It's really a shame that this game is so often overlooked. I loved every second of it. Heck, it got me back into rpgs (jrpgs that is). If Blue Dragon didn't exist, I don't know where I'd be right now. It's that kind of game for me.
Cofageekus That's what hurt it though. The demographic of the Xbox 360 was largely shooters especially at the time. We played it but we were a large minority on that console so the game only has a very small cult following. It's not too bad though. It did get follow up titles on the handhelds. That's more that I can say for some games deserving of attention.
Oda Swifteye Yeah, you're right. I'm really bad at shooters (just look at me playing Splatoon ...). I just can't aim. That's also why I'm more of Nintendo and Sony guy than a Xbox one. I only had a 360 because the PS3 was so damn expensive at the time.
Blue Dragon's balancing is kinda awesome last I remember. As long as you rarely avoid fights and actually kill most of the things that stand between you and your destination, you can pretty much just keep moving through the plot. I did not do this on my first run, I avoided so many fights that they became borderline impossible to handle around the fire/ice wolf boss, but I was 8 so I'm cutting myself some slack.

Destroy was the first story boss in a while who could do real damage but he didn't have enough HP. Also I had to make sure not to use Quickus or the poor bastard would never get a turn.
Destroy in Blue Dragon Awakened Shadow is a real pain in the neck. You find him after you have found all the shard pieces and then go to Destroy's chamber.
Is it true? so is it a really secret boss or something 'cuz when I read your comment I searched about and didn't find anything related to that. Actually I'm not sure if you're talking about the moment that we need to fight against the dragon to have back the shadow power for shu or if you're saying about the "blue dragon pieces" (I don't remember the exact name), if it is the second opition, I really wanna know more about that secret boss
Wtf I remember like 10 years ago when I was a kid I got a toy of Blue dragon only thinking it is a toy series and it turns out it was a video game? My heart jumped when I saw this video
i really the enjoyed the anime series ( has like 50+ episodes) but the game was also amazing, i always tried to take as long as i could taking turns because the music they made for this was just great
That's Ian Paice style drumming. Uematsu is a huge Deep Purple fan. Ian Gillan sang Eternity on this game. The other thing to note is this type of song is the style of music Jon Lord wanted to write when he was in Deep Purple (combining classical with today's music).
DragonishChaosArt yes it is. to me. mwahahahahahaha my time r revenge. me vs the bad guys. in my mind I defeated all. I'm trying to defeat. trying to defeat to rescue my friends from who they r getting with. :)
When i fought this beast of a thing i was unable to do any damage or defend myself, I then went to level up a bit, went up 1 level and beat it effortlessly, how that works out i have no idea.
I love this game and nearly beat it but got soft locked by saving at the last save point(and therefore couldn't go back and level) and wasn't strong enough to beat the final boss. I couldn't go back to earlier parts since I saved at the final save point and couldn't leave and I didn't have any back uo saves either. That kind of restart is hard to do but Blessedly I'll do it. Great Game though! :)
I used to only play turn based RPG’s when I was a young man but fell off of them after FF10. I picked this up recently and am hoping this could get me back into it

Evan Czarkowski I always wanted to play this one, but when I finally got a 360 and bought this game, I discovered it to be a very average RPG(or maybe just a tad above). It's quite surprising considering the people involved in making it, but it's true. That is no doubt why few people ever talk about it. It's gameplay is very old-school, but unless you really, really like anime, this game is just not on the same level as a Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, and other classics. Still, average is not the same as bad. It's certainly worth picking up if you can get it for fairly cheap. One very interesting thing about the game that is worth mentioning is that you can check nearly *everything*! You find a whole lot of nothing when doing this, and what's really odd is that the game actually rewards you for finding nothing. There is a man in a certain town called the "nothing man", and after finding set amounts of these nothings, he gives you rewards. This is the one thing about the game that really stands out.

Cofageekus It's biggest mistake by far was being on the Xbox 360.
Oda Swifteye I don't know. I didn't have a PS3 at the time and I can't imagine it being on Wii - so I don't have a problem with it being on Xbox.
Cofageekus That's what hurt it though. The demographic of the Xbox 360 was largely shooters especially at the time.

there was no greater feeling then risking it all and using Shu ultimate attack instead of healing everyone during the final battle and succeeding

No because it turns into chaos
Destroy
