  • The Free Palestine protestors at college campuses are brainwashed. They think they're so righteous, and that the people who oppose them must condone evil - this is all the while some of them act like complete jerks with total disregard for the people living among them. Sick of these people.

They just closed the local school, Cal Poly Humboldt, for the rest of the semester because Pro Palestine idiots forced their way into the school's administration building, and the President's office, vandalized it, and fought the cops. This resulted in shutting down everything, including large music shows that have been planned all year, and causing me to lose my rent this month because I needed to work one of the shows shooting a big video project. They took away the classes all the regular students needed to prepare for finals, because the environment was unpredictable and a liability. They could have just set up on the quad and said their piece, but instead they chose to take away the rights of others to not be involved. So now they have stupidly done more damage than good.

I watched three young men who were hung just because some old man said they were infidels from another village. Turned out another village elder sent his three sons to talk with the village elder from a different village. We were then stuck in between the fighting over the death of the three young men for a solid year. These are NOT the people you want in your country. .

    Happened today.
I see a friend of a few years, with whom I've had hours-long political discussions before and who I consoled once while they were crying from stress, attending a pro-Palestine rally.
I walk up and say hello. I ask him what his thoughts are. He doesn't answer exactly, and instead asks my thoughts. I say that I don't think I really agree with it. And that is that.
Maybe 10 minutes later, I asked him if he followed it much. He asks me what, and I say the Israel-Palestine conflict. I ask if he wants to have a conversation about it. He says he hasn't followed it much and that he's here to see what they have to say.
I waited until the current speaker and subsequent speaker were done, so I wasn't interrupting. I asked if he'd like to converse afterward. He said that I could stay afterward to talk to some of the organizers.
Now, I can understand him, if I said something again, getting annoyed and being like, "Hey, I don't really want to talk, can you stop?" That's a perfectly reasonable response if I'm annoying him.
So, I waited another several minutes so I wasn't interrupting. I said, "Well, I just want to say really quick that I wanted to have a conversation because I feel their rhetoric sounds nice, but it is shallow." And his response was a very stern and pissed, "Like, seriously, you need to get away from me."
I don't fucking get it. It just doesn't seem like a normal response to what I did. I can understand him telling me to stop, but his tone was almost insinuating that there's something wrong with me and I needed to get away from him because of it?
Like, why? Keep in mind, this played out over the course of 30 minutes. Like, 4 total interactions. It just felt like such a disproportionate response to what I did given the prior context and lack of annoyment or exasperation in his previous responses, and it felt like almost gaslighty. I don't know, maybe I'm off-base. But I've never ever had someone react like that to me.
So, it's just weird. He self-admittedly doesn't follow it, but he'll go out to a rally and snap his fingers along and be like, "Good point." When he doesn't even have a fucking clue if anything they said was accurate. Again, it's just a bunch of shallow rhetoric that appeals to "freedom" and "justice." Like, nothing substantial was said. So it's aggravating that he'd absorb it so uncritically, to the point where he's raising his fist in the air and chanting along.
Like, how do so many people fall for this shit? How is this the stuff that convinces people? It's as if so many are just sheep going with the herd. This is the popular thing to support now, so I'll support it without doing any investigation.

I'm fully aware Israel has done plenty of reprehensible things and I'm not some Israel lover, but with that said here are some fun facts the mainstream liberal narrative probably hasnt told you:
Fun fact: The concept of Palestine was invented by the British Empire and originally included all of Jordan. So even if you just accept their identity which was invented in modern times, there is already a Palestinian state in the form of Jordan.
Fun fact: Arabs who were born in Israel in 1948 or earlier and all their descendants are fully recognised as Israeli citizens and have all the same rights as Jewish Israelis. All of the Palestinians who claim they live in an apartheid are actually just illegal immigrants from other Arab countries who claim Palestinian identity because it helps their victim narrative.
Fun fact: The Palestinian population continues to grow year after year, which seems awfully odd for a people undergoing genocide. If you want to see a real modern genocide look at the Uighur genocide where their birthrates immediately plummeted after the government policies were enacted to do this to them.
Honestly Gaza should just become part of Egypt, its the logical solution to this unending shitstorm but probably wont happen because of politics.

