  • Every small town has its secrets, but few are as haunting as the story of the Anderson family. A seemingly normal family living in this secluded mountain home. Until one day... they vanished without a trace.
It's been three years since anyone last saw them. No one knows where they went or why they left so suddenly. This house stands frozen in time; something was off. Something didn't feel right about this whole thing if I do say so myself, which had me perplexed. So, I just had to ask a couple of neighbors about their thoughts.
The first neighbor said this: "They were just a regular family, you know? Parents, kids, and a dog. They kept to themselves mostly, but they seemed nice enough. And then one day, they were just... gone. No warning, no goodbyes."
    and the second neighbor said
"I remember seeing the lights on one night, and the next morning, everything was dark. We haven't seen them since. It's like they just vanished into thin air."
"What happened to the Anderson family? Why did they leave everything behind? Today, we're diving deep into this unsolved mystery. I'll explore the theories, the rumors, and the chilling clues left behind. So join me as we uncover the secrets of the abandoned Anderson house."

I'm sure it has been suggested, but how about just running a property tax search on the address? It's public information & can give you some clues on when it was abandoned or who is still paying the property taxes.

This place is a treasure trove of antiques and collectibles. The cat under the dome is covered in fake velvet and has a small vial of cologne in front of it.Originally there was a fluffy maribou feather behind the cat to make it look like it's wearing a feather boa. I think the brand is Coty. Super X drugstore carried these back in the 1970s. I had one that was turquoise blue. The eyes were little rhinestones. Skinny Dip was a popular cologne. I don't see how anyone could live in a place that junked up but you'd be surprised. I hope that you can find out more about what happened to the family. Thanks for the video.

Why do these houses always look so big on the outside but so small on the inside? It makes me so sad to see pictures and letters just abandoned like that (and ashes??). And who makes their bed before they decide to disappear? Wish me knew what happened to them.

I believe this was the grandparents house too. Saw catholic images of Jesus and the clock. (My in-laws had one too) the hanging on the wall was rug latch hook. Very popular in the 60’s and 70’s. I guess the grandparents passed and the family only took what they wanted. The perfume cologne was from Avon again same time period. The Knick knacks and glassware was also about the same. It really is very sad when a family member passes and things are left behind. I have gone through this in my lifetime too many times, but always stayed to the end to make sure things were packed up. Delivered to family members, friends, neighbors or donated to charity. Their life mattered, and their belongings did too in some sense. It really was heartbreaking for me to go through it, but it honored their life, memories, and saying goodbye. 😞

You should be able to find out who the actual owner is. It is public info through deed recordings and such.
If they left in a hurry why was the fridge all emptied out?
If it was the grandparents house and they passed why would they have theft the change in the bank?
Why would you not sell the property instead of just leave it sit there.
I would search for wills also.
Please go back and see what is behind those doors.

I think one of the hardest things to do is when you’re facing the end of your own life, trying to figure out what to do with belongings that might not be of any meaning to anyone except you. I have distributed as much as I can. I think the rest is going to go to charity. It’s hard trying to make sure that those you leave behind are not going to get stuck with taking care of relationships, things, and legal matters.

That's a Warm Morning heater. They were made to burn wood, coal or coke, and were manufactured by the Locke Stove company, in the 1940s.
The kitchen stove replaced the fireplace, probably, before electricity arrived, around the early 50s.. I saw a wringer washer, out on the porch. Pretty cool.
That's not a baby booster. It's a kitchen chair/ladder/step stool, for women to reach high shelves, and to sit at, if she is at the counter.
That's a home made Teddy bear, with button eyes.
I know when people married, the husband would make a home to bring his wife to, and it might have a kitchen, a parlour, 2 bedrooms, and as children were born, more rooms would be added. Farms went through a really hard time, in the 30s, which would account for the vinyl flooring. It was there to keep in the warmth. When the grandparents died, the kids were grown, and the family would have gone through, gotten what they wanted, and left, always meaning to go back "one day", but no one did, and left it to decay. Maybe they'll see the property, maybe they think parents did, but it's possible that the grandparents are now great great grandparents. Considering that I remember lots of the things you showed, from my own childhood, and I am a great grandma.

Grandma and Grandpa's house. They died. First one, then the other was moved to a nursing home or moved in with one of the kids. The house is still in the family, but has been abandoned because the maintenance and repair and updating is too much work and money. Just my guesses based upon experience and observation. I'm curious as to what was behind those doors, but not enough to destroy property. That stove in the kitchen is an old wood burning one. You picked up one of the burner plates where you'd put a pot or pan or kettle. My guess is they were Catholic due to all the religious iconography on the walls, like that clock that fascinated you.
