The laptop battery need to be tested before used in other configuration , because they can have various capacity ! If one have 500mAh and other 2000mAh the bms stop entier pack wen first battery ritch 2.5v ...

This video shows only how to make used 18650 cells as battery packed, what concern me maybe all those who watched is the lack of safety in making. First is the battery tested individually for their capacity? if any of the individual cells peak its voltage before the rest of the packed is disaster waiting, second is you separated each series with a paper cardboard? lastly if you could buy a spot welder maybe you could buy a soldering iron to solder the bms to the packed since it carries more amps to that connections.

You could do it from rejected laptop batts. Most of such batts are good but main problem is max current drain. Laptop batteries has max current limit, mostly 4-5 Amps. So , big capacity but low current load is the problem is practice. BMS has current limit much bigger that the batts! That could result batts to explode. For low current rigs it could be ok.

Can you make a video on how to integrate a secondary hv battery in an EV let's say of half the fixed battery and switching from one battery to another to extend range in an EV..
Also what to keep in mind while choosing configuration for the secondary battery. Like should it have same voltage or current as the fixed battery for range extension.
Lithium battery is dangerous. They require balanced charging in the correct voltage on each single cell. These should never be made. Making one of these battery pack can shock you if you connect them in series and if it caught on fire it’s hard to distinguish.

At 4:09 , not a good idea. It is better to pre-solder the wire ends, and the area on the circuit board, then solder the wire to the board, the reason why, having heat on the board to long will cause that contact surface to separate from the board. plus if the wire end is not saturated with solder could cause problems. I mean it wont happen every time, but, why take the chance when it can be fully avoided.

Internal resistance increases of old batteries even voltages the same. Load testing needed.
What about capacity of each cell? Even new ones, if they are different models, cannot be used together. Also, being used cells, each should have a fuse, in case they become "power consumer" - so if they short internally, they will draw a ton of current and the fuse will pop. And for limiting the current, these are not high drain cells.

If they are in same voltage rate ..it ok ....all batteries in parallel have same voltages and can't discharged different..event have different capacities because voltage remain same.....but in series it could limit capacity of power

There needs to be space in between each battery and you need to have fused connections
Great idea to use 5V PSU with diodes and volt/amp meter to do a "short-cut" method for higher current charging. It could overcharge the batteries (4.3v instead of 4.2v) but if monitored properly it can work

You should never make it like that. Each battery cell has a different capacity, but in the end, it does not last long and cannot be used. I can never agree to make it this way.

idea : try connecting these 2 in series (set 1) and make another 2 in series (set 2) connect (set 1) and (set 2) in parallel = 24v 2000watt then make a mini electric vehicle. Which can atleast take load of 1person (i am expecting a load of 4person)

I couldn't find the spot welder from the link provided? Also can you please tell me about the BMS? Is that what regulates the 12vdc output because I don't see how these batteries can be configured for a 12vdc supply.

Each set of batteries equals 4.2 volts. He has 3 in series. The bms is on aliexpress just under lost orders. The bms only protects the batteries from overcharge and overdischarge
