I was in this house years ago when I worked for the lady who owned it at that time. It was such a beautiful place. I still try to get a look at it when I drive past. My favorite room was the circular one with the painted ceiling. I and the handful of other visitors were given a tour and served dinner. If I remember correctly, I think that our table for dinner was set up in the little yellow room with green trim. I remember it as an enchanted place.

@@brucebeamon5460I’m not sure. There was an outbuilding we were told had originally been a stable, but we weren’t shown the interior, so I don’t know if that was the building. I think I heard it had burned down, so it was probably a different building. It’s possible they used it as a chapel, but I’d be guessing.
It was inhabited about 20- some years ago, maybe close to 30. My son is 27, and I think he was little when I was there.

That was a beautiful place and could be again with the proper planning and finances! The artwork was beyond splendid and madness at the same time! For the most part it still looks restorable. Not much vandalism more just natural decay.

Hi Rick, heads up on your findings of old places like this with such detailing and beautiful architecture and high ceilings said to be built in the 1800’s. I think this place was Founded, like so many others around the world. These belong to a Civilization before ours. They were very intelligent and used sacred geometry in many of the buildings that are still standing today. Our History is His Story, not ours. It’s an amazing trip finding our truth.

You should have looked a little longer. Houses like that one tend to have hidden doors to secret rooms. That looks like the kind of house that would have hidden treasure behind the wall. I would love doing stuff like this, but I would want to take the treasures that I find😁. Don't you ever get in trouble with the police for going into these homes, or do you get permission beforehand?

at the time 14:52 you say "thats a cool looking clock thats for sure" then theres a voice that said "yes" in agreement to the compliment you gave about the clock. whos voice was that? That home is absolutely fascinating, I love all the colorful artistries, the tile work in the bathrooms, the tiles with printing on them are all imported custom hand painted, individually fired and glazed porcelain tiles.. That last room that is missing the roof I believe it to be a dining banquet room/ballroom and those side cabinets would have been table and chair storage to open the floor for guests to dance and mingle.

She was for sale in 2016. March if my memory serves. I drove over 6 hours for the open house. The mysterious locked room was locked then & the realtors "had no info" on it & no key. In the side entrance off the kitchen there is a hidden "door" that houses most of the wiring for the house. The dining room had beautiful hardwood floors. There was a plate glass window behind the elevator on the 2nd floor that someone broke out that day. The back portion of the house used to be a 2 story veranda decades ago. Hence the medieval looking castle door, as well as the arched "windows", pillars, & brick floor. The roof is completely missing from the veranda that connects the porto cochere & the Chapel. Yes, it's a chapel. It was intact in 2016, roof & all. To the right of the fireplace was a coat closet, to the left a small restroom. On the outside of the entrance to the Chapel was a beautiful depiction of the Last Supper. Under the still beautiful Mary was the the stoup for Holy Water. There is an apartment above the garage, 2 bed as I recall. In the house, every radiator was covered with a radiator screen & each screen had a scene or item on its face that was indicative to each room & its function (I.E. the dining room radiator covers had a basket of fruit on one side & a basket of bread on the other). As you said, every detail from the luxurious bathroom fixtures to hand painted doors & ceilings, from the iron work to stained glass & beautifully carved beams, from the fireplace to the gardens, & on & on was thought of. The house sold that weekend, so I'm very disheartened that she has been left to nature.

I did some work for the listing agent back in 2016. That outside room in the back with the collapsed roof was a chapel. Those things you thought were for storage were for confession if I'm not mistaken. Beautiful home. Sad that no one has revived it. Would be a beautiful venue even if someone didn't want to make a home out of it.
