Hey I literally only learned about this when somebody told me but Fallout 4 has a hidden mechanic that when you pick up a gun it will have a certain amount of bullets still in the magazine, meaning that stolen guns will always come with the ammunition in the magazine as well as whatever surplus ammo the person may have had. I do not blame you for now knowing this because the game literally never even attempts to tell you.
It's an easy way to get ammo, especially minigun ammo, early. Put a minigun and exactly one bullet on a corpse. Raiders will loot it. Kill the raider and loot him. You'll get 500 minigun ammo. Out the minigun and one bullet back and wait for another raider to loot it. rinse and repeat for thousands of ammo-500 per raider.

Hey nerbit! Love your videos, but could I suggest a challenge? A terminator themed loadout. Can you beat fallout NV as a T-800 High endurance and intelligence/ low luck and charisma Tag skills: Explosives, Guns, Science Can only use: lever action shotguns, miniguns, grenade rifles, or any guns the terminator would’ve used. also try to get as many implants or cybernetic themed perks.
I think it should count as stealing when you take the implant from Kellogg. I mean, it’s not like he willfully gives it to you. You have to murder him and take it by force. Sure the game doesn’t label it as a stolen object. But that’s just a shortcoming of the game itself. Anyway. Great job as usual!
Kinda surprised you didn't steal any power armor. If you sneak up and pull the fusion core the suit is considered stolen when you get in it after the driver gets out
I'd say that for plot items you get a pass on them as you kind of need them in order to complete the game. So, personally, I'd say you didn't fail the challenge as you did only steal items, you just can't by pass needing Kelloggs brain enhancement.
I just tried the opposite of this run. Actually finished it yesterday. I only used stuff that was willingly given to me (no stealing, looting, etc.). Thank you Nerbit for balancing the universe.
Mandatory items shouldn't count as fails in these runs, considering you have no choice but to take them. What should count as a fail is the viability of whatever loadout the challenge presents. If you ran out of ammo in this run and enemies were stronger than what the bat could handle, that would have been a fail.
You could've stolen a suit of power armor from the brotherhood patrols, they exit them if their power core is blown up, and the suit counts as stolen. I think you can even steal said power core.
Wait, couldn't you just use the Intimidate skill to make every human surrender, pickpocket their stuff and then kill the now unarmed and unarmoured enemy? Wouldn't work on every enemy but it would allow you to get ammo, guns and armour easier.
You should do a Fallout 4 only Caltrops run, of course poisoned ones included. if that's too hard maybe just a traps only run so you could use bear traps.
I have thought of a beautiful play through. “Can I beat Fallout New Vegas as the Hitman” Anyone you kill has to be in secret. If you were to be found killing someone. Every single witness would have to be killed
ngl I loved stealing in oblivion mainly because the lockpicking mini-game actually rewarded skilled lockpickers. I hate the "turn the bobbypin left or right" lockpicking that most games use.
You can skip the memory sequence, or at least make it go faster. Just run past each scene to the next bridge that takes you to the next. You don't even have to watch the memory just run. However you will need to wait for the last memory to complete so you can leave
Not sure if its been done but I'm about to start a run where I can only use items picked up by people I kill. Everything like ammo food weapons etc. Almost like another version of this run, I feel like it'd be a dope video
I know this won’t help you now but, If you go to atom cats garage, there are (I think) two power armor frames you can steal. One has T-60 power armor. Hope this helps later on.
You know the memory den can be skipped if you keep running to the exit path of the memory. Yes, its still long, but not nearly as long as waiting for all of the cutscenes
In fact, much easier than the pipe pistols that exist in game, especially if you're just making one that slam fires. Then you don't even need to deal with springs and triggers and such.
I did something similar to this, it was a only items i loot of people i killed (no environmental deaths, companion kills. naked start) it was surprisingly harder to do than expected because you need to fight against the upgraded gear to get it, and further upgrading that gear is much harder when you can only get scrap off your kills, i call it bounty, but maybe its not as hard as this xD
What a preston is! 😂 Fallout New Vegas as a Gentleman? Formal wear, maria, etc. maybe as a baseball player? Baseball bat, baseball grenades, pitcher’s helmet?
