLLLLL" he decides its completely fine to do it another time or 2.
Damn that announcer is both fantastic and exhausting at the same time.
You are watching Univision, which is the Spanish language channel in the United States. USA has one of the largest Spanish speaking population in the world, roughly the same number as Spain. The US vs. Mexico rivalry (or derby) is amazing; not just because of soccer, but because of geo-politics on this side 'of the pond.' Soccer may not be the top sport in the US, but is growing and this rivalry is also gowning. Love the reactions.
oh my, you missed so much of this game with this recording. go back and watch it on your off time, we had Mexico coach red card, naked streakers on the field, mexico's fan doing homophobic chant, also them throwing things onto the field hitting multiple players, you had a guy yeet himself off a balcony where the TV studio was escaping security lol. Wildest game I have ever seen. *edit yah about 3 fights too
:D
I think they edited the video so that it wouldn't show everything and get taken off CZcams. I watched those full highlights and while it didn't show everything, it showed most of everything
None of these thing have anything to do with the final score.
The chant isn’t homophobic, oh my gosh.
It's not homophobic
This video cuts out all the good stuff, mostly of what made Mexico look bad lol
For real, I wish they showed the part where the Mexican fans tried to hit US players with trash and cups but nailed their own player in the head instead lol
Nah it doesnt make mexico look bad, just makes the people that did throw stuff look like idiots thats all. Dont point the finger at mexico for something that a few dumbasses do.

He is a commentator for USA, UNIvision Broadcasting Channel.
do not make mistakes or invent falsehoods !!!!
GOAL! for the US gets as much hype as GOAL! for Mexico. This is an American based broadcast. The US has the second most Spanish speakers in the world -- second to only Mexico. More people speak Spanish in the US than in Spain or in Colombia. BTW great reaction video guys. Thanks.
It dosnt though......
This was the 1st edition of the CONCACAF Nations League, modeled off your UEFA Nations League.
Stayed up till 1:30 in the morning (American time) to watch this game and the trophy presentation. Also, this highlight reel leaves out a lot. Watch the whole match on your own time because there was a lot of extra stuff (scraps, a red card, etc.).
***MEXICAN HERE***
There is no such thing as a “homophobic chant”, people think that “Puto” has one meaning and one meaning only but it does not. The Spanish language has many meanings for one word and it all depends on context, in this case it has NOTHING to do with the LGBT community what so ever.
I thought they chanted that word that is similar to "J". Because that would make sense. Puto to me growing up was always female dog (,towards women) or prostitute. It kind of translates into weak males right? Doesn't bother me, better then piss in a bottle 😂. I can understand some sort of punishment but calling you all homophobic and having no fans in the estadio Aztecca es no bueno. We want to play the best team in the toughest environment. It's tradition. 😐
you're absolutely right about it having multiple meanings but holy what a miss on the rest of ur comment
the chant needs to stop end of
Crazy that it was pretty much US backup keeper's hometown... it's like a movie script in real life
That commentary was doin' my head in.
SPANISH COMMENTATORS OVER ENGLISH ANYDAY!!! The emotion is there it makes you so much more emotional, English commentators don’t even shout if you’re not in the room you wouldn’t even know they scored 😂
Funny part was that this was going on at the same that the eight round hugging match was happening
On why the announcers also got excited for the US goals: TUDN is an American television station that caters to Spanish speaking audiences. So they will hype for both, but for sure the announcers are Americans.
It was the Mexican fans that started to throw beer bottles onto the field. I was watching the game, it took awhile to get everything back in order!
I have to wait a couple weeks but I'll definitely be getting one of the black and white zip up hoodies.
Best Game I've ever been to and A pleasure to be in the Video at 6:09, 12:26-12:29 and 15:44-15:51 haha
This is from Univision which is a Spanish language US based communications company/channel. These particular highlights (at least what is being show on your channel) fail to show the fights, the amount of thrown bottles from Mexican fans (at both teams and hitting players), and the stoppage in play from the chant already mentioned (it's done on opposing goalie punts at the international level). Having lived in Mexico City, the Mexican fans are known to throw bags of piss, batteries, bottles, etc. You don't sit in the open air...you sit under something or at the top, especially if you're American...even at a Liga MX match and especially during El Clasico in Estadio Azteca which is very vertical in orientation. In the US, there are typically so many Mexican fans in the US that they tend to sell out ahead of US fans, making US home matches against Mexico almost like playing in Mexico, especially out west. Some US stadium layouts make the Mexican cup/bottle throwing more effective than others. FYI, US stadiums don't do glass bottles, only plastic which can still smart.
There is long history of rough matches and close matches since they're both typically 1-2 at the top of CONCACAF. Landon Donovan pissing on the field in Estadio Azteca which ROYALLY pissed off Mexican fans a few years ago comes to mind.
The tournament started before covid, so they had to postpone it until just recently. They picked back in the semifinals. That's probably why most people didn't know about the tournament.
