Agreed! I absolutely hate when the growers glue those stupid flowers on them.
They just want them to look more pretty
Yes, the flowers are stupid looking and the glue scars the plant. I normally pick the plants that I know the glue isn't really attached well to the plant so when I pull it off it won't damage it. A lot of people buy them because they think the flowers are real. It's deceiving.
The natural cacti looks so much nicer. I can’t believe some places spray paint and glue stuff to the cacti!! I’ve yet to see this where I live but it looks frustrating af 😂🌿

Such a shame they glue those flowers on but you did a great job taking them off without damage :)
Agree they need to stop! I pulled mine off but still have a little glue stuck in the middle 😢

Agreed 100%. Some places stick wooden dowels/spikes with various decorations on them down into the cactus. Sombreros,holiday related,etc. Saw it on Desert Plants of Avalon. Some of my cacti never fully recovered from the glue removal, even after 3-4 years. I learned to call it character :) 👍

If there is too much glue you can use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) , I used 91% , and it softens up the glue and with enough play and picking it comes off.

They always glue them to the growing tips as well! It’s dumb!!
My mammillaria cactus I have today has an artificial flower on it top so thank you for the video now I will do this tomorrow! 😊

Hey listen....I also HATE the fake flowers and spray paint!!! I found the name of the supplier on one cactus and sent them an email.......I did get a response, but not the one I’m looking for....i think that if more of us banded together and complained, that maybe they’d get the hint that the straw flowers and spray paint are CACTUS ABUSE!! Give it a try!

I struggled to remove fake cacti flowers in my purchased last year and it is just annoying that they do not place a label on it too so we can decide whether to buy cacti with fake flowers attached to it or not.

Shit, Awesome video, totally hate those fake things, deplorable!!! Neat,I have a toothpick cactus I bought Like 5 years ago from Walmart, thanks now I know the name! Toothpick cactus,it fits perfectly with the plant, common names are the best!
Yes, they absolutely should stop glueing these stupid things on to the cactus. It can't even fool but the stupidest people. It counters sales also. I've bought lower priced cacti over more expensive ones because they left them off the lower end cacti.
I ripped one of the heads of my cactus so I took the whole head from the other two
I asked at Home Depot once when I saw the glue seeping out and they confirmed they GLUE ON THE FLOWERS. I was also new to cacti in general at the time; so, didn't know they flowered at all. :/

I cannot stand the fake flowers on my cacti! I love my Cacti! i remove the fakes as soon as i can with out damaging the plant. Usually right away or a week after i purchase! the natural flowers are so beautiful!

Omg! THANK YOU. I hate this-- and have you seen the painted succulents? In bright colors and glow in the dark? Can those even survive under spray paint? It drives me crazy. I will never buy glued on and painted on plants. Another thing that drives me crazy (since I'm airing it-haha) are succulents, cactus, and lucky bamboo in pots that have glued-in gravel on top. That's another of my "will never buy". Oh-- and glittered or flocked Norfolk pines! Ok...whew. Got that off my chest. Thanks! :-). Love your channel!😃

God I despise straw flowers. It’s so bad. I’ve stopped buying them, which is a shame because otherwise it’s a perfectly healthy cactus. I just don’t want the people who sell them to get my money.

So do I need to harvest the flower? Also, there are some black spots on it. Will that heal or is it ok. Also, do I need to put it on a small pot? I have it in a small bowl still in it's black cup. Also, can they be kept outside?

I like the flowers I dot they were real and around my house I don't glue plants together but I do put fake ants around real ones to shine them up 😭😂😂😂👑🤨
I took the fake flower off of my cactus and I accidentally ripped apart of the cactus. Is it okay to still water it while it’s ripped?
It will grow back slowly but surely takes a cutus year's to even grow an inch it should be fine lol.
I had them once and thought they were real till REAL flowers were budding underneath the glue trying to pop so I had to remove all the fake flowers on my cactus then they all started blooming