15:00 you can actually do it "legally". you need cait with you. tell her seach body, then complete her quest. and when she sits in that drug seat all the stuff she carries becomes stealeble. EASY
I honestly think quest items that are required should be considered able to give a pass on the run, considering there literally is no other way to proceed without them.
The amphitheater that’s got that cult has a mini nuke you can steal that respawns fairly frequently- with the weapon you can pick up from Goodneighbor that’s a good option
If you want this for a different playthrough, no matter what, if you shoot someone's power armor core they will be forced to exit and it will count as owned. It doesn't matter if they're friendly or enemy, it will always be marked as owned.
I would personally consider this run a success, mainly because the only items you had to get without stealing are all items you don't exactly use in the traditional sense. I feel like the spirit of the challenge is more in staying sufficiently equipped to surpass story quests rather than being able to avoid unique, useless fetch quest items that were just funny gamestate flags, in my opinion.
This run was over before it even began. Before you even managed to slip into the cryochamber, you are GIVEN a vault 111 suit, making the run immediately impossible

he did that in vegas
He’s done that, called the identity theft run
i said that it was like the identity theft run yes, but this isn't "who you kill" its just "pick from a random picker every unspecified unit of time"
Alternative title: can you beat fallout 4 as the American Government
Yep
So, Abraham Lincoln run?
I mean, it technically counts
@@BoldTint sort of, except for freeing the slaves, I guess so...
Hey nerbit! Love your videos, but could I suggest a challenge? A terminator themed loadout. Can you beat fallout NV as a T-800
High endurance and intelligence/ low luck and charisma
Tag skills: Explosives, Guns, Science
Can only use: lever action shotguns, miniguns, grenade rifles, or any guns the terminator would’ve used. also try to get as many implants or cybernetic themed perks.
Does the plasma Rifle count 🤔 or is it only what you see here pal?
I think it should count as stealing when you take the implant from Kellogg. I mean, it’s not like he willfully gives it to you. You have to murder him and take it by force. Sure the game doesn’t label it as a stolen object. But that’s just a shortcoming of the game itself. Anyway. Great job as usual!
Kinda surprised you didn't steal any power armor. If you sneak up and pull the fusion core the suit is considered stolen when you get in it after the driver gets out
You could totally cheese a lot of this challenge by making a companion pick up an item an then steal it from their inventory.
That's if you can pickpocket them which i think you can and if they can actually take them. Then of course preston giving you the bomb
I'd say that for plot items you get a pass on them as you kind of need them in order to complete the game. So, personally, I'd say you didn't fail the challenge as you did only steal items, you just can't by pass needing Kelloggs brain enhancement.
Maybe on the chips you could get a companion to pick them up and pickpocket them from them?
YES! i was wanting to do a run exactly like this because i never steal in this game, this should be great
Each sentence is so densely packed with extreme levels of sarcasm, well done.
I just tried the opposite of this run. Actually finished it yesterday. I only used stuff that was willingly given to me (no stealing, looting, etc.). Thank you Nerbit for balancing the universe.
Nerbit, can you beat New Vegas as Wolverine by using bladed weapons and passive healing only?
Spiked knuckles would fit in well tbh. That or a mantis gauntlet
@@TheChosenMoose01 Yao guai gauntlet
How do you not get bored doing the same game again and again, but due to your will to keep beating the same game this earns a subscription.
I’m with you on the Oblivion thing. Being a thief in that game just feels so good
I don't know if it's your best thumbnail, but it's definitely one of them.
Mandatory items shouldn't count as fails in these runs, considering you have no choice but to take them.
What should count as a fail is the viability of whatever loadout the challenge presents. If you ran out of ammo in this run and enemies were stronger than what the bat could handle, that would have been a fail.
Wouldn’t you be able to take items off of the enemies you killed because it is technically stealing it from them
You could've stolen a suit of power armor from the brotherhood patrols, they exit them if their power core is blown up, and the suit counts as stolen. I think you can even steal said power core.
You finally remembered to use the save you made before you exit the vault to create your character!
Can you beat fallout 4 without jumping, sneaking, or sprinting?
Wait, couldn't you just use the Intimidate skill to make every human surrender, pickpocket their stuff and then kill the now unarmed and unarmoured enemy?
Wouldn't work on every enemy but it would allow you to get ammo, guns and armour easier.
