    I just got the Strix G731 laptop and wanted to add that internal SSD since 500 Gb SSD is not that much.Since I have never really done this, I do have couple of questions.
    Do you absolutely need the tool you used to prop open the laptop or can just my fingers work as well?
    How fragile are the ribbon cables holding up the case?
    Also, the laptop also has a 2.5 inch hdd bay, right?Is this relatively safe? Do i need to worry about static or working with the laptop on a carpet?

    • @TechFinds
      @TechFinds  Před 4 lety

      Hey, you won't open it with only fingers, you need any thin piece of plastic to separate the bottom lid from the deck. It can be anything, a credit card, guitar pick.. But the tools I used are much more convinient. Don't worry about cables, because they won't break unles you pull the lid up fast without disconnecting them. The laptop has 1x 2.5" drive bay for HDD or SSD and 1x M.2 slot for SSD UT you already have 500gb one with windows here. I have never got shocked doing upgrades, but for safety reasons people recommend to disconnect the battery. (I never do that) But for sure the laptop must be unplugged
