I live very very close to this home. The gentleman who owned this was a wonderful caring man. I know alot about this house.
Love this house. I could see myself actually living here. I wonder in what state this is located. Lovely
Do you have a clue why there would be so many pandas?
You should ADD WHAT YOU KNOW…PLEASE…DONT TEASE INFORMATION. 😊
I hope that someone will buy this wonderful house and save it from being destroyed through time and neglect.
I’d like to look into buying and restoring the house. How do I contact you?
How can anyone let this house go to waste. Amazing architecture. You will never see a house like this in your lifetime. And by the way awesome vid...
OUR YOUNG PEOPLE TODAY WOULD NEVER BELIEVE THAT SUCH BEAUTIFUL HOMES BUILT WITH MASTER CRAFTSMANSHIP WITH SO MUCH DETAIL WAS EVEN POSSIBLE !!!
IF THESE BEAUTIFUL PLACES ARE NOT PRESERVED ***
FUTURE GENERATIONS WOULDN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO BE OF COMPARISON
I often wonder do you all get permission to go in these properties?
What is a satay? I believe you're thinking settee
I'd renovate into apartments, in the best natural way .
The craftsmanship is a treasure. Unbelievable amounts of time, sweat and blood went into that ceiling alone.
Probably took them forever to build that.
@@RangerRickTV so sad it got abandoned, Probably after the rise of Germany the owners had to move away.
That house is fantastic! It's like a fairytale! It should be taken care of. It's a house built of love.
Yessssss!
I grew up and currently live down the road from this house it’s been one of my favorite houses for a long long time. The history is interesting behind it
What state? South by any chance?
Please share what you know. It may help someone save it. I see holes where water is getting in. It needs someone NOW.
This house needs to be restored to it’s original glory!!!!
My dream home! It is so sad that beautiful homes such as these are left to rot .
THANK YOU MR. SMITH FOR SHARING YOUR AMAZING LEGACY OF COMPASSION AND LOVE FOR LIFE AND HUMANITY 🙏🙏🙏
MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT MY FRIEND ❣️❣️❣️
REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND YOU HAVE DONE WELL IN THIS LIFE ❣️❣️❣️
GOD BLESS YOU 🙏🙏🙏
The craftsmanship of the wood work & leaded glass is incredible! Thanks for sharing this unique place!
It's such a beautiful mansion. The architecture is a masterpiece. Hopefully, someone comes, to live there.Simply wonderful.
I love exploring abandoned places. There was an old shack in the woods that I found about 15 years ago. It belonged to the 98 year old woman who ran a store just up the road but she no longer lived in it. Everything looked like it was frozen in time. Dishes, fiurniture, dolls, blankets. Omg you name it. But when she passed away, her grandchildren ransacked it and took everything. It was so beautiful at one time.
Her grandchildren?
@@monikaheron3851 That's right. She didn't stutter.
Awe that's just horrible.
Seen this house on another explore channel and this is the best house ive ever seen on any channel yet .....
Hopefully someone will restore this lovely home and enjoy it for many years. It’s lovely!
I think it is going to be
It’s Columbia station
Such a beautiful house. The owner sounds like he was a wonderful man. 💗
This house is in Columbia Station, Ohio. As soon as I saw the unique roof lines and then the green houses of mari gardens I knew. Always wondered what it looked inside and the history. Very interesting
When he said the owner graduated from Ohio State I thought the house was probably in Ohio but Columbia station is still quite a hike from there.
I've always loved this place!! I can't believe it's gotten to this state.
@@therealz360z7 I know quite a few from this area that went to OSU.
What an awesome example of a 30’s Tudor house! It should be restored!
I certainly would not focus on that tacky furniture in the drawing room! The people who built this estate would have had fine furniture that went with the architecture!
Those floors that you mentioned are original.
That furniture is worth more than a new car.