I think the reason the commentator says so much is because they use the game commentary as the radio commentary as well, so he's describing the action for the people who aren't watching. Kinda like how the old 1st division used to be before 5live and talksport lol
Ethan Horvath is from the Colorado area where the match was being played. He substituted Steffen and had several important saves including the penalty.
Fantastic match. So proud of team USA!
this is a Spanish language broadcast in the U.S. the u s as a large Mexican and 1st generation Mexican American population. so the broadcast narrates for both those spanish speakers rootinf for either side.
I played Soccer a little bit in school PE classes. It seemed a lot like running track, except you had a ball to kick. It was 99% running and occasionally you got to kick the ball.
the spanish commentators have US and American fans. They are pros. They cheer on both sides. Claudia Reyna played for Rangers, too. Gio Von Borckhurst was like his best friend. Gio Reyna, the son, is named for VOn Brockhurst.
The US highlights showed parents Claudio and Daniella, I think, the mom, also an athlete, celebrating his FIRST goal for USMNT.
It's much more intense with Mexican commentary
CONCACAF Nations League was played at the same time as yours, but ours was paused by the COVID break, the semi's and final was played just recently.
React to the texas a&m college football game against LSU !!! It was the longest college football game in history with there being 7 overtimes
Love that you picked up on Reyna's father playing for City. I'm nearly 40 and born and raised in the US and grew up watching Caudio Reyna play for the US. Early on in my following of USMNT Reyna was one of the more prominent guys playing overseas and at one point he was considered the best all around player for the US. Gio Reyna's mother also played for the USWNT at one point. He has some good genes.
these guys show no emotion. i believe watching paint dry would be more exciting than watching a game with these guys.
Dude on the left laughs more at the "gooooool"than the key and Peele sketches
Hahaha love when these two teams go to war on the pitch ✌️
You needed to see the extended highlights with the English commentary to really understand the rivalry more and how young the USA team is and this was the coming out party for the Golden age of American soccer.
Months of multiple Dave Chappelle clips, Bill Burr clips, Patrice O'Neal clips etc- Guy on the left is like "heh, that was funny."
15 minutes of Mexican Football Commentary- Guy on left can't control himself with laughter.
I see now what it is from North America makes 'Guy on left' laugh out loud. 😆
When Pulisic scored the pen, the US team went to the Mexican fans in the corner and were pelted by drink bottles. Lots of them. There were several near fights from that point to the Horvath penalty save. Really a crazy, crazy game. Oh, and that was the Spanish language station you were watching. I believe ESPN did the English language coverage.
An epic narration was Christian Martinoli's narration during the last hexagonal matches for the 2014 World Cup CONCACAF World cup qualifiers. Mexico playing away in Costa Rica with Mexico needing a win or Panama to loose against the USA in order for Mexico to advance to a playoff against New Zealand for the last World Cup spot. Do react to it! It's the most epic narration to date!
Having grown up playing soccer in Texas I can confirm the being called a puto by a Hispanic person is a run of the mill insult, not out of the ordinary at al. If someone calls you a “puto”, you just look them in the eyes and say “yeah? Well chinga tu madre” and then keep playing the game. It’s a great way to make friends!
Gio Reyna's dad AND mom played for the U.S. national team. Now, that's football DNA.
It was great to see them in the stands, just being proud parents celebrating their son’s goal.
One of them rare high scoring matches.
C'me on.. those "homophobic" chants aren't really homophobic. They have nothing to do with actual homosexuality. Those are just chants to tease the rivals (British football chants are even more direct & sinical). Mexican fans have been using them since decades ago & things were cool. It just got infamous since 2014's WC 'cause of Croatian players couldn't handle it
They cut out so much. Fans were throwing bottles and cans at the players a few times and Gio Reyna got hit in the head with a full can while celebrating the Pulisic goal. There were a couple scrums, the Mexican coach was thrown out of the game for touching the ref during a VAR check, as you saw Steffen was injured, the game was back and forth all night, and was even stopped because of slurs chanted by some fans. There was so much drama. I’m a relatively new soccer fan but it was one of the best games I’ve ever seen!
Was actually Mexico's head coach that was red carded during VAR check.
@@GLWrath Yeah it was! The game was so crazy, idk why in my memory it was a USA assistant coach haha. I’m going to edit the post, thanks!
You guys have to reach to memo ochoa vs Brazil 2014 wc. He had a great wc blocking so many goals.
These highlights are from Univision Deportes, which is an American based Spanish language sports network, that explains why both teams' goals got the "gooool" calls.
Hello, Gents. The network is a US Spanish-language network. The commentators are pretty objective and neutral these days.
The commentators on this go nuts for both because it is the US Spanish station. One of the guys in the booth is former US national team player Marcelo Balboa so they get excited for both.

Spanish commentating is full of passion. You can get up to grab a bite to eat or use the bathroom and you will come out running back towards the TV when you hear the goal scream. British commentators are boring and if you step away you'll never know that a goal was scored because they literally don't say anything other than "its in". Tbh, I hate English commentary and prefer the Spanish one lol. They narrate the game to a T so even if you're not looking for whatever reason you still now what's happening.
