If people are struggling with 3d, shading & shadows an easy tip to help understand things how light interacts with 3d letters, how shadows are cast, try just getting some 3d wooden letters or words, you can get letters individually but there's plenty of places that sell things like the word LOVE cut out of wood & use a torch or desk lamp to shine on the letters/word & see how the shadows work, how the light interacts with the 3d forms of the wooden letters, how it reflects off the object & use that 3d letter/word & write it on paper & then shade it, add shadows to it that you see on the wooden letters & move the light source, place it in different positions & draw the letter/word again & again with the different light source/angle to just practice 3d, light & shadow

this came out great, popping off the wall. would be cool to see 2 pics comparison, before and after adding reflected light to see how much difference it makes.