@@toddaulner5393 indeed
Cool and beautiful old house. The loft area above was probably used as a location to place musicians during parties. I lot of grand old homes had them overlooking the ballrooms.
He sounds like a really great guy. I wish I had the money to fix it n keep his dream alive.
Same
Thermador kitchen stove is from the 70's .. a vintage piece worth keeping!! IMO. Thermador was a TOP brand, still in business today over a 100 year old company.
This house should be a museum ❤
That would be a good use for this house i truly hope someone can buy it and restores it to its former glory
@@user-uc4yu6hd3y If you notice in the video many of the windows have the manufactures label on the middle of them and quite a few rooms had new drywall and plaster on them so someone is slowly fixing it . That's probably how he got in .
Good to know renovations🥰🥰 are often started and no completed hope this one gets completed@@rond1475
Very religious man with artifacts throughout this unusual home/hospice. Quite a bit of styles. Looks like updates in different tastes. Would be an exquisite restoration. Good bones! Oh and those wonderful carved faces I do believe they are of the 7 deadly sins. Very appropriate and quite incredible. Especially for the religious owner.
they are not, the faces are charactors from Dickens books.
It's so beautiful, such a shame he didn't get to do what he wanted. If I had the money, I'd buy it and restore it. And yes, it's French. If not original, then a great copy. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful architecture and the roof is a piece of art.
What an absolutely lovely home. I can only hope that someone falls in love with it, moves in, and brings it back to life.
Thermador was top of the line for appliances back in the day
18:38 Looks like Batchelder, Claycraft, or other arts & crafts era tile; probably original to the house & valuable. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Reminds me of the Adam’s family house on the inside but it’s a shame all those photos and personal things are going to ruin like that what a grand place just going to shambles very sad
Absolutely stunning! It definitely should be made into a museum!
💯
Hey Ranger Rick: the record album at 17:05 is a collection of piano pieces by Franz Liszt, performed by Aldo Ciccolini. "Les Annees de Pelerinage" translates to "the years of pilgrimage."
My mom was a pianist I was very interested in who they we're
Thankyou
A beautiful house. The great room looked almost like Gothic architecture. Amazing that it is just sitting there. 🐼
That roof is amazing!
The oven is pronounced Therm-ah-door. I’ve seen several Thermadors in old mansions. Cool explore!
Hahaha thanks
I would love to go into a place like that and straighten it up so it looks like it might have when it was originally abandoned. Get the trash out, vacuum the floors, dust, clean the windows. etc... I guess that's not popular. It might make some good before/after videos.
I agree with you. In all of my years watching abandoned place series, I have observed only 2 explorers who take the time to bring back a few homes back to their original glory. Of course, this is after the hoodlum low life's go inside and dishonor and disrespect property that doesn't belong to them. The majority of explorers I've watched walk over family photos rather than bother picking them up. Then they leave doors and windows opened so the elements and birds can become trapped and the elements further destroy the home. Makes me ill to see these lowly character attitudes.
Liszt, Franz Liszt was the artist on the albums. He was a Hungarian composer. Mostly piano! :) Really great video, thank you. This is one of the best tours of an abandoned home I've seen. The great room is so beautiful. Too bad it fell into such disrepair. Gorgeous house.
Nice to see someone appreciates it’s beauty and is restoring it.
Simply magical!! I see so much potential to restore this beauty. The kitchen is rather creepy. Great explore!
So beautiful. It’s a little creepy considering the history, but I can see the building can remade into a school or a restaurant/bar. Sad most of the stuff were left to rot. Generosity could have saved the place.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ❣️❣️❣️
I SIMPLY CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THESE OLD BEAUTIFUL PLACES ARE NOT PRESERVED FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS TO WITNESS AS PROOF OF SUCH BEAUTIFUL ARCHITECTURE AND MASTER CRAFTSMANSHIP HAVING BEEN EVEN POSSIBLE !!!
❤ At the end, you can't take it with you.