"food would be a life saver for the rest of this run" me making breakfast every morning
I can't believe I actually got to watch this video within the hour of it being posted keep up the great work I love your challenge videos
You should do a Fallout 4 only Caltrops run, of course poisoned ones included.
if that's too hard maybe just a traps only run so you could use bear traps.
Well you didn’t steal everything, you did steal our hearts. 🤣
I always catch these videos early. Thanks for always making them!
I have thought of a beautiful play through. “Can I beat Fallout New Vegas as the Hitman”
Anyone you kill has to be in secret. If you were to be found killing someone. Every single witness would have to be killed
ngl I loved stealing in oblivion mainly because the lockpicking mini-game actually rewarded skilled lockpickers. I hate the "turn the bobbypin left or right" lockpicking that most games use.
Sup want a 🍪 and some 🥛?
I keep losing track of time. Could have been watching this a whole 15 minutes ago haha!
Thanks for the video!
The way you just casually bust Preston on the face before blowing up the Institute made me laugh harder than it should have.
I know this won’t help you now but,
If you go to atom cats garage, there are (I think) two power armor frames you can steal. One has T-60 power armor.
Hope this helps later on.
Usually I keep videos in mini-window mode as a kind of background noise but YOU. YOU have the honor of having my full attention.
It’s like GoT all over again, excited for one day a week to watch a video! Loving the content bro! ❤
You know the memory den can be skipped if you keep running to the exit path of the memory. Yes, its still long, but not nearly as long as waiting for all of the cutscenes
I fucking love the fo3 ambient music. I listen to these before bed. These videos helped me get through a bad insomnia phase
Looks so fun I think I'll have to do this one myself and see how difficult it is for me. Thanks 😂
“One minutemen quest down and God knows how many more to go “ I laughed til it hurt 💀😭😂
Honestly i always wondered why ,there are no pipe shotguns in fallout 4. I mean i would be relatively simple to build one
In fact, much easier than the pipe pistols that exist in game, especially if you're just making one that slam fires. Then you don't even need to deal with springs and triggers and such.
@@colby1398 yeah my thought exactly
Pretty certain they rushed the game so a lot of stuff was cut and/or not thought of.
A day with a new Fallout challenge from Nerbit is a wonderful day indeed :)
What a preston is! 😂
Fallout New Vegas as a Gentleman? Formal wear, maria, etc. maybe as a baseball player? Baseball bat, baseball grenades, pitcher’s helmet?
Saturday morning videos with Nerbit! Yay! 👌❤
15:00 you can actually do it "legally". you need cait with you. tell her seach body, then complete her quest. and when she sits in that drug seat all the stuff she carries becomes stealeble. EASY
@1:15 That mustache though. 🤣
*Insert Evil Laugh
6:43. When you casually steal a WMD.
i left mitten squad for this guy. worth it.
I honestly think quest items that are required should be considered able to give a pass on the run, considering there literally is no other way to proceed without them.
The Fallout 4 ones really are my favourite, I've put in hundreds of hours into the game and I still love it, I plan to play it again soon.
I think you can also tell your companion to get it, dismiss them and pickpocket them
You can technically steal a full suit of t60 PA from the atom cats garage from the start of the game, getting there is the fun part
The amphitheater that’s got that cult has a mini nuke you can steal that respawns fairly frequently- with the weapon you can pick up from Goodneighbor that’s a good option
I’m super excited for your Oblivion video now 🗡
Is it a Steally Steally kind of play through?
8:33 The settlers at Tenpines don't always send you to Corvega, occasionally they will send you to BADTFL.
With the Nuka World DLC the bat is one of the best melee weapons.
This run was over before it even began. Before you even managed to slip into the cryochamber, you are GIVEN a vault 111 suit, making the run immediately impossible
"After my brain decided to catch up with me and do its job..."
aaaaand subbed.
Anyone else just throw these fallout challenge videos on to fall asleep too. I’ve been doing it every night for over a year.
Nerbit just so you know for future challenges, in fo4 crippled limbs get fixed by themselves after like 2 minutes
Can you beat Fallout (3, NV, 4) as Anton Chigurh (No Country For Old Men)?
-Basically flip a coin to decide whether to kill someone or not every time you talk to a new person
