GTO Dominates with NO BOOST!

- In this day and age, we generally don’t see too many competitive cars running a naturally aspirated set up. It’s simply not enough to keep up with the competition. But that was NOT the case here! This GORGEOUS, tubed GTO showed up to this years Ice Cream Cruise and turned heads everywhere it went. Rocking a N/A 454 chevy and ALL steel body - we were skeptical it would take down the fast turbo cars..but were we sure mistaken! It busted out 6.30’s all night and swept it’s class - taking home $1,200 and lots of smiles!

He made those tubs look like the gto came out of the factory like that. The hood scoop has a nice shape that flows with the rest of the car. Some interior. 760hp N/A. Did a hell of a job.

That gto is very consistent which is awesome cause the cars like the murder nova are sometimes running faster than a 6.34 but sometimes it runs shitty. This is an awesome car and I hope he can stay consistent while going faster on the strip.
ENDER Murder nova runs low 4s so that's comparing apples to oranges. Turn the murder nova all the way down and it'd run 550s all day easy.

Damn well done! Awesome driver, awesome simple set up and easy, reliable off-shelf power. Probably the only off shelf/stock crate engine car there.
I already know it's going to happen so I'll just get this out of the way now. It's a Holden Monaro CV8Z in Australia, but in the US it's known as the Pontiac GTO.

Not bad for a Naturally Aspirated engine.
If you take the same displacement motor, and make 1000 hp NA and forced induction the naturally aspirated is going to kick ass, while being MUCH less efficient, the power curves are much more linear and always are happy and snappy, however NA will basically always have a disadvantage going higher than that pretty much

Wow good for him. Clearly high horse power isn't everything. She's quicker than the GTRs I watched in a previous upload that have double the power. I'm sure that 2 speed transmission helps a lot too. Cool car.

No boost = more reliable engine and no lag. But I could not imagine how powerful that thing could be if he supercharged it.