Even if you were a millionaire, restoring this beautiful home to it's original splendor would bankrupt you. But it would feel so damned good to live in it.
It is usually spread out over generations, I think...foundation check first, even better a building inspection, roof repair then securing doors and fixing windows. Getting utility systems operating. Clear brush. Then the inside, general cleaning, repair, decor. Landscaping, outdoor living, food garden farm. Good friends, beer and pizza goes a long way. =0)
I don't understand how someone can just find all these nice abandoned places that still hold a ton of valuables and furniture? Makes you wonder why it's all still left behind in every video I seen so far?
That's beautiful! I would have loved to come across something like this while urbexing, but I don't think there are places like this in Norway.
The furniture and everything being so pristine after all this time. Just amazing. I hope someone will buy the place and move in, it shouldn't just sit there to rot.
Don't ever bend to someones bitterness in the comments. Stay exactly who you are. Thank you for your videos. I like them a lot.
What a wonderful house to say the least. Maybe the pandas went the people he was helping. Too bad it is in an abandoned situation though. Maybe someone will buy it and restore it. Nice thought. Have a great day
I love Tudor homes. This would be so much fun to bring current. BTW that's a Jesus doll...no comment lol
The kitchen is beautiful, could see myself doing sooo much cooking in there. ❤
Ikr
That's a major brand of Wall Oven going to say maybe the 1980's era. Thermatronic II BY THERMADOR. But could be mid 1970's but is a higher end Brand of kitchen major Appliance.
Wow… yep. Thermador appliances today are tens of thousands of dollars.
Also, I noticed the brief moment the camera panned past the built-in refrigerator. That was probably a SubZero fridge. Not sure if Thermador made built-in refrigerators back in the 70s like SubZero did. And it looked like the refrigerator door had been removed and stacked over to the side. This would have definitely been considered a high-end kitchen decades ago. SAD…
Hello new to the channel and loving it so far!!! This house is AMAZING!! Iam from maine an abandoned houses just are like this here .. I can't get over how beautiful thus house it.. thank you so much for the share
This looks like a home that you only see in fairytales. Beautiful! Somebody mentioned where it is so it really isn't that far away from me. Maybe 40 mins. away.
This home is beautiful
😊OMG...I want it...totally
That first room on 2nd floor-is a viewing room for owners to view church sermons/meetings for privacy
Beautiful house 😊 amazing
I love what you've done with the panda bears looks like a tea ☕ party 🥳🎉😂❤
About the heads near the ceiling: Henry the VIII started that little tradition. He wanted all who came to visit to know that he had eyes and ears everywhere so he knew what everyone was saying about him. That's how they got the name "eavesdroppers". This was after his demeanor changed and people had to walk on eggshells around him. Just a wee bit of historical trivia 😊
I,m from Philadelphia I love watching
Awesome treasure house, with special details, thank you!!!
Wow what a beautiful house
That was perfect timing on 35:41 the panda in the toilet...😂😅😂 Laughed my butt off thank you I needed that . L&R (love & respect) Rchel
Wow!!! It sounds like mr Smith was a caring amazing person!!! 😊
That roof is amazing, wonder how much that would cost today to build.
I believe that furniture is French Provincial which was vert popular in the 70's..
So much cool stuff makes you want to clean and stay.
I love this house I'd buy it!
You had stated in the intro that he went to the seminary. That would explain all the religions artifacts. This house is beautiful. It should be on some kind of registry of historic places. Great video. Follow up PLEASE?🙏🙏🙏
The upstairs "loft" was a Minstrel's Gallery. When the lord of the manor had a banquet, the musicians played up there.
The living room, is very Beautiful and the sofas have company now with all the Panda 🐻 Bears.
I have seen this house before.. I'm 68 years old and I have been collecting all sorts of pandas since I was 16.... So I loved this house... I sincerely hope you put all of those pandas back what you found them..🐼🐼🐼🐼
The pandas said they prefer their new location 😄
I would love to restore this home
That wagon wheel makes me think it's a hunting lodge for the elite and the very very wealthy
He sounds like a compassionate man
This was a nice tour.
