In this episode, I explore one of the most exquisite Greek Revival abandoned mansions you have ever seen with massive amounts of valuables left behind!!!!!!!!
They torn this beautiful mansion downâŠI live behind itâŠ
Wonderful house. The beginning of the video it says that you have permission to be inside the house and as you continue to show us the house you keep mentioning the windows and the settings outside about people being 10 feet away in the apartment complexes and so forth right outside the windows and itâs very distracting to continually hear that and have you say that being reasons why we canât see rooms properly or you canât walk back into a room the way that you would want to Iâm not understanding why thatâs at the forefront of your mind and again itâs very distracting throughout the video to continually hear this being said and again youâre saying you have permission to be inside the home so Iâm not really understanding ..
Those arenât phones, but intercoms.
You are authorized to visit the property so you don't have to worry about neighbors. Take your time and explore, and most of all, enjoy!
If this is on the Historical Society's preservation list, WHY are they not keeping up with repairs? The decay ?
I'll offer my critique as others have that may help you improve your videos. Don't over produce it. You have too much introduction video at the beginning and the music is way too loud. Your narration can barely be heard because of it. And as others have said, if you have permission to be inside recording don't worry about the neighbors. All of your paranoia detracted from the video. The background information on the families who resided there was very good. The man's hat you noted is not a Top Hat, it's a Fedora. I'm amazed you never heard of Chet Atkins. He was quite famous at one time. A great guitarist. And lastly, the early intercom system was pretty fascinating to me. I thought it should have been obvious what it is. A telephone of that era would not have had any buttons. That is a fabulous old home. It's a shame to see how it is deteriorating. Thank you for recording the inside of it for us all to enjoy.
sad and depressing to see photos left behind. Why do family members not seem tocare. Thats bothersome to me. Beautiful items. Wonderful detail.
Beautiful mansion. However the things on the wall you kept calling them phones is actually the house intercom system. Each room has a button
THIS HOUSE SHOULD BE RESTORED AND MADE TO LOOK LIKE NEW. IF MONEY IS A PROBLEM, IT SHOULD BE DONATED!!!!
They just tore this house down 3 days ago. Iâm so sad. đą
What a shame that itâs not being lived in! What a beautiful home. And the craftsmanship. Absolutely stunning.
i really hope the owners restore this beautiful home .
Beautiful house...
The "clock" like thing in the kitchen is a call button system for the servants. Each room was equipped with a button to call the servants. Someone would press the button, the device on the wall would ring, and one of the hands on the device would point to the room number so that the servant would know which room needed their attention. The device underneath could then be used as a way to talk to them about what they needed in the room that called. It was connected by way of a pipe or speaking tube. Usually, every room that the "masters" of the house would use or occupy would be equipped with a small speaking tube and bell.
Beautiful home, It's a wonder it hasn't been vandalized or destroyed.
Itâs not Greek Revival, which was a very popular architectural style in America until probably a few years after the end of the Civil War, the early 1870s. This mansion is a Classical Revival house, obviously inspired by the beautiful Greek Revival and Antebellum architecture in Alabama.
The thing in the wall in the kitchen is to tell you what room is ringing the help. The bell goes off, the number assigned to the room lights up.
The spoon collection people collected when traveling. And the shoe collection was all victorian. This gorgeous house is a cross between the home I grew up in & my grandparents house in many ways. So beautiful! Thank you so much for documenting this historic gem â€ïž
Most funerals in the South, both poor and wealthy, were held inside someone's house.
I absolutely love watching the exploration of all the CZcamsrs who do abandoned houses I think you all should be commended on your cinematography but even more so you sir excellent cinematography a narrating as well.
