Just wanted to say that you can pair corin with billy and anby for example and you will get 3 out of 3 smiley, having the same element as a member of your team is enough and you don't have to bring a member of the same squad to "activate" the passive or whatever.

how big are faction bonus in team building? is it worth to ignore those for a better well-rounded team (roles or element)?

They're not mandatory and you can get the same bonus by having the same element, but they're decent enough for you to not want to miss out. For example Ellen bonus gives her 7.5% base ice dmg bonus, increasing to 20% if attacking stunned enemies.