The old oven is by thermador. And you pronounce it like therm a door but with only one o not two . I remember cause my grandma use to have one just like that
Imagine getting inside that home and finding all those pandas staring at you 😂
Well critic's will be critic's i wouldn't be the strong Man i am today if it wasn't for those types of people But i really enjoyed the video my guy ..... Much love and respect God Bless 🤍
There's a tears in my eye whenever I'm watching your videos. I'm just wondering that somehow, this people who lives on this abandoned houses are once a part of this world. I'm curios about how they live before😢
The furniture looks like baroque style furniture.....very beautiful and yes, very French...
This is absolutely magical! Is this available by chance?
I would love to do this kind of exploration!!! It’s SO interesting!! Just thinking of the people who lived here and their stories!! ❤
Hell ya
My goodness. What a cool place! Why is it abandoned?? Loving this explore.
Abandoned because he passed away.
I absolutely love it! Hopefully it's not tied up in probate and other things. It's a beautiful place and should be loved, restored and lived in. Thanks for the great explore Rick! Great one!
@@theresayockim3750 thank you!
This place looks creepy to me not cool!
Very cool place…”yes indeed “!!!
Maybe the guy who lived in the house gave the stuffed panda bears out as gifts to people
Love ❤ Love ❤ Love ❤...I would love to live there...Thanks for sharing....❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful home!😊
It would not surprise me if this was once a church. The specific arch of the windows and the balcony overlooking the main room. That would have been for the choir and a piano or organ. Those closets across the wall were for the choir robes. That main room and the cellar are original. Everything else was an add on later. Did you notice the live edge wood? The ax marks on those big beefy beams too. Very aclectic although it looks like a Tudor from the outside.
I believe you mentioned Mr. Smith was going to be clergy of some sort but chose the path of elderly care. All the statues make a lot of sense to me. The law books were very interesting. Old. Perhaps his father and or mother were first generation immigrants. Either dad practiced law or was just interested in it due to being an immigrant. The house likely reminded them of their country.
That therm-a-door oven is high end for sure.
Someone is mowing the lawn. Lol. Also looks like someone attempted to start renovating.
A sad yet inspiring story. Clergy generally devote themselves to God, a life of poverty and helping others. He found his calling. I’m sorry it never came to fruition.
Very beautiful mansion. Some body need to take care of.Very, very, very beautiful.
yes the cotteg is absalotly adorable
I love watching
You find the best time capsule with the most awesome features and antiques ❤😂🎉😊
i love that you did a panda party!!!
Do you have any information if this house could be bought an restored?
Beautiful even in neglect.
That home should be used for what it was intended for.. Its beauitful..just needs some TLC.
What a sad story…..that should be saved and cherished by its future care takers….it should be preserved regardless of cost or work needed!
Indeed it should be 💯
Tudors are absolutely my favorite residential style... if I owned it, I would follow a more restomod restoration ethos - I would do it in a Tudor revival/transitional style...
As a wolverine, knowing he was a buckeye... the apropos is palpable.
I adore this place.
Agreed.
Knew you were from Louisiana when I heard your voice, before reading about you! I grew up in Lafayette! Love your channel, glad I found it!
Hi, I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, but my mom and dad were from Rayne and Crowley. My 1st cousin was Jimmy Baronet - he was Lafayette Eyewitness new man. :) My maiden name was Doiron, my mom's was Planchard.
Then we are related, Jimmy Baronet was my 2nd cousin! Crazy!
Whenever I hear that somebody was the sweetest old man or lady that you could have ever met. I instantly think yeah, right check below the basement. That's where they always hide the bodies..lol. And it's always the "nice people".. .
loved it
"Mr Smith probably had those panda bears for his patients!
Probably so.
Nice video.