    • @markkuminov9772
      @markkuminov9772 Před 14 dny

All of your 'fun facts' are are pushed by the mainstream conservative media, which is no different in that it pushes a narrative that you have clearly fallen for.
Fun fact: The concept of modern-day Israel is not at all related to any Biblical or historical existence of a state consisting of Jews/Israeliates. In the same way that Putin is justifying the invasion of Ukraine under the guise of 'historical facts', modern day Israel has no claim over land that had belonged to the Arabs when the Brits were dividing up the region (in a very poor effort). Hence why there are many Jews that completely disregard the existence of modern day Israel as we know it.
Fun fact: Having the same rights does not equate to not suffering from systemic biases present within a system built by those who overrule the territory. In the same way that everyone in America is presumed to have the same rights in the court, there are many factors that cause certain groups to be at a disadvantage, and those who set up the systems to be advantaged.
Fun fact: A genocide can take decades to truly occur, its not a process that happens overnight and involves several different steps that aim to ostracise, exclude and weaken a populace. Israel's intelligence is not stupid enough to outright begin removing Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank, knowing that it'd force its Western allies to actually take action against it due to the expected pushback from the people if a full-blown genocide was to occur. However, it's a lot easier to excuse and hide the mass civilian casualties and lack of access to food and resources that Palestinians are suffering from as a result of this 'special military operation'.

I remember seeing a couple protests on campus when I was in college, and while I may not have agreed with their messages, I didn't mind the people themselves. They would set up in spots with heavy foot traffic to say their piece and engage with interested passers-by but took up a small enough amount of space that those who were uninterested could easily pass by. The protestors also only stayed for a few hours at a time instead of pitching tents and acting as if they owned the place. These self-proclaimed pro-Palestine protestors should take note.

I think what our American protestors want to toss out, is that Israel was the victim of an attack, the atrocities dome to women and children that day, and to those still being held…. how that can be overlooked and Israel expected to take it on the chin? Israel goes out of their way time and again to warn any civilians and give time to evacuate before drooping any bombs, phone calls, flyers, audible warnings. That really impressed upon me, how the desire is not to harm anyone who may be innocent. The terrorists hide within and under hospitals and schools. They put their people in harms way purposely. Yet Israel is the “bad” guy? The terrorists went in killing the Israelis who were closest to them, working with them, most compassionate “social justice minded” folks, if you will, and yet that mattered not to the terrorists.

He told me if I had seen the horror of what he had been part of in the name of war I would be a little more informed about the geopolitical history of the world, it helps to understand the biases of those who write the story. Vis a vis the Middle East we have two groups who are fighting for supremacy of a piece of land instead of agreeing to share it. There is fault on both sides, but I suppose if someone punched me on the nose and then told me they’d do it again I think I would go all out to stop them. Even if black people average more violent than white people, they are still entitled to be judged on actual evidence of their individual behavior, and they don't reliably get that.

As far as the protesters disrupting community members, they had to move locations in Los Angeles from USC in expo park to UCLA in westwood. One really obvious reason why they had move which anyone who is a "community member" or at least lives in this city can immediately see is this. You don't mess around in expo park, it's not a place you would want to be walking around at night. Westwood? Nothing happens there. The homeless living out there are majority elderly veterans because the VA building is there, they are less volatile than the homeless of downtown that are getting on and off the metro rail that runs through expo park. The police barricaded the protesters at USC in to the campus as sundown approached that 1st day and the protesters took this as police oppression. Which shows how little they know about their real life situation, had they walked out into the streets and tried disrupting that neighborhood it would not have ended peacefully. In westwood, that isn't so much a concern. The protest has been contained on that campus since and I expect it to stay like that for the foreseeable future. At least they aren't really bothering anybody way up in the hills...
